“Fabulous Dinner”
Reviewed 2 September 2011

A colleague invited us for dinner and we were served the most delicious food I had in Singapore. The coffee-flavored ribs, the chili crab, the wasabe flavored shrimp, the scallop with tofu, wow, every dish served were all fantastic. Really, really good food!

Highly recommended!

“The most disappointing restaurant on Sentosa”
Reviewed 24 July 2011

You have to pay to enter the island of Sentosa whether you visit during the day or evening and we considered an evening visit worthwhile since we'd only been in the daytime before.

We thought this restaurant looked good from the outside but how wrong we were! Once we were in, we were given a drinks menu and a food menu. We ordered 2 glasses of the house wine (if you want wine by the glass there is only one kind and the waiter had to go and find out what it was). We also ordered a steamed crab, seafood noodles and garlic spinach.

The wine arrived after a short while, as did a cup each of water which was banged down hard enough on the table to splash over. The garlic spinach arrived next, after about 20 minutes. We tasted it and waited for the other things to come. After all, the garlic spinach was the side dish. We waited... and waited... and waited... We tried to wave over one of the staff but they just ignored us.

Almost an hour after we had arrived the seafood noodles came. In this time the (local) couple at the neighboring table had finished all their food and they'd arrived a while after us.

We asked where the crab was, explaining that by now the plate of spinach was stone cold. The waiter was rude, shrugging and saying "don't you know how long it takes to cook crab?" Surely the chef knows that if the crab takes longer to cook than the side dish, start cooking the crab first.

At these prices we don't expect rudeness or inefficiency. So we left the money for the 2 glasses of house wine on the table and left. One of the waitresses ran after us to complain we hadn't paid the "service charge" (obligatory tip). What a joke.

So this is my "tip" to you. Don't bother with this over-rated, over-hyped restaurant. Unless you like shockingly bad service and not getting your food for over an hour (they didn't even remove a crab from the tank - we were watching!) and being blamed for expecting your side dish to come within an hour of your meal.

“Attractive waterfront restaurant”
Reviewed 17 July 2011

A new and attractive option for diners who wish to enjoy Singapore's seafood dishes. The Menu is more or less similar to what one finds at Jumbo and Palm Beach Restaurants -- 2 of the 4 partners behind this joint venture. Most impressive items: Geoduck Platter served with a hot-pot of the Kitchen's Clear Soup, White Pepper or Chili Lankan Crabs, Coffee-Flavoured Ribs. Service is attentive and courteous. Prices are reasonable, given the good quality of the food, as well as the ambience and superb location of this waterfront restaurant.

“Above average food let down by below average service”
Reviewed 4 July 2011

We spent three nights in Sentosa, and heard about this new restaurant. It was advertised all around the casino/resort area. Decided to organize dinner for my family - 10 of us, including 2 kids. We ordered: chili crab, herbal prawns, spinach tofu, coffee ribs, crab meat vermicelli, fried tofu... about nine dishes in total.

The good: The food - chili crab was fresh and the chili sauce was perfect. Tofu with spinach was tasty. Rib was fresh, the coffee sauce one of the best I've tasted, perfectly matched with succulent ribs.

The bad:
1. We sat at level two, it was at night, but the air conditioning was warm. The staff offered to turn off some light to improve the temperature!
2. Tables were way too close, we ended up being audience for the next table.
3. Service staff were absent minded and inattentive, water refill came at the end of our meal, The first one was disinterested in our orders, the next person was only enthusiastic in trying to get us to order more and more. In the end, we had two less dishes (one ran out of stock, the herbal prawn was forgotten) and we still ended up overeating.
5. Dishes came at almost 15 minute intervals - way too long especially with kids

With the kind of price we paid, I felt the service should be better. There are better serviced seafood restaurants in the vicinity.

“Loved the Chilli crab !”
Reviewed 9 June 2011

We were very lucky to spot this restaurant whilst visiting Sentosa Island. We knew absolutely nothing about this restaurant but once reading the menu we instantly knew this restaurant would suit us.

Having just walked for hours around Sentosa Island we were starving so we decided to share an entree & a main.

Wow >>> our meals were so sumptuous & finger-licking delicious: that it was just too difficult to talk throughout the whole meal !

When visiting Singapore do yourself a favour & take time out to enjoy this restaurant for a fabulous lunch.

Just make sure you order the Dragon fruit lobster salad for entree & the Singapore chilli crab to share for main. (yummy) !
