We stayed for two nights in one of the fan cottages which we found to be generally comfortable. The owner is very friendly and helpful and the staff is generally outstanding as well. We found the cottage to be a little too dark and humid, though on paper everything sounds great. Next time, we might consider the rooms, which seem to be a better value. Location is away from the partying and is quiet. The resort (a very large word for this place) is next to several other budget type hotels, all of which seem like decent options. The garden is lovely. We were here in low season and could see that there were a lot of vacancies in the area, worth bargaining if you are into that sort of thing. Nice stretch of beach within a 5 minute walk, though about 20-25 mins to D'Mall and bar action.

Wifi was extra 50p per day, cable tv was an extra 100p...easily arranged if you want that option...during rainy season it was definitely a guilty pleasure for us.

We booked three cottage and the No. 20 is the biggest because there are two beds. The staff are all very nice and helped us a lot. We used the public kitchen to cook seafood with a fare fee. Although there is no air-conditioner, there is a fan and it is not so hot. The only problem is one day there is a strong fishy smell close to our cottage because the staff didn't clean the garbage in time. In all, this is a budget place to stay but a little far from D'mall and crowded people.

Room Tip: Cottage No. 20 is bigger than the other two cottages.

We thank the guests for this timely response. Yes, we had just reopened these two rooms after rebuilding the bathroom and replacing the native materials for the walls. It seems that the deodorant we used did not offset the freshness smell of new raw native materials. Thanks again for the review. Mr. Turner/owner

Staid in Orchids during my weekend escape from Manila.
I always stay in that part of the island because it is less crowded, quiet, and more authentic Boracay.
I simply walked in without reservation and they had a very affordable room available.
The draw for me was traditional-like wooden construction that I never experienced before and lush garden. It turned to have negatives: no sound isolation, you can hear TV in the next room; there was a prior leak in the bathroom ceiling that created mold, heavy smell of mold was in the room.
Service was friendly, accommodating, but sloppy.

Room Tip: Shop around.

Our cabana room was cute. I can definitely say I feel very cultured after staying here, as the rooms are made with natural bamboo and nipa. Very unique in comparison to other hotels in the area. It's hard to beat as it is extremely cheap pricing for such a beautiful area. We had a delicious breakfast every morning and one of the staff members helped us book outside excursions with discounts! She was well informed of the area and always walked us to find certain areas.
