The positives:

1) Reasonably priced
2) Very accessible to the Sentosa Express train station. It is just beside the hotel.
3) Walking to distance to all attractions in Sentosa e.g. Universal Studios, Adventure Cove Waterpark, and dozens of restaurants right across the hotel.

The negatives:
None I can think of.

Room Tip: Choose a room on a higher floor to get a good view of the sea

Stayed in the executive suite and it was a very lovely stay. Bed, pillows, soft bathrobes are just so comfortable. It's a 1 bedroom with living room type. Living room and bedroom windows are from floor to ceiling glass-type with a relaxing view of trees and tall bamboos. The toilet near the living room has a a floor to ceiling window overlooking Sentosa's Merlion. The staff are, of course courteous and helpful. The breakfast buffet spread is stunning and they had a variety of choices which includes cheeses and different types of hams, local popular breakfasts, danish pastries and breads to name a few.

Decorations were beautiful esp the area near the restaurants and the restaurants themselves are just so pleasant to look at. The gym is uber clean (gym balls looked shiny even!). The pool is small but it is just perfect for the siz e of the hotel.

Location is very good if you want it to be near Universal Studios (just a 10 minute walk). Highly recommended and will definitely go back again.

I was reading some of the other reviewers with the service problem and I had zero problems there. the staff was very pleasurable and always smiling and saying hello. got us checked in early too and everything was perfect. We had a suite in the heritage wing and looked right at the merlion. the hotel is right across from the monorail so easy access to the rest of the island. there was one problem, but they fixed it well and I was pleased with the result. overall.. a great stay.

Room Tip: definitely a suite in the heritage wing.

This hotel was in a good position to travel around the island and if you are a whisky fan then this is one you will need to try.
Mainly good points but some items they don't mention like the swimming pool has buildings all round it therefore does not always have the sun on it.

If you’re looking for a boutique experience in Sentosa with easy access to attractions and transportation to the mainland, with wonderful amenities, this is a good place to stay. I just hope that the hotel management reads this to correct the unfortunate problems with housekeeping, which should be easy to correct. After all, the service outside of absent-minded housekeeping was pleasant and welcoming.

Location

The hotel is across a little road from the Imbiah Station of the Sentosa Express monorail, which makes it convenient for seeing the sights of the island. The station area also has a convenience store, and gelato pop store, a souvenir shop, a fast food outlet, and a ticket station for Sentosa attractions, plus easy walk to the Merlion and Imbiah Lookout attractions. A short 5-10 minute walk downhill (with escalators) or a hop to the next station on the Sentosa Express gets one to Resorts World, Universal Studios, and the SEA Aquarium, while the other direction leads to the beach attractions.

The easy public transport access means that this could even be a relaxing base for those who want to spend time on the mainland—monorail service is frequent, and the Harbourfront subway and bus stations are easy connections to the rest of the city. Hotel guests get a free Sentosa pass for free access to the Sentosa Express monorail, which otherwise costs SGD 4 per entry to Sentosa Island.

However, the convenient central location means that the views are dull: you can view the giant mountain Merlion from the Heritage Suites (old wing) if you look to the far left and ignore the monorail station that the trees cannot completely hide, while if you stay at the contemporary wing, you get a view of the bus parking lot with the sea in the distance. Far better views can be had along the corridors, which overlook the gorgeous pool, or at the well-designed and fragrant public areas.

Sleep Quality

The rooms have good beds, a bit higher than typical, and offer large square Euro-type down pillows or firmer rectangular foam pillows. It’s a great bed to snuggle in after a long day doing business or sightseeing or shopping til one drops.

Rooms

The rooms are great for the modern traveler with various gadgets—the electrical sockets accept most any shape of plugs (but US folks might be wary of the standard 220-240V this side of the world). You can connect computers or various devices to the large flat screen TV, and there even is a USB slot for charging USB devices separately.

Also, we love the Nespresso machine and the TWG teas (there is a kettle in the room). It’s wonderful to start up or wind down the day with a cup (selection includes a decaf Nespresso and a chamomile tea).

