This afternoon after we took the long walk from the white beach, we decided to sit in front of the beach or swimming pool and ordered some drinks. But they closed all of the chairs and umbrellas at 5pm. No place can sit and there's a rain shower this afternoon. We then went to a table in the open air resturant but the waiter told us the tables are reserved for the dinner at 7pm. Imagine that, we and 2 children suddenly didn't know where we can go. There's no place we can sit in the public area of the hotel. All of the umbrella near the benches were closed and it's raining. No one intended to help. Finally, we decided to go back to the room directly.

I stayed with a couple of friends a the Discovery Shores in Boracay and we were really treated like royalty. From the moment we got out of the plane, there was a van waiting for us and the very friendly driver helped us with our luggage. We were taken to a private boat pier where the Discovery Shores boat was waiting to take us to the island. As soon as we got there a van was waiting and staff were very helpful with the luggage.

We were driven to the hotel and the first thing that we did was have a late lunch. The food was very good (not great, but pretty good) but the best part was the view. The sun was shining and the sand on the beach was blindingly white. It was a different world altogether.

The room was very comfy, and we were upgraded to a suite because it was the low season. The pool was fantastic and we particularly enjoy the donuts and drinks they serve for free to hotel guests. There are also staff everywhere to assist us with our every wish and we really appreciate it because they all seemed genuinely pleased to help.

Will definitely recommend this to anyone going to Boracay and I will absolutely go back there again!

Room Tip: Get suites with a hot tub on the balcony!

Their service truly has a personal and seemingly genuine touch/feel to it. You are met directly at the airport so no guessing what's next. Upon arrival at the resort you're again met and escorted directly to your room where you are checked in and not at the lobby. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. when lying on the beds at the beach or the pool staff fold your shirts and arrange your sandals/slippers. Without asking, a glass of ice cold water and a extra bucket of ice appears at your side and you are given complimentary snacks (even in the room) and slices of cucumber and oranges to put on your eyes while getting a tan.
Try and stay there during the months of Jan- May or Oct - Dec. We were just lucky weather wise. A typhoon passed a day before our arrival..Day 1 was a bit cloudy but days 2-3 all pure sunshine

Room Tip: Try and get the 2nd floor rooms facing the pool.

We were a group of 13 (4 families) & stayed in 2 - 2 bedroom suites in the 2nd & 3rd floor of the resort. Besides the 1 hour delay in check-in (our rooms were still being cleaned) & the location of the rooms (which was a bit of a walk from the beach, restaurant & pool) - everything else was very good!

The suites are very spacious, well maintained and clean.

The pool was not that large but we rarely stayed there as the beach was just a few steps away & once we went in the clear waters .. we never really wanted to leave.

Our package included breakfast buffet and it was superb. A lot of food to chose from.
The buy one take one Mojito & Margarita on the beach front in the afternoon is a must try.

My 3 year old son got into a little "freak" accident and i really appreciated how caring and concerned everybody was. They even sent him chocolate ice cream & beach toys to make him "forget" what happened.

Service was always with a smile. Very happy we stayed in Discovery Shores!

Will definitely go back again!

I had the opportunity to stay at Discovery Shores on a 3-day trip with my family and fiancé and we were just completely blown away by the service offerings and amenities that this resort hotel provided.

It started as soon as they brought us to the island via an exclusive port/boat.
Their receiving area was welcoming and their staff very courteous. Since there were six of us, we stayed in connecting junior suites (which to our delight, overlooked the swimming pool). The room was just as it was pictured on their website, and even more spacious.

Here are all the details I loved:

- As soon as we arrived at the hotel, a guest officer gave us a tour of their amenities, pointing out where to find places we might want to use/visit during our stay such as the gym, karaoke room, and library, among others
- They took our photo before bringing us to our room (and on our last night, a framed printout was left it on our room
- After they ensured that all our bags have been transferred to our room, they offered us all a foot spa/foot rub
- Welcome snacks and drinks were all laid out at the coffee table, along with tiny VMV Armada face and body sun block
- A van was offered to pick us up and drop us off at any point we wanted. (The hotel is a bit far from Station 2 where all the shops are but with the free van service it wasn't a problem - there was typo on their card though, make sure to ask the reception for the number to call for pick up)
- While on the beach the staff would offer you drinks or bring you water every once in a while, and they even folded the shirts/cover-ups we discarded on the lounge chair neatly
- A snack/juice bar was set up across the pool for anyone who wanted it
- In the afternoons, they would make up your room and fold your towels into animal shapes (my favorite was the dog, with cut out paper for eyes and tongue) and again, leave you snacks and juice
- They set up the karaoke room for us even if it was already closed (at 11 pm)

The food at the hotel is also superb! They had everything you could ever want for breakfast at the buffet (which comes free with the room). We also dined there for dinner and we weren't let down, starting from the soup, entree and down to the dessert!

We seriously did not want to leave by the end of our third day. Though the rates at Discovery is steep compared to the other resorts it is so worth it. I would recommend it to those who are willing to splurge and newlyweds.

these are the things that make discovery shores even better than a usual five star hotel: a) free shuttle to and from the hotel to other locations on the island, b) first class boat transfer to and from the jetty port, c) foot massage in addition to the usual welcome drinks, d) the extra services (icy cold wet towels, super delish pink drinks, cucumber slices, cold water, lens cleaner), e) turn down service, f) the "origami" towels that you do not really want to use,

This is a very nice hotel to stay, especially for couples. Loved the room, service, swimming pool and of course its beach ! A quiet and beautiful beach, it presents a different feelings from other beaches in Boracay. We spent lots time on the beach and the staff there were very sweet and helpful to provide towel, ice water, snacks and their friendly service. Nice room service as well, we had lunch and dinner in the room. Loved loved loved this resort, will definitely be back !
