The Alta Vista is a confortable resort way away from the noisy and crowdy downtown. A little far but you can rely on their shuttle service to bring you back and forth to the downtown area every hour up until midnight. When a new herd of foreigners arrives to the complex, it became an adventure but they all leave one day. The personel is simply fantastic. Helpful, always willing to help, especially Paul and Malcolm. Their great plus. The pool worths the pictures you will all take of it. Their weakness, the cuisine. When we came their the first time, we were so please that we were not seeing a reason to go elsewhere for lunch and dinner but suddenly, nothing was anymore the same. The pinakbet was flavorless, the pizza was delivered cold with slight pieces of cheese, the grilled tilapia was delivered to the wrong room and once we called back, they sent it back cold but they were sorry. Being sorry is not forgiving everything. Most of the time, there was no bananas on the breakfast buffet (no bananas in a Philippines restaurant?) and one day, i asked to take one because it was very late and they sold it to me 30 PHP. I can have a kilo for that price. So sad that you end by forgeting theat their private beach worths spending a day.

Room Tip: Choose a room, not a loft. Most lofts are on the third floor and after a tiring day, you will lack e...

It is a bit far from the main hub of the island (station 2) but the view is just breathtaking. The hotel does offer free shuttle service to the center of the town every 30 mins. The breakfast buffet is really good. Its more than just bread and coffee. I would recommend this hotel if you'd rather have a private getaway rather than just looking for a place to party

Dear Deeps79,

We truly miss you baby son Siam. Very adorable child. Looking forward to see him again in the hotel. We have noted your concerns and we will work out on the internet connection in the lobby. Unfortunately, our service provider is having difficulty on fixing this but I do hope this will be resolved the soonest. The breakfast selection has improved with the our new set up of the food and beverage department.

We will be looking forward to see you and your family again in the resort. God bless

We stayed here for 10 nights the staff were brilliant they really took a shine to our baby son Siam ... The room were big and the balcony was great. The location is a bit out the way but the shuttle service is good but can get annoying as large groups of Chinese people try to push in and I mean like 20-30 people.. The Internet is extremely rubbish! And frustrating as it only works in reception and dining room area if it works at all as there's always around 20-30 people trying to use a basic Internet wireless which keeps dropping connection if your lucky to connect at all, we ended up buying some in the end. The pool is lovely and breakfast gets a bit same same after a few days. The staff really go out of their way for you. We would go back.

The hotel may be at the far end of Boracay but since it has a shuttle sending off and picking up guests at D'Mall until midnight, accessibility is not a problem anymore. It is a good choice for those wanting some peace and relaxation, away from the usual beach crowd and bars. If you want to take a swim but don't want to be bothered by too many people, you may take at dip at the hotel's infinity pool, or you may want to schedule a trip to their private beach area at the Pukka beach. This is something we truly enjoyed. We left our things inside the hut and threw our cares to the sea. Of course, you can always opt to go the the white beach.

The standard room we stayed in was big with two big beds. It can accommodate four people comfortably. The balcony overlooks the waters of Boracay. The only downside in this room is the slippery bath tub, even if they provided a non-slip mat (which would slip when you step on it after some time). Just be very, very careful. I guess that is the reason there are handbars.

Buffet breakfast offers just enough choices, just don't compare to 4-star hotel offerings. Nothing really very special in the food.

Room Tip: Since the rooms are distributed in many buildings apart from the reception building, request for the...

So, having been to Boracay over 40 times in less than 13 years, i have been able to try out a lot of the venues over there. Some great and some not so great. Alta Vista de Boracay looks a lot better on Agoda.com than the actual experience is, itself. The place is nice enough but had way too many negatives going on to win any sympathy from me. First of all, we knew it was far from the beach front and that was fine because I wanted to try somewhere different. But the distance was the least of the issues that I had. The place was packed...and I mean packed (like 98%) with Koreans and a tiny percentage of other foreign visitors. usually don't mind other nationalities but I just felt like I was in Korea and people there set the tone for the experience. I think it's the language barrier and the differences in cultures where one might misconstrue them to be rude. I tried to take the high road but it was painfully obvious that it was taking its toll on the staff as well who seemed numb from having to explain sentences over and over again and this eventually affected the overall service they ended up providing to everyone. They were friendly enough ... just seemed tired. The only reason this review isn't "terrible" is because of the nice staff we met. The Loft was nice at first but I don't think enough thought was put into the logistics of the place. Beds upstairs with air conditioning kind of weak and not directed to beds. Phone upstairs only! No TV upstairs...it was downstairs only! Ceiling fan was just a prop so air circulation was weak. No drinks in the mini bar. Food was generous in serving sizes but taste was a different story. Hourly shuttle services into town were filled with elbows and pushing and shoving to get a seat on the service and compete with very physical Koreans. Overall, way too many people staying at this hotel because the pricing is dirt cheap. You couldn't swim without some tourists pulling out their cameras and taking pics of you right in front of your face. Closest beach was Puca Beach and it wasn't anything like the typical beachfront that Boracay is known for. All souvenirs are extra expensive there despite lies by vendors who insist that it is more expensive at D'Mall. The walk to and from the hotel rooms to the main building in front was way too long. They definitely should have golf cart services like Shangri La or BellaRocca because it was way to exhausting to do it all the time. In a nutshell, Think twice before falling for the nice pics of the infinity pool, loft, food or the super cheap price. This is what you call a first and LAST.
Drivers were cool and staff was pleasant enough if your budget won't permit for better accommodations.

For the 2012 World Surgical Foundation (WSF) Surgical Mission R&R, I booked the WSF participants at Alta Vista de Boracay, 3 days/2 nights all-inclusive package, from February 18 to February 20, 2012. Sheila Rellora, Corporate Sales Manager, took care of the WSF reservation. She was extremely knowledgeable. Whenever I have questions, she immediately emailed me back. She undoubtedly cares about her customers, and in doing a great job. Below were the highlights of our AWESOME stay/experience with Alta Vista de Boracay:
(1) Transfers - an Alta Vista de Boracay representative is ALWAYS available (he looks for you and not vice-versa) - Kalibo Airport for the 1 ½ hours bus transfer, Caticlan for 10 minutes boat transfer, and the 30 minutes shuttle ride to the resort property.
(2) Meals - upon arrival on February 18, 2012 past noontime, since everybody was hungry, per Sheila’s recommendation, we ate lunch before check-in. During our stay, all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) served to us were EXCELLENT. With Sheila and the kitchen staff’s very accommodating and superb service, instead of having a to go breakfast (we have a very early flight at Kalibo Airport), they served us an early breakfast.
(3) Staff – all courteous, pleasant, incredibly helpful, and very friendly, i.e. they greeted us ‘Hello Mum’ or ‘Hello Sir’.
(4) Entertainment – At our dinner on February 18, 2012, we were entertained with Philippine cultural, folk dances, and fire show- WOW!
(5) Rooms – stayed at a very clean Studio Suite with two (2) queen size beds, which can accommodate four (4) adults. It is equipped with chic, modern living amenities, cable TV, mini bar, marble bathrooms, etc. and a balcony with a breath-taking view of the surrounding mountains and ocean.
(6) Check-in – Easy. The lobby is nicely furnished and fresh with a swimming pool!
(7) Location – Definitely a peaceful haven from the busy strip of Boracay center - Far from the white beach and D-Mall, but easily accessible by shuttle provided by Alta Vista de Boracay.
Overall, really enjoyed our stay at Alta Vista de Boracay and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for a nice break in Boracay. Alta Vista de Boracay offers SUPERB service!
