Stayed here for 6 nights and was pleasantly surprised. Great location: 5 min walk to mrt and to a busy retail area if you like shopping. The rooms were a bit pricey ($170) per night but they were spacious and clean. No opening window or exhaust fan in the bathroom but free wifi was a bonus. Breakfast was included and gave good variety as well as some local dishes.

The welcoming at reception was nothing like the weather....warm. The room is average and the aircon has it's moods to change the actual temperature at any given moment. The food in the Crystal Cafe is below average and doesn't offer much variety.

The only good think I can really say about the hotel is that it is central to the downtown area on Orchard street. Cost for the stay vs service received doesn't measure up.

I won't book here again.

At a walking distance from Sommerset MRT, this is a very strategically located hotel. It's actually a serviced apartment, but also works as a hotel for daily stays.
We got a deluxe room with one queen bed and one single (which was big enough for both our kids, 4 and 8, to sleep on). The room is pretty well sized - not sure how others call it small. We were very comfortable for a family of 4 and I've seen small rooms in Europe - this is not it.
The bathroom was big as well, with a good size bathtub. Beds were comfortable, and most light and AC controls were centrally located next to the bed - something I've seen from over 10 years since I've been frequenting this hotel.
The room pricing is good, and a good deal for that area. There are local restaurants just in the street below if you want to try local delights, and the 313 Somerset is at a walking distance if you want a more international or upmarket variety. The hotel's own restaurant serves good spread of breakfast, and we did not have any problems in enjoying the fare.
The Fairprice supermarket is right below the hotel, with all daily amenities, and as I said, this is at a walking distance from Orchard and MRT.
The staff (specially the reservation member Sabrina) was very helpful in booking the room and providing details. The housekeeping, though, never responds and you'll have to call front desk if you need additional towels - this is the only reason for the 1 star reduction.
Recommended for families.

Room Tip: Chose a Deluxe room with 2 beds - you get more spacious rooms that way.

This hotel has the advantage of being within 400 m of Sommerset Station and is much frequented by Eastern families. The breakfast is limited and on days of greater capacity, after 9 h some items are not replenished.

This hotel has a very good location. Rooms are spacious, however the air-conditioning can get super cold so make sure you get it adjusted after calling the front desk. Currently construction activity is going on one side of the hotel and although the disturbance could not be that bad on the 5th floor where we stayed, you may find the sound intruding if you plan to stick around in the room for long and stay on the lower floors. The hotel is situated on killiney road, very close to orchard road and the street has good dining options. A must visit is suanthai an award winning Thai restaurant on the same street, There is a fair price shop and a watson's on the front side of the hotel which is excellent for anybody who wants to pick up a few essentials. The staff are co-operative and helpful. Be sure to carry an adapter if you use 220v chargers, or you can ask the reception desk for one. The breakfast at Crystal Cafe is ordinary but it can start you off on your day. Its a good place if you want to be on a budget and yet at a great location.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors and facing killiney road rather than the lobby side.

We stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of March. We arrived at 2:50 to be told by the older Japanese lady at reception (who was rude for the whole stay) that we could not check in for half an hour, go and have your welcome drink. I have never experienced this in Asia before, they usually give you another available room.

Room was comfortable, bed very hard - did not sleep much
Breakfast not up to scratch - was always cold.

Good location - but would not stay here again.

Not a hotel, but serviced apartments, actually. No help from the concierge who stands mutely uninvolved looking straight ahead while we wheeled Mother in on her wheelchair. No help with the luggage either. No early check-in, in spite of request at booking. No waiting in the lobby. Expect to be directed to Mustafa Centre by the ghoul at reception as it is open 24 hrs. Come back at 2:00 pm to check-in if you have landed up in an early morning flight. Any clarifications are to be done by Agoda.com! -this from Ghoulish Receptionist. After being made to feel as unwelcome as possible, the clean and comfortable rooms came as a pleasant surprise! And,the only accomodation we have stayed in where the frontage is given over to convienence stores! Main entrance is through a side street!
