My husband wanted to book a surprise long weekend trip to Sentosa Island in Singapore. Unfortunately, Sentosa is a popular place so trying to find a room last minute was difficult (he was thinking hardrock hotel initially - a hotel you can NOT book last minute - too popular!). Anyway, Hotel Michael had vacancy so thats why we ended up in this hotel.

Check in was immediate, and we were provided with an upgraded room.
This room was large, with a very large bathroom which was seperated into zones for toilet, dressing area, bathroom and shower area. Very clean, tidy and spacious - delightful. Robes & slippers provided.

The main room had a very large king bed (which provided a blissful sleep - I can not stress how good it was) and two lounge seating areas with dining table. The TV was about a 46inch flat screen that was on a bracket that could swing for viewing in bed or from the couches - great.

The minibar was well stocked, and unlike most hotel rooms, a sink and decent bench space was provided by the minibar / tea & coffee making facilities. A decent coffee maker was also provided (we made a better coffee in the room than the perculated option provided at breakfast!).
We ordered room service on a couple of occasions, which came without any real delay.

Breakfast was buffet. Nothing special about it. Standard mix of asian and western provisions.

The hotel is located to the main thoroughfare through the Sentosa sites, so no issues with getting to and from the hotel, or finding eateries etc.
One great thing about the restaurants near by was we could charge back to our room - brilliant. e.g. had a great burger in Hardrock cafe - charged back to our hotel account. Would we stay again? Yes (even though I was a fan of the colour scheme...)

This hotel is classed as 5* but doesn't live up to the accolade by any stretch of the imagination.
Thankfully, I did not pay to stay here as it was part of a work trip but would certainly think twice before recommending Michael to any business travelers.
Location - tucked into a small corner overlooking some of the other hotels flanking Universal Studios. A 5-10 minute walk to the centre of the park. No view. Average
Service - non existant. Reception weren't particularly helpful and the maid service entered the room without knocking at 9am the following morning.
Value - crazy Singapore prices
Sleep Quality - poor, my double room turned out to be two 3/4 beds at opposite ends of the room. too little for two.
Cleanliness - average. Bit of a musty smell and the bathrooms are very dark.
Rooms have very little natural light.

Most bizarre of all was the hideous decor in the style of Michael...., an unknown artist with a bland palette of beiges and terra-cotta which he apparently used to paint different types of 3-dimensional objects.
It was hard to get any real rest in this musty, dark, warm room with small beds, surrounded by pictures of yellow pyramids and orange cylinders.

avoid.

Room Tip: choose a different hotel - Hard Rock is your best bet for Resorts World

The hotel is great... But there is no taxis allowed to standby...caused us to wait and book for taxis... Their limousines are next to it... Made me wonder if it is to create business for them... Hard rock hotel allows taxi to standby...

The Hotel is located in the Island of Sentosa in Singapore the location of the Hotel is relly good with Eateries and Signature Resturants within walking distance max 5 minutes. The Hotel however is not maintained upto the mark and the service does not match the price they charge.
The Rood Service Menu is really bad , A hotel which is to service guest who are on a holiday or have come to play in the Casino will have odd hours of returning to their room , and naturally would love to have a bit let it be 2 AM in the night or 4 PM in the evening the Room service menu should cover all walks of Foods from Chineese to Indian to Continental but it is not.
The Toilets are not fully equiped with toiletries like shaving Razor , etc.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the Resturants that is the south side are better for Solo traveller as he can find some acitvity happening when he opens the curtains .
