Just spent 4 days in Boracay and dived 3 times with Sea World (our dive master was called Marion and she was great too!) We have Open Water certification.

We loved the personal attention - when we walked in Marion talked to us about the area and signed us up for a dive the next day. She then dived with us each day so she got to know us and vice versa, and each time it was her with just the 2 of us so very good attention / ratio. Although there were other people on the boat when you got in the water you were along and we rarely saw other divers. She pointed out lots of fish, coral etc and took the time to write up our log nooks with us after. Very relaxed, chilled dive centre and fair prices.

What could be better? Equipment - our wetsuits were pretty old and we were given a broken mask - as long as you know what to look for and check before leaving the shop not a problem...! Also our instructor had to lend me her BCD one day as they had run out, and a few times we had to wait 20mins to get weights which delayed the boat. However I don't doubt the safety of the equipment. Finally, the receptionist was pretty unfriendly but this was noticeable as everyone else was so nice!

I would definitely recommend them and would use them again without hesitation.

I took my PADI Emergency First Response, PADI Rescue Diver and PADI Divemaster with Master Peter Tay of Sea World Dive Center Boracay Philippines. The first and only PADI Career Development Center in Boracay Island. Master Peter Tay have over 20years of teaching experiences and he is indeed a Master, giving me knowledge about being a PADI Divemaster. I enjoyed his instructions and strongly recommend anyone who is looking for an experience instructor to learn and dive with Master Peter Tay.

My teenage son and I had 3 dives with James McCann and his team on 3 consecutive days, and everything went very well and we had a great time. They were generally pretty thorough in preparation for the dives although they did expect you to know what you were doing (you are certified, after all). All the equipment was excellent, boat was great, and I liked the fact that we were always a small group for the 0900 dive - never more than 3 others, although later groups seemed to be larger. Its also easy 5 minute walk from the dive center to the boat, along White Beach. Great experience overall, and not expensive.

My first review on here but I felt I had to comment on the service we received from this company. My partner and I spent a week in Boracay in May and had a fantastic time. I've previously done some diving (adv open water), first time for him but he wanted to give it a try so off we walked down white beach to find a place to give him an intro (i think PADI call it discover scuba). There are a lot to choose from but we came across Sea World and were pretty impressed, we had a long chat with a young Pinoy manning the entrance who was very friendly and professional, so we decided to go with them the next day. Big mistake.

We were promised that the tuition would be in English, and we paid extra to have photos taken. Unfortunately when we arrived they seemed to have overbooked and it took a lot of effort for someone to finally remember they had taken our booking the previous day. Because of this, their English speaking instructor (Korean chap) left us to goand teach a Korean couple instead. No other English speaking instructors were available, however, they had a Filipino (Tagalog speaking) 'instructor' who we reluctantly accepted as we had been looking forward to diving. Being British I am of course hugely ignorant and can't speak any Tagalog, my partner can speak Illongo so we figured we'd get by, and I sat in silence while things were explained very nervously. I was slightly surprised when less that 7 minutes later the explaining stopped. It turned out the Korean couple had got there some time before us and their instructor was impatient to get moving, so we were hurried along. Alarm bells started ringing for me at this point, but I figured they'll do more training on the boat, plus I had no idea what had actually been said, plus it's only an intro dive-what can go wrong?!

We spent maybe 20 seconds underwater in the shallows (the sea was far too rough to be attempting this as a storm was passing) and then it was off on their boat to the dive site. At this point I was getting seriously concerned as it turned out even absolute fundamentals (i.e. don't hold your breath) hadn't even been mentioned! I can't even list the stuff that my partner wasn't told but it included a lot of basic prerequisites for a safe dive including how to get in the water from a boat, how to check guages, even any mentioned of how to use a BCD or that there was a reserve regulator. In the end I told my partner to ignore these jokers and I showed him what to do.

The diving itself was great but unfortunately they only took photos of the Korean couple (although we did at least get our photo money back after complaining). Lots of other stuff I could comment on but this is already too long and writing an essay on a tablet sucks :)

Philippines is great for diving, but unless you're Korean I'd go elsewhere.
