It looks like an old colonial mansion rather than hotel. And this hotel is not close to the beach, but Balighai beach is several minutes on foot.
The scene from the spacious Balcony was splendid. The room and the bathroom were also very spacious.
One-way transportation service was very helpful through the stay.
When I had a unexpected trouble of flight reschedule, the flexible supports of the staffs were so helpful.
Unfortunately, balcony was not breezy enough to hang about or read when I stayed.
The restaurant was available, but a bid harder for a solo traveler to book 2 hours in advance the meal for 2 persons.

A bit off the beaten path from the beaches which can make you feel a bit detached. We paid for the extra service of airport pickup which might help since its relatively high in the hills. But van or tricycle service was always available to go to the main beaches or elsewhere. We asked to move to a room with a view but the garden room for two was just as beautiful. Rooms are furnished tastefully and clean. Ants were around at times but that's the least of your worries in the Philippines;). Breakfasts at the terrace with the beach below catching the morning light was perfect for us. There's even a private set of pools and a tiny private cove beach a hike down that is worth it for a quiet and private dip. I want to return!!!

Everything was perfect on this trip, the communication with manager Paul beforehand, who helped me organize diving, transports, spas, a birthday party, everything that we needed help with basically. All staff were fantastic and incredibly helpful, spoke english and were efficient and always smiling. Great breakfast and good cocktails as well.
Transport to white Beach or Shangri La was provided, and Paul had fantastic recommendations for restaurants and water sports. A highly recommended hotel, fantastic views of the sunset from our Villa, and a well kept secret: the house beach Balinghai just down the hill, which is basically empty as opposed to White Beach. There is also a little bar and restaurant down there.

Room Tip: Ask Paul for the rooms with best views, but in general there are terraces and rooftops everywhere wi...

Having just returned from Boracay I can seriously recommend staying at the Argonauta Boracay. Our villa was fantastic, the location and views were near perfect. The staff were just amazing and willing to arrange and help out with all of our requests including the shuttle to "run" us into White Beach whenever we liked but also to help arrange a birthday party for one of our friends we were travelling with. It is a true gem!!

As we all know, Boracay has rapidly developed and the tourists that flock to the island during the peak season has been overwhelming. Some may argue the island is no longer the relaxing getaway from the city buzz as it too is becoming hugely populated during holidays.

This is what I like about Aragonauta Boracay, it treats you to a different Boracay experience as peace and serenity is guaranteed. Then you may experience the Island hustle and bustle at any time should you decide to go down the shore. By staying in Aragonauta Boracay, you get the best of both worlds in your Boracay experience. Truly a vacation in a vacation :)

I stayed here in January 2012, my review is a little late but very valid. I am an avid vacation enthusiast and I found the Argonauta Boracay Resort to be near perfect. The location is above and apart from the loud, busy lifestyle of white beach, Boracay. Strategically placed, the hotel provides some of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen, and also access to a small beach/cove whichcontained some exotic coral, fish and other wildlife. The spacious rooms are very comfortable, clean and inviting. As well as some of the best showers around! (you'll understand after travelling a long time) Staff is very acccomodating and the food was delicious! The GM certainly knows his way around the island and can be very informative for what kind of activities a guest may seek. It is an incredible experience and over all the best vacation I have had to date. A DEFINITE RECOMMENDATION!
