The hotel is in a good location, in the heart of the tourist restaurant area. If you need to get away to other shopping areas, just ask the staff, they are very helpful, will suggest good shopping and bargain areas to go too.
Breakfast is pretty boring for a place that's not cheap, rooms like all Singapore Hotels are on the small size, however most of the time I walked to places I wanted to go too.
Do ask for suggestions, the staff are great and very helpful, get away from the expensive restaurants, and try some of the more traditional eating areas that are less than $10 in a taxi like Chong Baru Markets.
The night clubs nearby are great fun.
