I read some mixed reviews of the hotel so I went there with mixed expectations. But the hotel was a very pleasant surprise. The rooms (we had 1 with a forest view and 1 with the city view) were extremely spacious with huge balconies. The views were great if not spectacular. Take the forest view if you need peace and quiet, take the other side if you need a city skyline view. Only disappointment was the room was not ready at 5pm although the check in time was 2 and we had to wait about 30 mins. Room service is a bit slow but the staff are excellent. I definitely recommend the place for a nice peaceful stay in Sentosa.

Stayed here for a night for quick getaway from bustling singapore.

Check in was really really slow, it took about 30-35 mins but good thing is that there are chairs to sit during the check in.

Were given a city view room. Satisfied with the large room plus the double basin which is very practical. Aircon might be too cold even though i adjusted to the highest temp. Big sofa, big balcony and easy access to Adventure cove waterpark.

However i found a mineral bottle was placed among complimentary drink that has already opened and used as water level about third quater of full. A bit disgusting but i still enjoy my stay. Complimentary parking for those who drive and shuttle service to go RWS (this hotel far from everywhere)

Room Tip: choose city view as you can see the water park

Second time to stay here at Equarius.. We chose this hotel because we had a great experience when we went here last february. The hotel is a great choice for relaxation.. We requested for an early check in facing the city/cable cars and we were granted. The front desk staffs are very courteous and welcoming. The one thing i really like is the very spacious room and bathroom! (I think its the only hotel that offers the biggest deluxe room).. The amenities as well as the facilities are well-kept and maintained (since it is still one of the newer hotels in sentosa). Breakfast buffet offers a variety of asian and western foods.. Overall - great hotel, spacious, relaxing and value for money.. definitely recommending this hotel! We'll be coming back!^^

An unpleasant 3D2N stay from 2-4Nov. Really spoil my holiday mood.

Below what I have encounter and like to share with you...

1) A very inconsiderate hotel as room has carpet hump in the middle of the room that cause us to trip few times. It is just waiting for accident to happen as they even claim mine room is an "elderly room". It is room hazard. Wondering why the staff cannot detect and remedy since they clean the room every day.

2) Bad room service. Need 2nd call and more than an hour to clear the plates in room. Reason given by Front desk manager is that hotel has shortage of staff. Thus, quality of service has been compromise.

3) Bad housekeeping. Room was not make up despite button pressed before return to room 5 hours later. I was told that I need to press button and call service desk to have the room make up. Was told by the staff that the housekeeping button has no use.

4) Poor front desk and system. Door lock out on 2nd day as door key need to go reception to enable for the 2nd day. It was not mention during check in.

5) Room power trip and faulty socket at beverage point. Need to boil water at other socket point

6) Poor info provided by unfriendly staff at ESPA. When we asked about hotel pool location. We were told there are no toilet or changing room but actually there are one.

There is nothing to compliment this hotel other the room is big. You cannot imagine a 5 star hotel to provide this level of facility and service.

I stayed there for 2 nights during my birthday and things turned out bad the moment we checked in.

The front desk staff had not idea about the ESPA package that we booked and did not even bother to find out the details. When she did the room tour, I was shocked to find out that there are cigarette butts in the patio (We booked a room with a patio/garden). She sort of needed to prepare a welcome juice for us in the room and ended up leaving all mess behind after her preparation. When we asked to have bath salts (since it's an ESPA package), the front desk staff had no idea and it never came.

After going to the water park, we needed to have additional shampoos and shower gels to rinse our body. We ended up having to wait for 1 hour and made 3 calls for the shower gels to be delivered. To our shock, instead of delivering the small bottles of ESPA shower gels that were in the bathroom, they sent us two BIG bottles of the generic Resort World Sentosa shower gels. I was not sure whether they had difficulty understanding what we needed or not.

In short, highly disappointed by our experience there, considered the price we paid and we were there on a week day. Definitely would avoid staying there. I never had such a terrible experience with other non Resort World Sentosa hotels on the island. Stay away!

The following are our observations on our experience at this hotel from Oct 22-25, 2013.

1. Check-in procedures. We had made reservations for three rooms. Check-in is 1500hrs. We arrived at 1445hrs on a Tuesday where there are not many guests checking in since it's the middle of the week. There was no apology that by 1500hrs they were still processing our check-in and only one room was available. We had to wait until 1530hrs for the second room, despite having two young children (one of them is a 13-month-old infant) and an elderly couple in our party. We left for some food and returned later and even then the staff had not made a set of access cards for us and we had to wait some more for the front office to program the access cards to the third room. We saw an even longer line of people checking in on Friday afternoon (approx. 1430hrs). Also, the hotel did not notice that we had driven ourselves to the hotel and parked in the basement although they received us at the drop-off area at the front door. Parking is free for guests (one vehicle per room) but we had to proactively ask for the free parking pass to get out of the basement parking.
2. Room. Bathroom shower stall has MILDEW (at least in room 710). There are cleaning products out there that can easily deal with this problem in less than 30 minutes (we use it in our own home) and for this grade of hotel, we expect much better.
3. In-room internet and WiFi. Internet is not free in this hotel. We saw that there is a very nicely laid out set of instructions and internet access packages of varying prices displayed in the rooms. What we have also observed is that there are many hotels and restaurants in this region that provide complimentary internet service. We certainly did not expect that internet access is an additional charge on top of the prices we had to pay for room and board. Needless to say, we did not use any internet service from the hotel because we felt this was an underhanded technique to squeeze out a few bucks from the guests.
4. In-room entertainment. The in-room entertainment system is nicely done up (intuitive interface typical of say, an in-flight entertainment system like Singapore Airlines), perhaps better, and they also have a second TV screen (with separate remote control) in the bathroom. A downside we noticed was that there were no English movie channels from the selection of available/free channels in the room (there is one, maybe more Chinese/Cantonese movie channels). English movie titles are available on a pay-on-demand basis. We felt that there should be at least one movie channel from the available/free system and that having English movie channels by on-demand basis was also an underhanded technique to squeeze out a few bucks from the guests.
5. The rest. If the hotel management had not ruined our first impression of the hotel with the crappy check-in procedure, we would have been much more willing to highlight the other positive points of this hotel but we'll list out a few things here to be fair:
a. Large and nicely appointed rooms (except for the mildew) with a nice view of HarborFront Center (cruise ship docking) and a small water park where we could see dolphins swimming in one of the pools.
b. Spacious parking basement (make sure you get the free parking pass if you're a guest 'cuz they're not going to hand it to you if you don't ask).
c. Quiet swimming pool. Almost deserted except for the occasional swimmer. Water is warm due to the dark tiles that absorb heat from the day. Pool shape is irregular but long enough to do ~50m laps but a bit hard to keep a straight line--no biggie.
d. Shuttle service. There's a shuttle service operated by the resort (RWS group of hotels) that bring guests from the sister hotels to the Festive Walk (Hotel Michael) area where most of the entertainment and food is, which we guess leads to other parts of Sentosa via the island-operated bus service (we didn't explore this). We noted that although the shuttle service only officially starts at 1000hrs, the hotel provides a buggy for guests at ~0900hrs (could be earlier), which we thought was convenient.

Room Tip: Highest floor (7) has best view because of higher vantage point to see the cruise ship dock.
