Free breakfast included was simple but just what we needed. Prepared whenever we wanted it between the hours of 7 to 11am, enjoyed on our rooms private balcony. The owners Roy and Olivia along with all the staff were very friendly and accommodating, coming in to clean the room every two days.

Five of us stayed in a family room with one sleeping on a comfortable matress on the floor for 2750 peso a night. The hotel is down a quiet ally so we had no troubles with noise. Overall very happy for the prices!

Five of us stayed in a family room at Roy’s Rendezvous in June of 2013. Normally the capacity of the family room is four persons. We appreciated the fact that we were allowed an extra guest for P250 per night extra. Adding in this fee, plus taxes, our cost per night was P2,600 or about $US 65, breakfast for five included.

Overall, Roy’s is an excellent budget choice in Boracay. It’s not on the beach but the beach is only a short walk away. Access to Roy’s is not suitable for vehicles. It’s up a path from the main White Beach, so luggage has to be carried in. Roy’s had an employee stationed on the White Beach path who was there to help us with our luggage and with finding the resort. Not being on a road meant no traffic noise. There are several other resorts on the same trail including the highly-rated Dave’s Straw Hat. Watch for the Orchid’s Resort sign. It’s much easier to see than Roy’s sign.
The boat station three area is quiet compared to boat station two. For us that was a plus. Others may prefer to be closer to the night life action. It’s about a fifteen minute walk to the buzz of boat station two, perhaps a bit further to D’Mall (the main shopping area) and the Talipapa, the public market.

The six family rooms are in two modern two-story buildings. All have spacious verandahs and are surrounded by tropical gardens. Our family room was not large, nor was it cramped. It had two beds. One was a double bed, the other queen-sized. The double bed was comfortable, the larger bed less so. There was a ceiling fan and a brand new, very quiet air conditioner. The capacity of the unit was small for the room and initially struggled to get the room cooled down. There was no problem at night, once the unit had been running for an hour or two. The windows had good window screens so there was no insect problem. Aside from a few small ants, there were no bugs. That’s a tribute to good housekeeping. The only light was on the ceiling. There were no bedside lamps. As another reviewer stated there was only one electrical outlet, so we brought along a short extension cord which allowed us to plug in our gadgets.
Breakfast was included. You can negotiate the type of breakfast. We asked for a Filipino style breakfast; egg, rice and meat. In doing so we lost the pineapple, powdered mango juice and toast included in the regular Roy’s breakfast.

Others commenting on Roy’s have praised the geniality of the owners. Beneath the smiles we sensed pure business. Checkout time is 12 noon. We told the owners that we would check out earlier than that. Customers appeared very early seeking a room. We felt under pressure to check out as early as 7:30AM. Breakfast was not provided as it usually was. We were curtly told that we had no breakfast because we had not asked for it. They relented and gave us the breakfast. This left a bit of a bad taste in our mouths, but overall Roy’s is an attractive, well-managed option.
Finally, here is a trip for saving money on drinking water. If you are staying longer than a couple of days, don’t buy small bottles of water at the grocery stores. Go to a water refilling station and get a five gallon container for P80 delivered. We had to leave a P200 deposit, but it was refunded when we returned the empty container.

Our comments are cost adjusted. We compare accommodations with other accommodations of the same type. Hence, if we give five stars to a budget place we feel it’s a top budget place, but not five star compared with the Shangri-La or Peninsula.

Room Tip: The bungalows are more private than the two-story buildings containing family rooms

Roy's wife was very-very friendly and welcomed us. She helped us with a taxi, cooked a dinner for us and she gave us a plant (aloe) when we were sunburned. Staff were polite.
The room was basic and clean, the surrounding area was a lot of green. Beds were comfy and the air con worked well. There is also a nice hot shower.
Breakfast (in my opinion, the best in Phills) consisted of toast, butter, jam, 1/4 of pineapple, powdered mango juice, coffee or tea.
We had nice sleepy nights. The hotel locates on second line from the beach, so there are not so noisy and not bystanders.
It was super-peak season and almost no empty room, that's why we tried both bungalow and standard room. They both are very comfortable.

Spent a week there in one of the family rooms (room 2). Roy and his wife are very friendly and welcomed us. The room was basic and clean, as was the surrounding area. Beds were comfortable and the air con worked well. There is also a nice hot shower. Breakfast consisted of toast, butter, jam, slice of fruit (usually pineapple), powdered mango juice, coffee or tea. Staff were polite but not as friendly as Roy. There is a boat vendor there (Jason) who will organise any trip you wish.
The main negative we found was the noise at night. Of the 7 nights we were there, we only had 1 undisturbed night's sleep. The room windows are of the louvre style, so any noise outside easily gets into the room. The reception area is outside and is directly opposite the family rooms 1 & 2. The reception opens at around 6am with plenty of noise being made, we also had noisy neighbours on 3 nights, rooms 1 & 2 have an adjoining door which means you can easily hear someone talking in the room next door. As a result we generally didn't get to sleep until later than planned and got woken up much earlier than we would have liked.
We have previously stayed at Dave's Straw Hat, just around the corner this is a much friendlier place and quieter, you are made to feel part of the family there, but they were fully booked. As the noise issue spoilt the trip for us, if we go to Boracay again, we would chose Dave's and book them earlier.

Room Tip: Take ear plugs!

We spent two lovely weeks of peace and quiet. I recommend this place to people, who want to relax, no looking for luxury, but want to spend a holiday in a small family hotel. Beautiful beach is 50 meters away and that's what I went to the island. Hotel has simple and clean rooms with fan or air conditioning, TV..Accommodation with breakfast or without. You can order a meal at a good price! Homemade delicious omelets, spaghetti, etc...

Room Tip: Higher floor in main building is quiet, good for sleep.

We booked Roy's Rendezvouz mainly because of the price but it turned out to be a really pleasant surprise and we would certainly stay again if we ever return to Boracay.
Set back only 100m or so from the beach, Roy's is in the slightly quieter station 3 area but still only 5-10minute walk to the heart of the cafes and nightlife.
The rooms are very spacious and well appointed, extremely clean and comfortable. Breakfast (fresh fruits, toast, jams, coffee, fruit juice) was excellent and served on our balcony: a great way to start the day.
The lovely couple who own this place (Roy and Olivia) went out of their way to help us even when we turned up unannounced a day early and late at night. Despite being fully booked, Roy ran around (in his pajamas!) finding us a room close by for a similar price and when we finally checked into Roys the next day they even gave us breakfast on arrival which technically we were not entitled to! They also gave us a good map of the area and local paper. We found nothing to be too much trouble and everything was done with a smile. Definitely recommended

I booked the room for 2 nights & wanted to transfer on the 2nd day because it was so humid & there was no airconditioning! We checked the other local hotels & found there are also rooms in town with the same rate & even closer to the beach!

However, the owner was so sweet, so we decided to stay. However, I had to asked her to change the beddings because I think it was used by the previous occupant.

Breakfast for P120 is "highway robbery" because it only consists of 3-in-1 Instant Coffee, 2 slices of Toast Bread, butter, jam & a slice of pineapple! Both on the 2 days!

Room Tip: good for backpackers & teenagers! or those who does not need airconditioning when sleeping.
