Although "beachfront" you will unlikely be swimming right next to your hotel. The large tidal range along with the mangroves make this very shallow beachfront area not an area to swim. Rooms were bare minimum but everything worked and internet was very unreliable. No refrigerator or coffee maker in room and mild mildew on the walls which had zero decoration. Road to this hotel was riddled with potholes and nothing is within walking distance of this hotel.

The good news is the pool was nice and the food at the restaurant was excellent. Free coffee and turmeric tea was always available. Staff was great and very helpful all the time.

If I returned to Palawan I would probable not return to this hotel even though very economical.

Room tip: Some have water view.

Thank you for giving us your honest review of your recent stay. We appreciate all genuine guest comments as it helps us in our drive to continuously improve our facilities and services.
Internet access in the entire island of Palawan is certainly challenged at best, although I am happy to report that progress is being made everyday by our local Internet providers to improve connectivity.
All our beachfront rooms have a small refrigerator while the Suites have a fridge and coffee-making facilities. Arrangements can be made in advance with the Front Desk.
I am glad that despite the shortcomings you mentioned, you still enjoyed our inexpensive and economical hotel, the free coffee and turmeric tea at the lobby, the nice pool, the food at the restaurant, and our great and helpful staff.
While you have stated otherwise, I hope we still get the chance to make it up to you on your return trip to Palawan.

Pros: friendly, helpful staff
delicious food from the Senordamla restaurant on site - fresh seafood
breakfast was buffet style (hot breakfast)
fire presentation every Mondays for the Taiwanese group which we just happen to see(really cool)
free tumeric tea
free shuttle to and from the airport
free shuttle to and from the nearest mall
because of the location, during tours we were the last ones to be picked up but first ones to be dropped off

Cons: location is in the outskirts of the town
road leading to it has tons of potholes, making the ride a little bit uncomfortable
beach front is actually a mangrove area not a swimmable beach
no gym facility, internet slow or non existent
no other attractions within walking distance

Room tip: Beach front rooms on the first floor are the best

Pros:
- Nice friendly staff
- Reasonable price
- beach location in Puerto Princesa where there's not many
- hot breakfast, coffee/espresso machine available continuously

Cons:
- iffy wifi
- waterline on beach will be far on low tides but still spectacular sunrise

This is overall a nice place to vacation and good value away from hustle and bustle of Puerto Princesa. We booked our tours with them, less hassle than other operators.

Room tip: Take the beach side

I was there for an official business trip. The following were my experiences during my stay.

Pros:
Excellent Customer Service
-How I wish all the frontliners in the hotels were all this kind, nice and very accommodating. Everyone would certainly love their stay.

Free Shuttle Service
-If you prefer solemnity, privacy and romantic, and if you want to spend sometime in a kind-ish far place away from the City, choose this hotel. They offer multiple times free shuttle from Hotel to Robinsons to Airport (Vice Versa); the drivers were all kind too.

Beach Front with a very cold aircon (I love this part)
-You get to see the sunset, sunrise. but not that advisable for a swimming. They have pool though.

Cons
Food.
-I heard during our stay that the restaurant is a supplier or a concessionaire, so I assumed the Hotel can't monitor the quality (I hope not). We ordered twice, and we did not like it.. twice. Plus the price is not that reasonable to its taste. (Staff there were not friendly during our breakfast. They are probably tired, I understand this part, since we were the last group to eat breakfast.)
-Since its kind of far from the city proper, we bought groceries before heading back to the hotel.

Room Facilities
-We extended our stay there and requested for a make up room, expecting that the sheets will be replaced like the usual 4 - 5 star hotels do. However, to my surprise, they don't allow it cos according to the staff, we are still there, so no bed sheets were replaced. Find it not hygienic. (I totally wonder why, other hotels change sheets every day. Even without a request. They explained it too kind. so plus points for customer service.)
-Sliding door is broken too. Comfort Rooms need some renovation. and lighting in the hall way.

In summary, I still enjoy our stay. Kudos to your Customer Service. Very lovely frontliners. I like this better than the one in General Santos.

On behalf of everyone here at Microtel by Wyndham Puerto Princesa, I would like to thank you very much for sharing with us your positive feedback on your recent stay. I am glad that despite the concerns you mentioned, you still enjoyed your stay. I have forwarded your comments on the restaurant to our concessionaire for their appropriate action. Likewise, I would like to apologize for the incident with the bed sheets. As an environment-friendly practice to reduce water consumption and use of detergents, we normally replace bed sheets before each new guest arrives and after every 2nd night of a guest's stay, or as needed or if requested by guests. We have streamlined the process by placing a notice in the rooms that asks guests to place it on the bed if they wanted their bed sheets replaced. Again, I apologize for the misunderstanding and I hope we get the chance to make it up to you on your next visit.

This property is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Palawan. Rather than being in the city, it is located 20 minutes out of town, right on the ocean. You walk out the lobby past the pool, and there is the ocean to wade in,or swim at high tide. Lay in a hammock between two palm trees, and relax. Comfortable bed,and good staff served any of our needs. It truly is paradise found in the Pacific, if that is what your looking for in a relaxing romantic place to stay. Also, good breakfast provided,if you like Philippine style food. Very nice for dinner as well.

Room tip: Ask to face the ocean, rather than the lagoon. Second floor.
