The hotel staff were excellent and extremely helpful when we arrived as our room was one with a double bed and we needed a twin bedded room. They were full but did their best to find us a different room. Our agents were at fault having booked us the wrong room but one of the staff stayed an extra 2 hours that evening trying to sort it for us. As it was it didn't get sorted until the following day but the staff were lovely all the way through. Breakfast is taken at a restaurant 3 mins walk away but that didn't matter as the food was probably one of the best breakfasts we'd had.The garden and small pool is excellent and being away from the beach front you didn't get the noise at night.

Location is not a problem, it is situated in 3mins away from the beach front and 5mins walk on the main road. Staff are all attentive.
The place itself is a place you can relax, because of the luscious garden/jungle like environment away from the busy bars on the front beach. Our room on the 2nd floor with a balcony facing the pool area and it was good.

Location midway between main road and beachfront, a 3-minute walk to the beach. Unpretentious lobby entrance opens up to quiet gardens, so you're shielded from beachfront noise at night. Big room, huge comfortable beds, shower pressure consistently good, and free wifi (if your room's near the pool). Then you get to enjoy beachfront amenities of sister resort Calypso, i.e., beach beds with umbrellas and very attentive guard to watch over your things and ward off outsiders while you swim. Staff go out of their way to help with any problems.

Downside:
1. It's the first hotel I've been to that does not have a phone or even an intercom in-room, so service staff cannot be on call in case of problems or emergencies.
2. Aircon not cool enough for the big room there was no use for blankets. Reported it to front desk on the first night but seemed there was nothing they could do about it. Even with a comfortable bed it's hard to sleep in a warm room esp. if you've been out in the sun.
3. There was a 20-minute power outage on our third night and the genset was able to light up only the gardens; no aircon or in-room light whatsoever. And no in-room phone or intercom ...

Overall this hotel is good. Our room was right next to the pool, towards the back of the resort so it was nice and peaceful. To get to the beach (or breakfast at the sister resort of calypso) you have to walk about 150m which was fine for us.

The rooms themselves were fine nothing special but the bathrooms need a really good clean - if i can see mould on the walls so can you Mr Cleaner! Some new furniture and a coat of paint and the rooms could be really great.

Overall the price of rooms in boracay at this time of year is steep so we picked this resort knowing it wouldn't be luxurious but with a refreshing pool and adequate rooms it was fine.

We stayed at Pinjalo just before Christmas 2011.
We had an amazing stay - the staff we very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as easy and comfortable as possible.
The room we were given offered everything that we wanted ;-)
The location just off white beach made for a quiet and relaxing resort and the use of the sister resorts beach really did offer the best of both worlds ;-) Thank you for helping to make our trip to the Boracay,Philippines amazing.

After spending three days at the fantastic Pinjalo Resort on Boracay I feel compelled to write this review. Usually I don't bother as I figure I have paid for the service and that's that!! This time is different - my infant son, my wife, her teenage sister and myself shared the incredibly spacious Deluxe Suite - though relatively expensive for Boracay - it was genuinely like a home away from home. Large bedroom and bathroom on the same level as a beautiful airey living area and dining area with a large round table with six chairs. The spacious well equipped kitchen had everything you'd need - rice cookers, good sized fridge, 4 burner gas stove/oven, and with an infant, the incredibly convenient microwave. Upstairs was a large bedroom and bathroom - like the bedroom downstairs with a split system aircon and cable tv. Breakfast was included in the rate.

Now for the main reason for writing this: As i was about to board my Airphilexpress plane I realised i had left my passport in the inroom safe-sending me into a panic as it would make it a bit difficult to take my flight back to Australia without it. With help from the airline staff a phone call was made and whilst time meant my passport didn't reach me before leaving Caticlan (local airport) it was on the next flight - being delivered to me at Manila airport an hour after landing.
Many thanks to Management and Staff at Pinjalo Resort and it's sister property Calypso Resort for such profesionalism - I am very gratefull.

Whenever we go to the Philippines, Boracay is a MUST for one of our stops. Last time we were there, it was definitely a refreshing break from Hong Kong, Macau & Manila. That was the 3rd time we stayed in Pinjalo. We love the location. Yes, it's not right on White Beach, but it's close enough. Location gives you the best of both worlds of being close to the action & fun of Station 2 (D Mall & the Talipapa) & yet provides you with some seclusion. There is a pool in the facility where my family loves to hang out at in the afternoons. Service of the employees is great as they are quick to repsond & eager to please.
A suggestion would be to get thicker curtains that can block out some of the light as we are on vacation & want to much to sleep in or take a siesta.
Also, they need electric mosquito repellant gadget in the rooms. We do leave the sliding doors open during the day to enjoy the fresh ocean breeze. By twilight when we close the doors, the mosquitos stay :( The facility does provide a mosquito coil that you can burn to get rid of them but would prefer something not so primitive.
Will definitely be back.
