“Horrible Exp by Seasoned Traveler”
Reviewed 9 March 2013

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The minute I entered the property I knew I was going to regret this reservation. Extremely outdated hotel with a worn down decor. Hallways had stained carpets and smelled of smoke. Then went ont to the next dissapointment, the room: linens CLEARLY not clean, room furniture had crumbs and hair from previous occupants.

WE made reservations, in person on August 5, 2012 for September1, 2012. Arrived on 9/1 to be told that the rooms on the first floor were not availble( no notification before hand)Terrible place to stay. Rude staff, untrained staff, rooms hot. Staff was lost as last years Easter eggs. Breakfast Bar was a JOKE( no creamer, milk, food as not available, we had to find someone to get the basic foods for the kids). Rooms that were requested were not available at 4:00p.m., but at change of shift manager the ground floor room were available, what gives? Check in clerk was unable to do a simple credit card tranaction. The morning desk clerk( a YANKEE tranplant) was rude and loud. Not a family friendly place to stay. Will not stay there again, we visit that area several times a year. Staff in desparate need of training and SUPERVISION. It is a place to waste you money, value for dollars spent ZERO.

We stayed here last year for the 127 Corridor and it was a great value. This year we paid twice as much as last year (even though we booked 6-mths in advance) and found that some improvements were needed. On our first leg of the trip heading North we stayed in a suite with a little Kitchenette, with a dirty old microwave. The carpeting in the room around the beds was badly stained and room had a stale musty odor. The bathroom was dingy.

Our second leg of the trip heading South, we stayed in a standard room. Though the carpet was much cleaner, the bathroom was worse. The tile baseboard was missing in areas, the grout was filthy and the vanity was a painted wooden box.

Last year the continental breakfast had a protein (hard boiled eggs), this year only carbs (bagel, french toast, waffle, muffins, oatmeal) Very disappointing breakfast, but the coffe was fresh and hot so that was good.

Check-in and Check-out staff was pleasant and the lobby candles smelled scrumptious.

Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms that were non-smoking were ok and not too smelly. Hallways you could smell smoke.
Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.
Bathrooms could use some updating.
Pool was dirty and not clear.
Good breakfast.

very clean rooms, friendly staff, and overall nice hotel. We slept well and had a good continental breakfast. There are smoking rooms and I could smell that when we came in through the side door, but I was not able to smell the smoke in our second floor room. Our room smelled nice and the bathroom was very clean.

Room Tip: This hotel is nice. It is just out of town and clean and quiet.

On business in nearby Burkesville, this hotel was a convenient option. When I arrived, the front desk told me their regular rate was $110.00 a night but they would let me have it for $90.00 incl. tax. I assume the rate was so high because of the indoor pool.(which I didn't use) What a disappointment!! The bathroom floor looked as if it hadn"t been cleaned in at least a month or more, the a/c just barely worked leaving the room extremely warm and the microwave and refrigerator work unplugged and just sitting on the floor. Given their location, I assume that was their way of making you use their vending machines because you couldn't keep anything cold or heat up anything from somewhere else. The reason I say this is I, when asked the front desk about the fridge and mirowave, they informed me that those appliances in ALL rooms had been disconnected. The front desk just said "sorry you didn't enjoy your stay" when I checked out.
I travel 7 states and stay in all chains of hotels. This is by far the worse Best Western I have ever stayed in. Do yourself a favor and drive 20+ miles and stay elsewhere. Would not recommend this place to anyone!!

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere!!

We stayed at the Best Western Garden Inn on the night of July 9th. Reservations had been made and guaranteed about 3 weeks ahead as we have very specific needs of a room with two beds, wheelchair accessible with ah roll-in shower. We arrived at the motel at about 9:00 at night to find that our reservation was not going to be honored because the previous guest had extended their stay. I understand that they no doubt needed the room...but so did we! We were offered another room without the handicapped accessibility that we needed and we spent a miserable night. We had intended to stay two nights, but checked out the next morning and found another motel. We had to change our vacation plans for the next day because of this. I would definitely not stay at this motel again and question Best Western in general about their concern for handicapped individuals with specific needs.
