“Nice place but.........”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

My wife booked 3 days and 2 nights after recommendations from a friend. I was somewhat apprehensive after reading the many reviews. Our airport transfer shuttle met us at the airport and the driver was very friendly and informative. The facility is somewhat isolated. Upon arrival we were greeted with a welcome drink, a shot glass with juice, nice gesture but weak. We were taken to our room which upon entering was musty and had a smelled of mold. I immediately said this will not do as I am sensitive to mold and choose not to subject my lungs to mold spores. They moved us to a larger room for an additional fee. I thought this was somewhat cheesy as there were only 3 guests in the entire facility. Better management would have just upgraded the room for free. The staff in general was friendly and accommodating. The facility is very nice and well kept however the gym is just bunch of equipment jammed in a room and not very functional. The pool is nice and clean. The beach is man made and floods over at high tide so don't expect much there. Prices for additional services are pretty high. They wanted 1,200 peso for a 60 minute massage, I got one for 500 peso just a short walk down the beach at the Bohol Bee Farm, and 300 peso at Alono Beach. Bottom line; if your with a group or couple and want to be isolated, it's a nice place but somewhat pricey in comparison. The staff is friendly. Personally I think ownership and management needs some schooling in hospitality. Seriously, with 3 customers in the entire resort of some 90+ rooms! you would expect management to bend over backwards to make your experience exceptional. There are an abundance of resorts along Alona beach with more choices of activities, restaurants, and better beach. Unfortunately, Flushing Meadows, while nice, did not do anything to make me want to come back. I'll stay at one of the many choices on the beach next time.

Room Tip: Rooms are nice but check for mold before you settle on a room. Rooms by the infinity pool and resta...

I was looking for a place easily accessible from Manila were I wouldn t have to drive for hours before enjoying the beach: after quite a bit of searching I found Flushing Meadow:
The hotel is like new even if it is already 7 years old and that tells you that the care about it
it is a very romantic place with beautifuly kept flush gardens: Perfect for single; couples and families: I got there in the middle of a quiet week and almost had the place for myself: great staff that will make an extra effort to know your name to make you feel welcome:
it has a small manmade white sand beach and a 20 meters shallow water white sand beach part that is very nice:
Filipino food is good, european food could be better but is not bad at all:
I will definitely come back often here and recommand it to my friends:

Resort is basic but clean for the standard room....we had five nights booked we checked out after 10hrs...
Location is awful ++++ everything travel related increases in price due to the location of the hotel
Breakfast is standard philipine style, but no milk for coffee and no cereal. And when my partner wiped crumbs of his place Matt, lots of dead insects flew up into the air to the plate yuke...
We arrived at 9pm restaurant had closed by the time we got down..they had a buffet on ...wasn't great either....
At night due to the location there is no choice other than the hotel...it's really boring...
We have now rebooked in alona beach and the location is much better allows you choice with activities, food, bars, safer if a lone traveller, near the beach things are cheaper I.e island tour was the same price for both of us,the flushing meadows was charging double what we got...
The resort is not bad the staff are friendly .....but if your here to have an experience it is not going to be here....we're aware of philippine standard and are generally happy with basic but clean...but when your restricted it's makes enjoyment restricted as taxi is 500peso each way to Alona beach....and if you do this a few times a day over several days it's more cost effective to stay closer to the beech...and it's nice to roll off the beech into your room and back out for dinner with a sunset....
Currently chilling looking out on the beach with a beer... Feeling pleased we went with our gut instinct..

We stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights last September 2013 and wasn't dissapointed although it was a last minute of booking as we originally supposed to go to palawan. I would say we had a very nice and peaceful vacation with my foreigner boyfriend who is now my husband. Far from the crowded alona beach and they have their own swimming pool overlooking the white beach that looks like very romantic. They have a staff there name "Marco" in the restaurant who always served as with a smile and ask us if everything is okay with our stay and whereabout our plans and gave us some interesting ideas that we can visit in Bohol. Kudos to the resort driver as well for touring us around Bohol (sorry forgot his name). Overall, thank you as it was one of our memorable vacation.

LOCATION: It's about 30-minutes away from tagbilaran airport. we had our service so travel to the hotel wasn't hassle. We passed by the Dauis Church Ruins and Tagbilaran-Panglao Bridge with cracks(but it's safe to use it, don't worry). We passed by the main road and then we turned left at Tinago-Dauis road if i remember correctly. The resort's at the tip of that road.

LOBBY/FRONTDESK: Lobby is fully-furnished, with christmas trees and other decorations. It also has a corner with merchandise such as swimwear and toys for sand castles.

LANDSCAPE: We were accompanied by the staff to our room which was a walk away from the lobby. We passed by a well-maintained graden with a big elephant statue! Our room was located in front of a clean tennis court.

There's also this dino park, kiddie park, sports bar, videoke center, duck house and of course, the beach front.

BTW, you'll see geckos at night in the walls at the garden area. Thus making it mosquito-free area.

BEACH FRONT: white sand, not as pure as Boracay's. Little shore.
Low tide - morning till 9am;you can walk as far as 10meters from the shore and the water's not that deep; High tide 9am-afternoon.

There's this cemented walkway to have a good full view of the ocean. Location's not that perfect when it comes to watching sunrise nor sunset(due to island location/orientation)

ROOM: Twin sharing. Fully furnished. Cable TV. ref with complimentary drinks and others for sale. Perfect.

We had an unforgetabble moment: we just got back to our room after diiner when we sa a gecko inside the bathroom! aaahh!! 5-6 inch-gecko! We immediately called the frontdesk staff to send someone to get it our of our room. We thought the gecko might have entered the room during room cleaning. The staff came with a sweep and dust pan and he easily managed to get it out of our room. =)

After reading reviews after reviews,we decided to stay here for five days. Rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast was ok but only caters for the Asian taste (there should be options for the Western clients, cereals / continental breakfast won't cost much ). Staff and owner are very friendly and helpful but I think the place is expensive for what it is. " infinity" pool effect was switched off the whole duration of our stay, hot water worked 1/5 days we were there and was finally being fixed on the day we were leaving(not ideal when you have a 7 month old baby to bathe),"tiles" towards /around the pool/ restaurant area are slippery when wet( not very ideal) and they had their Christmas party one night so the restaurant was closed( no early notice) and since the place was far from other resorts / restaurants we had to hire their van to go to Panglao area for food . It is next door to Bohol bee farm though ,which you can "walk to" during low tide.
