We chose to be in the Clarke quay area, because it is so close to everything, including the metro station, taking the risk of ending up in a typical tourist hotel: that does not count for the Park Hotel. We were treated as honorable guests in every sense. Staying at the top floor, we enjoyed our afternoon yea, fantastic breakfasts and extraordinary service of people like Eveline, who did what it takes to feel a special guest of the hotel. I can recommend to take the upgrade.

The rooms are small, true, but that was not too much of an issue for us. Go and find the cheese and wine bar, and you will have everything needed for a perfect stay in Singapore.

This hotel is at best a 10 minute walk from the action in Clarke Quay but this does not detract from the excellent service given by its staff. On the whole the hotel us centrally located for exploring Singapore! My wife and I would have no reservations about revisiting The Park.

I stayed at this hotel twice for my business trips in Singapore. The rooms are a bit small but it is good value for money. I received a free upgrade which includes usage of a smartphone with complimentary local/international phone calls and complimentary 3G around the city. The room service has a wide range of food choices and quick service.

Our first impression was an extremely busy, tired looking reception area with limited comfortable seating for weary travellers arriving and having to wait to check in. We were encouraged when we were told that we had a complimentary "upgrade". We subsequently wondered what our non-upgrade" room would have been like. The room was small with a tiny wardrobe with only provision for one suitcase. The bed was one of the smallest "doubles" we have had recently, with a very hard pillow. As we arrived late, there was no provision for refreshment, but there is a recommended (by us) Italian restaurant at the back of the hotel on the riverside (not mentioned at reception - we followed our nose to the cooking!).
The staff at the hotel were very polite and efficient and are a compliment to the hotel. Wifi is "extra" and quite expensive in this day and age where many offer it for free. However, although not advertised, the reception can offer a free code for one hour of wifi use in the reception area. The minibar is a blessing, but expensive, in the hot temperatures although the room aircon is efficient and reasonably silent. Not a bad hotel for a stopover, but limited in service for a longer stay.

Stayed here 3 nights on trip from UK to Oz with 2 teenage boys. The hotel is well situated and only 30 mins from the airport. Everything was very clean, comfy beds, helpful friendly staff and breakfast had a good range of foods. The only downside is get down early as we did ( or maybe very late would be okay too) as the queues build up for seating after 7:30am and when tour groups arrive as they did on the second of our 2 days, there is not enough seating. Overall breakfast was managed well by the serving staff, food was replenished well etc , although again on the second day we waited 30 mins for juice glasses to be replenished. The othe two days though, everything ran very smoothly.

Hotel pool was a great size for lane swimming without annoying other guests who want to just go for a dip. We sat by the pool and drank our Singapore slings, tho were slightly put off by the bar man blowing his nose repeatedly after we had received drinks... Poor guy obviously had a cold, but we were left wondering if he washed his hands before preparing our drinks.

For evening meals, the hotel has a seafood restaurant but otherwise there are plenty of restaurants in nearby Clarke Quay/ Robertson Quay, though we particularly recommend the Rosso Vino Italian restaurant to the left of the hotel a couple of minutes away. (Don't use the restaurant Bella Italia opposite unless you like burned flavourless dishes)