The bathroom opens to the bed area rather than the foyer near the door, and we also like that the toilet and the shower are separate areas. The tub seems more stylish than functional though, and getting in and out without slipping could be a problem, with no grab handles anywhere (lovely sculptural décor on the wall though). The sliding bathroom door though is still rather transparent, so it could be a problem to share rooms with a colleague while on a business trip unless one emerges from the shower stall reasonably covered.

The weighing scale, iron and board, and emergency flashlight were nice touches also, as was the spare roll of toilet tissue nicely packed in a bag in the drawer beneath the sink, next to the hairdryer.

There’s only one chair though for the king bed room—it’s nice for working at the desk, or even rolling over to the bathroom dresser to work on one’s hair with the dryer there, but inadequate for lounging. So to lounge around one must really lie in bed.

Another bit that surprised me, given the overall high marks for thoughtful design of the room: The room foyer lights did not come on when we opened the door, so we had to fumble in the dark to get the room key in the power slot for the lights to come on.

Service

This is the strange part—housekeeping seems to be a world away from the rest.

The reception staffers were welcoming and helpful. Although they were not able to get us a room early, the nice young lady at the desk promised to get us a room earlier than 2 pm, and made some suggestions for lunch and sightseeing. By the time we got back, the room was ready even though it was long before the official 2 pm check-in time. We were escorted with our luggage to the room, and the various features and amenities were pointed out by another staffer, this time a nice young man.

Service at the restaurants and the bar was consistently welcoming and pleasant without being intrusive, and the food and the drinks we tried were all good (we especially loved the dumplings and the sweet pineapple and watermelon at breakfast). Our wake up calls were properly programmed, and on our last day, the staff even called again personally to make sure that we would not miss our morning flight, in case the automated wake-up call did not come through (it did).

So given this background, it was decidedly odd that housekeeping was hit-or-miss. It was not about cleanliness, because the room was clean and well-kept. But for an upscale Swiss chain’s hotel in Singapore, we really expected housekeeping to be precise. It became a guessing game to discover what would be missing each day. On arrival, we had no bath mat, but we thought that perhaps it was not standard, until it appeared the next day. One day, one of the hand towels disappeared without being replaced, but two small, square face towels appeared for the first time. Another day, we were supplied with two shower gel bottles but no shampoo—but then again, with the same bottle style and same color liquid, it’s easy to mistake one for the other without reading the fine print, or lathering up. Yet another day, there was neither bar soap nor any hand towel at all. One of those days too, the housekeeping staff had the foresight to provide an extra toilet paper roll, because the roll on the rack was running low. Good foresight, but not pretty because the spare roll was just plunked down on the toilet tank, with the end still partly stuck down to the body of the roll and partly coming loose in all directions, as if haphazardly pulled out from the supply carton.

One day, we heaved a sigh of relief that everything seemed to be in order—until the next morning, when we were taking our Nespresso fix, and found out that the cream in the ref had not been replenished. Finally, it also seemed that on an extended stay of almost a week, the bed linens were not changed. It might be good for this hotel to adopt the system of having a card that guests can use to place on the bed if they wish to have the bed linen changed. It would also be good to also adopt the system of towels-on-the-bath for replacement, towels-on-the-rack for reuse.

Overall rating

How does one average out excellent service in most areas and absent-minded housekeeping on the other hand? It seems unfair to the efforts of the wonderful men and women of the staff, and to the beautiful design elements, to give this hotel a low rating. On the other hand, the most basic thing we need from a hotel is a place to sleep and the necessary facilities and supplies to wash up, and missing towels can be a real deal breaker.

Room Tip: Higher floors get less noise from the pool, and the contemporary wing may be quieter since it faces...

Stayed in a standard room recently in August, for 3 nights. Spacious room, clean with a comfortable bed. Loved the blackout blinds! View over the coach car park and air conditioning equipment was not so great but we were hardly ever in during the day. Staff throughout the hotel were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. Convenient location near attractions and Imbiah Station. The beach was a five minute walk away and that was where we spent most of our days. The hotel is conveniently located and we could walk through Resorts World to the 'Sentosa Boardwalk' or take the mono rail which took us over to Vivo City for dinner and shopping in the evenings. Safe to walk back late at night too. Have been to Singapore and Sentosa many times before but first time at this hotel. Would definitely recommend it. It's tastefully decorated and the pool though small, is inviting. Would recommend steps in the pool for older guests, though,

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms are better.
