I found this place online and I gave it a try. It was the best decision since I'd previously stayed in other 2 places but I found Subli closest to my heart. First of all the staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. The room was really clean and bed was comfortable. You will be treated like friends which I really appreciate. There is no restaurant but cold drinks are available. I will definitely go back in Subli.

It makes us really happy that you appreciated being treated as a friend. Our girls are naturally friendly, and are not being so just because it is their job. We all truly enjoy welcoming people from all over the world. Thank you very much for appreciating the honest friendliness, the cleanliness and the comfort that Subli offers. We hope to have you here again some time!

As the saying goes..."better late than never"!
Thank you so much for the wonderful review. The mango tree is the real gem of our property. We hope you can visit us again at this time of the year so you can see and taste the mangoes it produces. And the hammocks are waiting for you! Thanks a lot once again and hope to have you back here soon!

A friend recommended to us that if we are going to Palawan, a bed and breakfast accommodation is a more practical choice since most tours in Palawan will consume most of the day and the accommodation will just really be a place to rest/sleep/prepare before/after the tour. We take chances and consider my friends recommendation and search for a bed and breakfast accommodation in Puerto Princesa here in TripAdvisor and Subli is the #1 option. We read the reviews and they are really convincing because most of them are of a pleasant/nice stay in Subli Guest Cabins. So we decided to book at Subli Guest Cabins.

And guess what, the reviews in TripAdvisor stands for what it says, we have a wonderful experience in Puerto Princesa because of Subli Guest Cabins.

Here are the things that I need to mention that makes them outstanding:

1. Budget - This is the deciding factor why we go with Subli Guest Cabins. We inquired for a quotation for the 3D/2N package and they give us an affordable deal. It is the cheapest quotation that we received compared to the other travel agencies that we inquired. Yes, they arrange the whole tour for us. (Tour consist of City, Firefly Watching, Puerto Princesa Underground River and Honda Bay Island Hopping Tour)

2. Accomodation - It looks like a nipa hut which is a traditional Filipino houses on the outside and a modern motels room look in the inside. Every accommodation are separated from each other. Unlike the others where the rooms are adjacent to each other. The room is clean, air conditioned, clean bathroom, and a comfortable full-sized bed. The wall-mounted TV is small but that is fine, we don't even use it when we stayed there.

3. Environment - It's an accommodation inside nature. it seems to be a small neighborhood with lots of trees and plants. The area has a good landscape layout. There are a number of hammocks under the tree where you can relax while waiting for the tour pickup.

4. Food - they have a variety of traditional Filipino/western Breakfast which are really good. Instant and brewed coffee are available also.

5. Services - Very accommodating services. From the booking process till check-out, they are very accommodating and friendly. Filipino Hospitality defines their services. Airport pickup/drop-off is included in their service. They even drop us off in the bay view for free even though it is not included in the package. They can also arrange food deliveries during lunch/dinner (though most of the tours includes lunch/dinner). They even gives us a complementary souvenir mug.

Thanks Subli Guest Cabins (Ma'am Nancy, Juvie, Aiza and Jeffrey) for the wonderful Puerto Princesa experience.

Your accommodation is highly recommended.

Wow! We truly appreciate your taking the time to write such a great review of Subli. Thank you so very much! And although we worry that people may expect too much of us because of your (and everyone else's) wonderful review, we are very grateful to you for pointing out that we are what the reviews say we are. We do know that Subli's style is not for everyone, but we try our best to make everybody feel that they made the right choice in accommodations and that we are happy to have them here. Thanks again and we hope to have you as a returning guest.

After all the great postings on Tripadvisor we decided to give Subli a try - we are so glad that we did. Ms. Nancy and the entire team were friendly and helpful and gracious. We spent two nights and wished it could have been more. As we ate our included breakfast with the sun shining in the open air in a garden like setting it was just so peaceful and beautiful. They helped arrange all the tours we wanted and were often avaliable for taking us into town. They picked us up and delivered us back to the airport. As we came in later one evening the "twinkle" lights on the front of the cabins were so beautiful.

With that said, you do need to be aware what you are getting - there is no pool and no restaurant. If you want something to eat you will need to go into town. It is located a little off the beaten path so it is a bit of a haul in a bike to get back.

