We stayed 5 nights at the Rasa Sentosa, our agent booked a hill view room but when we arrived we were offered a panoramic sea view room for only S$50.00 extra per night. This is well worth the extra if you are on a honeymoon or anniversary as the bathroom opens up to the bedroom and right out to the balcony there is a million dollar view over the pools, beach and what must have been 100's of ships awaiting docking into Singapore. We were on the 10 th floor. The hotel is well set up for families even though we travelled on our own, meeting up with family later. The pool and gardens were immaculate and as with most Singapore hotels never was a leaf out of place. There is a great pool for the kids with 3 water slides. The buffet breakfast would have to be the most amazing I have seen in a long time. The hotel draws such a varied customer base i am sure everyone was well catered for. There were many restaurants to choose from, all offering different themes. There is a very regular shuttle from outside the hotel for a short ride to a massive multi level shopping centre.Even if you never ventured past here you possibly would not see every shop.We were out from 8.00 am till 7.00 pm every day and never a worry as the shuttle is on time every time. The buses and train on the island are free so go on explore this amazing island paradise.Mind you depending on when you travel is gets very humid and hot early in the morning,so have plenty of water on hand and a hat. There is 7- Eleven under the train line at the depot where you can buy lots of snack foods and bottles of water. There are even small shops down outside the hotel where small food items are sold.It is here that buses will take you to most parts of the Island.Forget the rush of Singapore main land hotels, stay here and enjoy the peace and the relaxed atmosphere without waking to traffic and smog.I have only 1 gripe and that is the fridge in our room isnt a real refrigerator as you would have at home its a pieltier fridge(electronic minded people would know what i mean). So as such it only kept drinks cool not cold,so buying ice cream was a no go or trying to make ice cubes. We had to keep ringing down for ice cubes. All said and done it was my best Singapore stay even though i was born though.

Room Tip: the higher the floor the better the view.ask for the upgades available.

I stayed here for 3 nights to attend business meetings taking place here--hotels in Singapore are in short supply and since the organizers left it a bit late none of the hotels in the central business district was available.

Service is not up to par with the Shangri-la's in central Singapore, but is still good. It seems to take them about ten minutes to check in each guest. If you are checking out in the late evening (when a lot of flights depart from Singapore) bear this in mind as they only had one person on duty to do check ins and check outs. Also, when I called to request housekeeping to pick up my laundry, an hour laer the laundry was still outside my door and I had to call a second time.

The setting on Sentosa Island is peaceful with a beach setting surrounded by a jungle with monkeys. They have a good gym open 24 hours and an excellent (free) personal trainer who will ask if you need help and is well worth asking him to give you a personalized work out to vary your routine. The spa service is also excellent.

The food is good but not exceptional--there is something for everyone. As other reviewers have noted there can be long lines at breakfast time which is inconvenient for business travellers. Also, wearing a suit when everyone else is in shorts and bathrobes is a bit strange.

Rooms are small but very clean. There is free high speed WIFI and two computers for free use in the library off lobby where you can also send printing to the front desk.

Limo service to and from the airport is very efficient.

I would prefer to stay in the CBD for business next time in Sinagpore and at the main Shangri-la, although my stay here was pleasant.

I stayed 10 days on the 11th floor, excellent view of South China Sea and ships. Beach is nice to walk on, many monkees Lizards and other interesting animals abound. Very close to many activities. Breakfast bar is the best of any hotel I have seen, great fresh selection from many continents. Has a tropical vacation feel, beautiful grounds, and free travel to town is very handy. All in all I heartily recommend.

Room Tip: Higher is better for view and breeze.

Nice clean rooms. The resort has good restaurant choices and just walk straight onto the beach. Lots of activities close by. For me its great value compared to other nearby resorts, and has a much better atmosphere. Its not world shattering service or rooms, but its a fun place to stay, simple and worry free.

Its a really a family resort instead of for couples..

Hereby the slightly review :
- Room is small, but very clean and tidy
- Free transfer from Hotel to Vivo City (nice)
- Nice pool area
- Lack of information for special price Voyage De La Vie (none of the concierge know there is special price 20% discount for voyage de la vie show if you are staying at Shangri-la's Rasa Sentosa Resort)
- excellent breakfast

Room Tip: higher floor with better view....

My husband, child and myself were on a week-long tour of Singapore on our annual summer vacation and we stayed at the Shangri-la Rasa Sentosa resort for two days. The experience has been singularly fantastic and we were sorry to leave. To start with, the check-in formalities were a breeze - no crowd when we checked in at around 2 pm (though they state that the check-in is at 3 pm, if you go earlier and they have the room, there is no issue). Our graden view room also had a view of the sea on the side, which was a pleasant surprise. The room came with a mini fridge well stocked with soft and hard drinks as well as ready to eat noodles, chips and the basic tea/coffee maker facilities. The room was very comfortable, luxurious and without a hair out of place as was the bathroom and other accessories provided. They also have free high speed internet - for those of you who are still not substantially enticed by the beauty of the place to put down you gadgets for even a minute!! :-) Room service was very prompt and even though they gave us a time limit of 20 mins, our dinner came to us well ahead of the stipulated time. The red line and blue line bus station as well as siloso beach tram stations are bang outside the resort as is a seven eleven. The underwater world and siloso fort are also next door, so getting around to see the main attractions of sentosa was also very comfortable. The food was delicious and their buffet breakfast spread is extensive and you are spoilt for choice. They also had idli, upma and dosa on their buffet as well as rice and Conjee (kanji). So it really doesn't get better than this for a hard core south indian with a very fussy eating child. The two Indian Chefs - Biju and Aravind deserve special mention as they made a special preparation of rice and rasam for my daughter on request. Though there are a few Indian items on the menu, they are ever willing to make something up for you on request - for which we remain very grateful. They have a twice a day housekeeping service. The pools are good, big and well maintained. There is a private beach on the property that offers lovely views of the sea scape. On the day of our check out, we ran a bit behind schedule having spent the day at the Universal studios and we were well past our check out time, but the reception was quite understanding about it and allowed us to check out at 3 pm (normal check out time is 12 noon) at no additional charge. This may have been because it was a week day - I am not sure if these exceptions will work on peak dates. These small things go a long way in making for a memorable holiday and we were a delighted lot as we left Sentosa. The only minus if you want to call it that, is that it is a pricey place and the rentals and food are both very expensive - but if that is not an issue, then go for it by all means! We would personally love to stay here again.

Room Tip: The thing about Sentosa is that you spend more time out of than in the resort, unless you are on a c...
