The decor looks a bit stale and the ceiling lampshades in the foyer were very dusty - the breakfast lounge overlooks them. After reviewing the prospectus, it turns out the hotel is only open since January 2010 but feels much older. The service at reception was slow. The bedrooms were quite dark and the lighting was low so it never felt uplifting or gave off a happy, child friendly atmosphere. The loft bed was a lovely touch to the room, the kids enjoyed that. We stayed in most nights as we have children and when we looked for 2 wine glasses for the room the staff were taken aback and charged us for them too! Never had this happen before in any hotel worldwide.
Breakfast was mediocre, it finished at 10:30 and by 10:25 the chefs were clearing up and putting the food warmers away. The beverages had to be ordered at a counter in the back of the room, service slow and coffee was awful, tea was worse. No wifi in rooms disappointing in this day and age. Sister hotel 'Hard Rock' was a much more appealing hotel with so much more to offer. The pool at the Festive was closed one evening from 6pm to all guests as they had a private conference group booked in to make use of the pool side & all residents were told they could not use the pool.More