But those are also many of the reasons we found it so appealing. This is not your typical hotel stay. It is an experience in and of itself and one that we really enjoyed. We highly recommend it. You are treated like guests rather than just customers. They were able to work with us to get into a room early and to provide a place for our luggage before our evening flight even after we had checked out. Thanks again to Subli for a wonderful 3 days. I'm not sure we will ever be back that way again, but we will certainly stay there if we do! Great value for the money.

We are profoundly grateful for such a special review! If you have read our blog (theinnkeeperatsubli.wordpress.com), you would know that we are humbly aspiring to become a "destination", not just a tourist accommodation. It is our dream that people from all over the world would want to visit Subli, not just to have a comfortable place to stay, but also to have a special experience of nature, of our culture, and of our own brand of relaxed, casual living. Your comment that Subli is "an experience in and of itself and one that we really enjoyed" truly made our day! And will most likely make all of our succeeding days! Thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts!

This place is awesome! We were greeted at the airport when though out plane was about two hours late. The little cabins are so cute amongst the garden. Rooms are clean with towels provided. It's a short ride away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff are so friendly, really chatty and gave us a number of free rides in to the city. If you have any questions they will answer them fully and provide maps, details, numbers etc or book tours - whatever you want they deliver. There is also a really cool reading room with mosquito nets all around the outside and you can site in there and chill. There was yummy breakfast as well. The staff treat you as if you are family. We loved this place so much

As always, we are thrilled that you enjoyed being treated like family.
We are, after all, a family-style, casual bed and breakfast that endeavors to make guests feel like this is their own home. Or their favorite summer camp.
Thanks so much! Especially for appreciating the staff and the reading hut!

Subli Guest Cabins:

1. The first thing you'll notice is how lively the response you get from Ms. Nancy upon emailing her. She replies on time, with enthusiasm, and is very much willing to offer you advice on what to do or what to expect.

2. When you text her, if you want to inquire whether your reservation is confirmed, she will reply to you and tell you that you will find your name in the arrival area of airport.

3. The crew greets you, asks if it is your first time in Palawan and welcomes you with the sincerest heart. (They were surprised to find that I was traveling alone.) You can actually feel that they want you to enjoy the place.

4. Upon check-in, they will ask you immediately what you want for breakfast. (I paid my balance immediately to avoid any hassle). Upon stepping inside the room, you will find that there is nothing amiss. The aircon and heater are working, the towels and linen smell clean and the room is, well, spotless.

5. When going out, they will offer you a copy of the map going back to the place in case you lose your way. This is very important to me as I lack a sense of direction and I tend to go for adventures by myself.

6. Lastly, they will serve you and chat with you with their whole hearts. The food is great! I recommend the fried dried fish (daing)!

7. You will feel special upon leaving, you will definitely come back! =)

Room Tip: I had the Manager's Cabin. =)

Wow, what a great review! Thank you soooooooo much!
We sincerely want everyone to enjoy their stay, not just at Subli, but in our city and province as well, which is why we endeavor to help with tours and trips and other arrangements. And we do want our guests to feel special, which is why we try to be different in every way we can. Thank you very much for validating our efforts. The only worry now is that we may not get a chance to stay in our Manager's Cabin anymore! Haha!

We stayed at Subli for 2 nights in one of their queen cabins. We had planned to stay for 3 nights in their smaller cabin, but since this one was only available the first night they offered us a free upgrade to the langer cabin for the next 2 nights. Really nice! In the end it turned out we had to cancel the first night because our flight to Puerto Princesa got cancelled, but Nancy was very helpful on the phone and made it not any problem to cancel. She couldn't have been more hospitable. We even still got the free upgrade and payed 1.200 peso per night.

Our stay at Subli was just perfect. Our cabin was lovely. Spacious, nicely decorated, working AC, clean, good bed. The bathroom was clean too with a hot shower (with curtain!). No mosquito net but we hung our own. Outside our cabin we had a small seating area. There is a common terrace outside in their lovely garden (with funny talking birds!) with a table and chairs and hammocks.

They have a large breakfast menu to choose from and free coffee and tea. There is also wifi in the common areas. The location is maybe a bit far-off, but you can get cheap trikes to take you anywhere in Puerto, the staff can call one for you at any time.

The thing that stood out most is the amazing hospitality of Nancy and her staff. They were always present to attend to our every need. Arranging transport for us, making suggestions about places to visit or things to do. They really made sure we did not have to worry about anything.

We feel this place is great value for money and would definitely come back here if we are in Puerto ever again.
