The food is good, nothing to write home about but the ingridientbare fresh and well cooked and the whole robatayaki culinary experience is quite original. On the othe hand you are not given a menu hence you have no idea of prices but when the bill arrives is a total shock! We have been to most of the high end restaurants in Singapore but nothing beats this placevin tems of being overpriced: you pay more than 3 times than in excellent japanese restaurant in similar 5 stars hotel in the Orchard area. We would never go back or advise anyone to go irrespective of budgets.

Not quite sure what I was expecting really. A few Japanese colleagues went here most nights during our conference, saying it was a completely authentic experience. Food was certainly interesting, prepared right in front of you, from the selection of fresh ingredients displayed in front of you. It's a small restaurant actually, quite long, but narrow. But wow, was the place noisy! Staff chanting or singing or shouting most of the time, either to thank guests, or mark a particular order... In fact, almost any excuse was sufficient. Very friendly staff, and a lot of them too, we certainly didn't have to wait much for anything. Seating is not at tables, but around the counters displaying the fresh produce, next to the cooking areas. So you do get up close and personal with the whole process. And it was expensive, really really expensive - and yes, this is at the top end of Orchard Road, but even though, it made the adjacent 5 star hotel dining rooms feel in-expensive. I doubt I'd go back, but over all I enjoyed the experience, albeit not really being my style of "party eating".

The service is attentive and more so, if you converse with them. The whole staff break into chants midway to thank the customers and patrons and the energy is electrifying.

Food quality is good although many are normal ordinary ingredients such as ginko nuts, peas, mushrooms, etc. The thing to go for are jumbo prawns and excellent quality beef.

It is not cheap here ($600 for 2 with beers and saké) but what an experience!

Absolutely love this place! Not the cheapest place but definitely worth it. Not only is the food good, I really love how the place is set up and it just adds to the authenticity of the whole dining experience.
