Owner description: An innovative, interactive and multi-sensorial museum, The Maritime Experiential Museum is the only museum in Singapore where visitors can experience Asia’s rich maritime history and discover Singapore’s past as a trading port. This trip back in time begins along the ancient Maritime Silk Route, which recreates the sights, sounds and scents of the bustling bazaars and where you can interact with the exhibits. See a fascinating trove of precious artefacts from the Bakau shipwreck and Temasek archaeological site that can be found at the Maritime Archaeology Gallery. View life-sized ship replicas of Asian sailing vessels from the docks at the Historic Ship Harbour, and learn more about Asia’s maritime and cultural heritage through the museum’s education programmes. This unforgettable visit ends on a nail-biting note in the 360º multimedia Typhoon Theatre where visitors ‘board’ a sailing ship and encounter a perilous storm. The most amazing voyage of discovery awaits at The Maritime Experiential Museum.

“Interesting museum for my 4 year old”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 February 2014

I bought sea aquarium ticket from local tour agent with the visit to The Maritime Experiential Museum as a bonus. I paid SGD 25 per person for both attraction. Considering the price I have paid, this is worth it.
My son really enjoy the museum He even stayed at the front of Vietnam Puppet Show display until the show finished. I also enjoying the story and information on each display.

“Good pitstop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 December 2013 via mobile

The free show that comes on every 10 minutes is worth seeing if you have the time. Good pitstop for tired feet too. The cafe serves western food. Seems a tad pricey; try Astons which is just a stone's throw away.

“Not worth it”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 November 2013 via mobile

Had to purchase another ticket for typhoon theatre due to school holidays. Really not worth the time walking around this place due to pushy kids and parents. Very expensive for what you get with the main tank in the middle being the best bit.

Cameras need to be band, particularly when there are signs constantly saying "do not tap the glass" and "no flash photography". Staff need to enforce this

“That's not what it said on the tin”

Oops, firstly I better say I am a mariner so the opportunity to visit a maritime museum in one of the busiest ports in the world looked a great idea on paper
Actually its rubbish and has almost nothing nautical about it, please don't go to this if you're thinking Greenwich or say the new Titanic museum in Southampton
There are a few artefacts from ancient shipwrecks but it's very slim pickings
The centre piece is a life sized replica of a trading dhow which is really just a hammed up plastic cutaway model
This is part of the aquarium exhibition so at least you won't have fought the crowds just for this
I as a mariner maybe biased but truthfully it's very poor fare
