“Spacious, clean area with private beach...truly paradise”
Reviewed 6 August 2012

after 1 horrible night at Swiper's Inn, we found Fairway through their online booking website and were wow-ed by their:
1. Affordability (half of what i paid for Swiper's)
2. Upgrade to 1-bedroom suite which is near the guardpost, making it convenient to go in/out of resort without using their shuttle
3. Pristine private beach (meaning no unwanted touts, no rubbish, more security over leaving our items on the beach while enjoying the turquoise water, able to order yummy food directly to the beachside)
4. Friendly & efficient staffs (especially Ms Zet at the reception & a red-shirt driver whom I regretted didnt get his name, the only clue is he stayed next to the local police station, has 5 kids & some dogs) They stationed a guard at every villa block, making it safe & convenient to call for shuttle, i never waited for more than 5mins to take the shuttle)
5. Efficient shuttle to d-mart every hour (saving $ in taking tricycle)
6. in-room massage (ask for Michelle, she's very professional & skillful) which is absolutely convenient & enjoyable

however, they have areas to improve on as well:
1. The shower water was switching between hot, warm, lukewarm, cold during the whole shower even though we didn't adjust anything. so it was kinda hard to bath comfortably
2. Breakfast was slightly below average (the only nice food were rice noodle & freshly cooked omelets)
3. No room line in the room (i have to use my smart pre-paid sim card)
4. (not very sure) We started to develop small bites all over the body after 1st night of stay, suspecting it may be sand-flies (from beach) or bed bugs (from the bed) the bites didn't go away until we left Fairway & reach our own home.
5. No brochure/menu in the room for browsing of their facilities/services/in-room dining options. We only came to know of the spa centre (right infront of the beautiful beach) when we asked the driver, otherwise no other info was made available in the room. I only got to know about massage service after asking at the reception for a list of activities available.

Room Tip: If you want to enjoy the private beach, get it nearer to the Lobby. If you want ease of transport to...

The resort is exclusive so it gave us that feeling of privacy and we don't feel too claustrophobic because of the many buildings and establishments here and there. Although I came in a lean month, it makes a big difference to have such big area all to yourself, something I didn't expect in an island known to be such a party and busy place. The atmosphere is nice. Good views too..Tried the beach, and its same with main beach, even better because no drainage issues!:) Will come back here if given another chance... maybe on a summer?

Room Tip: Rooms that are in the villas are nice.

Being repeat visitors of Boracay, we tend to make comparisons on the location and the value of money we throw in for accommodation. We have tried the costlier types of accommodations and comparing to our recent stay in Fairways, we know that we threw in our money well with this resort. It has very spacious, clean and nice room facilities that makes it one of our most memorable vacation accommodations in the island. Villas maybe distant but the shuttle service complemented our stay and we don't mind some walking as well because view was amazing! I loved seeing greens and blues altogether! It is a very promising island resort and I love that we are avoiding too much of the crowd in the main beach... You get too tired of partying and mingling with people? Fairways is the best to have that pristine white beach ALL FOR YOURSELF! It is nice also to have the pools (both freshwater) and the activity areas for you and your family or with the other guests.. It gives that feeling of Exclusivity like what other high class resorts there offer, but for the best money value! WE would definitely come back here!:)

Room Tip: Villas facing the golf course are great views in the morning! Also for bigger families, get the 2-Be...

I stayed at the Pebble Beach apartments with my wife and her sister and adult daughter. We were hoping that the cooking facilities had improved as we wanted to cook our own meals using the lovely fresh ingredients available in Boracay. Alas, it was not to be. But we understand that there is an upgrading programme in place and eventually the kitchens will be up to standard. Found the staff to be friendly and engaging (obviously a new staff initiative). The resort itself is great and quite often have the pool to yourself. I have seen the golf course in better condition before so was a bit disappointed in that regards. The golf caddies are friendly and efficient (probably due to the efforts of caddie master Mike - hi). Overall, a great stay and will come back again if we can get our timeshare allotment. As regards to the shuttle, the guests really have to have themselves organised to be ready on time as the shuttle picks up pretty much at the scheduled time. Pedro S

The registration and concierge staff were friendly and helpful. The housekeeping staff in our unit were very friendly and helpful. From the time we arrived at the Caticlan Airport, they have the shuttle waiting for us by the door and the private boat that took us to Boracay. Very convenient since they were all ready and we did not have to wait to get to the resort check in desk. Our unit was brand new and we cannot use the kitchen yet. My husband and son enjoyed playing golf and we relaxed at the private beach. Clean and not crowded at all. They have shuttles to take you to the Station 1 and D mall every hours. Only complain is the distance of our unit to the main reception for breakfast, and to catch the shuttle to the different stations can get crowded. But our overall experience is very good and will highly recommend this place.

Room Tip: Good for Families, away from the beach crowd

June 5 to 9, 2012 were the dates of our end-of-summer trip to Boracay. I will recall the 'highs and lows' of staying in Fairways and Bluewater.

