“Ahhhh, so Romantic!”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

This whole property is so stunning. From the minute you arrive and are whisked away to the restaurant/bar of your choice..you are treated like royalty. We came here first for drinks. We missed sunset, so I think it you could make it here for that, it would be absolutely amazing! The service here is top notch, they call you by your name, and treat you like you are the most important person there! The views here are stunning, love the open bar, and the cute, raised booths for lounging , great for romance, even if I was there just with my friend! Prices were very reasonable too! great tapa menu and drink selection! stop here before dinner, or just for a drink and apps! Loved it!

“Great place to enjoy the sunset”
Reviewed 20 February 2014

Highly recommended by a local to enjoy the sunset there. And at a very affordable price, they have a free-flow of shagria between 4pm to 7pm (sunset hour). To get there, you can take a free shuttle to Shangrila. Once you reached, tell them you are heading to the solana bar. An inhouse buggy car will drive you to location. And that will be the start to your beautiful evening...

“Visited for the evening. Amazing meal with incredible service”
Reviewed 4 January 2014 via mobile

We were staying near the centre of Boracay (Boat Station 3) and, after recommendation from a work colleague who had stayed there, decided to go to the Shangri-La for dinner. We took one of the yellow taxi trikes from the Main Street for 120pp. It is quite a distance from the town centre and a bit unnerving to go along a dark road with no real idea where the hotel is (it is down a small road from the Eco Resort). You have to be dropped at the main gate and wait for an official minivan to come and pick you up, just tell the guard you are coming for dinner and he will call one for you. The van takes you to the main entrance and we had a couple of gin and tonics in the lobby bar. There are a number of restaurants in the hotel, of varying expense. We opted for the Solana above the pool. If you tell the porters at reception where you want to go then they will call a golf cart for you and the driver will take you down. The maître'd at the restaurant was incredibly friendly and we were given a private booth over looking the beach. We had a lovely meal for about 5,000pp. The service was impeccable as you would expect, Wynn our waiter was one of the friendliest people we had met during our time on the island, and that's saying something. On finishing we were able to walk around the gardens before taking the minivan back into town from reception. The minivan drops you back at D'mall, where I assume you could pick it up from instead of getting the trike at the start of the evening.

Well worth a visit as a little treat during your time on Boracay, just dress smart and expect to spend what you would for a nice meal in London, but for an experience and service of one of the best hotels in the world.

“Bonfire”
Reviewed 5 July 2013

Loved the bonfire that we had. A quiet bar with a great view of the sea. Not the usual party place with drunk people.

“Best sunset vantage point in Shangri-La, lovely coffee cocktails.”
Reviewed 27 November 2012

Solana Bar offers the best sunset views in Shangri-La Boracay and also overlooks Banyugan Beach, 1 of their private beaches. the tables are placed very strategically and most of them have a great view. When weather is good, it's a beautiful place to have a cocktail and even a meal.

Food is served from Sirena restaurant and is fantastic. Service at the Shangri-La Boracay is really on a whole different level. You can read more about this in my main review on Shangri-La Boracay itself.

We had a Bailey's Coffee which was very nice and just to name some of the food we had there was Clam Chowder, Mussel Gratin and Grilled Lapu-lapu. Everything was good. Ask for the sun-dried tomato dip for the bread, it rocks.
