Had a wonderful five night stay despite the rainy season. Loved everything from the food, service, transportation (from resort to D'mall, as well as airport transfers), and amenities! The staff members are pleasing, honest and helpful!

I love the Shangri La and when we can me and my family try the Shangri La in the countries where its available.
Thsi time was no different from previous experiences: just awesome. From the moment you arrive ath the resort you see smiling faces and efficiency. The rooms are excellent and the breakfast buffet is grand. It is a nice experience both for families than for couples. For singles I don't advise it too much since it's lacking some entertaiment for that type of guests.
There are daily activities for kids and adults and you bever get bored. The location is amazing with two private beaches and various swimming pools at your disposal.
The only things that need a bit of an adjustment is the prices of the food. A hot dog can cost as much as a steak in some countries and a mango shake as much as a glass of champagne when in the Philippines mangos are so cheap but it is after all the Shangri La that needs to support a whole structure and hundreds of staff.

I guess everyone on this island says Shangrila is the best hotel on the island. It probably is also the most expensive as well... So when you know you're paying top dollar, you'd expect a high standard and that is what we got during our stay. Staff are super friendly. It's the Filipino hospitality and nature :) We upgraded to a suite with spa on the balcony... Room was spacious but unfortunately didn't have much of a view to the beach... which was literally in front of us :)
Breakfast selection was only adequate compared to other 5 star hotels and would be great to see more Filipino food on the menu.
Overall a pleasant stay... We did stay on the other side of the island for a fraction of the cost and had just as much fun :)

I live in the philippines and I've been to different places but so far shangrila in boracay captured my heart. It's a paradise for me. Very peaceful, relaxing. Beach is perfect. Not crowded (private) not to mention the white sand. The hotel is a little bit expensive but it's all worth it. Also, it's far from from the busy crowded beach in station one or the mall. Which is just fine for me.

In Manila for business. Took fours days away in February with my wife to go to Boracay. Easy connections, boat to/from hotel worked great. World class views from the hotel room and excellent staff. Pool is great with lots of privacy and the beach is truly awesome. Restaurant food could be better, but service was always outstanding. Will go again if business takes me to Manila, but would likely avoid as a destination due to the hassle of flying through Manila airport.

We had a romantic get-away to Boracay, despite that it was monsoon season during our stay, we were blessed with sunny clear sky during our two-night stay at this resort.

When we were brought to the Tanawin (loft style) villa, we fell in love right away!!! It's really one of those picture perfect villas that you see in lifestyle & travel magazine, except this is REAL!!!!! We could see the crystal clear water in turquoise blue sea from the balcony and lounging around the infinity pool, with outdoor rain shower, it's a paradise!!!

The villa is more than spacious enough to accommodate both of us, we walk to the bedroom straight from the entrance; while the common room, pantry and inifinity pool are located at the lower level access by stairs. The ambiance and deco are warm and inviting, they have hired an ID with impeccable taste and style.

The resort is HUGE, so buggy is really the only way to go around. There are free shutter van that take resort guests to and fro the town, which is a big PLUS!!! That also shows the tight security of the resort to ensure utmost safety of the guests.

We also dined in the Italian restaurant, Rima and the food was superb! Really a world class eatery of its own, it doesn't hurt that it's located on the tree top with incredible sea view.

Of all the resorts we have been to, this is really the one that we benchmark against others.

The only reason I knocked one rating off because we found a strand of blonde hair in the private pool and both of us have dark brown hair, so they definitely don't belong to us!!!

Room Tip: Choose a room/villa near the buggy station for easier access