As of the service, I noticed the waiting staff in the dining area were very eager to please. I will single aout the swift and efficient service of our breakfast and poolside waiter Glenn, and our dinner waiter Jess.
On the last day though, one of the waiters said we could no longer use our breakfast vouchers (we had one more for 5 pax) this is because we used the first voucher the day we arrived, then the second the next day. Then on the third day we ate outside the hotel, at Real Coffee (we wanted to save the last voucher for the last day, and we were also getting tired of the breakfast at the hotel. The next day we had breakfast at the hotel, and on the last day we were told the breakfast stubs wer no longer valid since we did not use them consecutively!

Tipping: *Be sure to tip hotel employees at least PhP100 at a time (this is only USD2.00) A security guard told my husband that their take home pay is about 90PhPa day! (after employee meal charges). I am sure this info was not supposed to be revealed to guests.

Anyway we also had pretty efficient housekeeping service from Vince. Room service is actually swift as well, the cooking is standard and nothing memorable. But it will do when you have very hungry kids, post all-day swimming. Prices of the food in the hotel was pretty fair and not astronomical like some restaurants in main beach or White Beach.

I would say this resort has value for money. It isn't exactly new, and based on the awards they've received in the past (you will see them hanging in the club house), this property has seen better days. But you can't go wrong with the price.(100USD per night for 3 adults and 3 kids) I found the deal here, under Getaways: https://dealgrocer.com/private-sale

The room we stayed in was pretty spacious and cold. Please read my room review below.

Transfers: If you want to save some money on transfers, it is advisable not to avvail of the transfers offered by the hotel. From the airport to the hotel they will charge you PhP2600 (a little over 50USD for 6 pax). This we availed of and arranged from Manila. You are required to pay for this in advance. From the hotel to the Kalibo airport, the hotel was charging us PhP6000 (about USD142).
The hotel really tried to sell this transfer to us numerous times.
1)First when we arrived at the the Fairways and Bluewater station on the first day, they already offered this to us. I told them I would think about it.
2)Then when we checked in, again they did the same.
3,4 and 5)Then three times while checking out!
During the 4 days we were there, We discovered how to do the transfers independently. Take a shuttle from the hotel to the port (PhP350 for 6 pax), take a 10 minute boat ride from the port to the next port (PhP200 per pax), and hire a private Starex van upgrade at PhP800 -I advise this for families with kids.

Rent a horse: You can rent a horse at PhP700 an hour. Their horses are small and not too well trained. The front desk asked me to sign a waiver all the way up the front desk when the horse arrived. I was basking in the sun of the private beach when Black Beauty arrived. So I had no choice but to climb up 5 flights of stairs, when the staff could have sent the waiver down the beach thru the horse trainer. Grrr.

Location: You will have to take a 10-minute, complementary shuttle form the hotel to D'Mall Station 2. One leaves every hour to and from the hotel. if you would like to go on your own schedule, take a complementary shuttle to the front gate and catch a tricycle (PhP60-PhP70) to D'Mall. You may also choose to pay the hotel shuttle PhP350 from Fairways to D'mall. I did not mind this shuttling too much on the first two days. On the next two days, I got a bit tired of the shuttling.

Best takeaway: The unforgettably beautiful private beach, the crystal clean pools (there were 2) with a view. All in all, the family built wonderful memories on this trip.

Room Tip: I can only speak for Villa Margarita - Pros: there was a phone in room (unlike numerous reviews I...

We are timeshare owners for the past 10 years and have seen the slide in service and facility. The natural beauty of Paradise Cove, their private beach, the well maintained golf course, and the excellent service, kept us returning thru the years. Last year there was a noticeable improvement with new owners coming in. This year, new battery operated shuttles greeted us at the Airport and made our transfer to the Welcome Center smooth.
The smiling staff served us cold welcome drinks and took care of arrangements. As usual, the staff helped us to the boat, and also during disembarkation on the Island side. They facilitated the payment of P 100/person ( about 2 dollars) to the local government as Port terminal fee and off to the Main Lobby where we were given room keys for Villa 2101 and 2102, a Studio unit with an adjoining 1-BR apartment to make a 2BR apartment. The unit has been re-painted, and re-furbished with new aircons in the living / dining area and in both bedrooms. The whole apartment and the 3 sets of bathrooms were all very clean as usual because of their very dedicated housekeeping staff. I keep many pieces of P50 bills ( about a dollar) to distribute to all these good people as a thank you.
It was lunch time when we got settled down so instead of cooking, we decided to eat at the restaurant which last year was run by a famous concessionaire but this year is back to Fairways management. We ( 6 adults) had a good meal of crispy pata, pinakbet, lechon kawali, with garlic rice for a reasonable P 2,400. ( USD 60). After siesta, we were all in the private beach enjoying the crystal clear ocean, swimming and having fun with no one else around. I tried the swimming pool and it was nice and warm late in the afternoon.
A truly relaxing holiday in the privacy of your own beach and pool. We shall be back next year and will recommend to our friends who want to de-stress and relax.

Room Tip: Get the telephone number of the guard house so you can call for service using your celphone. They wi...
