“Ideal for a getaway from the bustling city life”
Reviewed 29 October 2013

Stayed here for more than 3 times. Each stay was pretty wonderful. Perfect place for families and couples to stay here to get away from the stressful city life.

Stayed at a Family room in my most recent stay. The room is equipped with 1 Queen sized bed and 2 Super single beds. In addition to that, a sofa bed can be used as well if you have more people. The rooms are pretty huge as well. The room also has a balcony where you can sit and sip some coffee while enjoying the green scenery of the golf course. However, be prepared that some pesky mosquitoes will join in the fun as well. Of course, spiders, lizards and sometimes frogs or geckos will join in... So I definitely would not recommend sitting out there at night especially. The room is also not equipped with a bathtub but a standing shower.

Room Tip: Family rooms are all on the 1st floor of the property.

Been playing here for decades, the course maintenace is now as good as ever, it's in great shape and plays as tough as any in Singapore, even though it's not glamorous or spectacular looking. However, the organization leaves a lot to be desired, as we were delayed by 15 min by rain, but ended up losing an 18 hole round to playing just 9 since they had a tournament later that afternoon. A 15 min delay to lose 9 holes? Ridiculous!

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon. The parking lot was very busy, probably due to weddings and other events, as well as the supermarket, but once inside the hotel it wasn't so crowded.

The hotel doesn't look like much when you arrive, but the design is actually quite nice and resort-like. Rooms are spacious, with a balcony and view over the golf course and reservoir.

We spent most of our time at the pool area. The kids' pool is great, with different areas of different depths, and a large floating inflatable structure for kids to play on. The Olympic-size pool for adults was great for swimming and surprisingly not too busy. There is a third smaller pool in front of Gayatri restaurant, which was hardly used.

We tried two restaurants during our stay. Gayatri's food was nice, but a bit expensive. The Vanda restaurant was disappointing (tough meat, canned vegetables, confused service). Note that some restaurants may be closed or noisy due to events.

From Airport or City Center it will take you 25 minutes to get there, with MRT and hotel shuttelbus approx. 40 minutes.
Beeing there you´ll find a nice but not luxurious countrycllub athmosphere.
The have three pools, /standard/ family/sports. There is a midclass restaurant and also a subways . A lot of sport facilities (gym,squash,tennis,golf....) can be used free of charge or for a reasonable fee.
The rooms are big (appr 40sqm) and have all balcony with golf-view. Our room was clean but needed a painting and a new carpetfloor. As we´ve seen the hoteljust started to renovate the rooms. All together a good friendly and relxing atmosphere.

Recently booked a family deluxe room at Orchid Country Club for some friends to have a gathering. The booking was relatively easy with friendly staff checking us in and directing us to the room smoothly. Upon entering the room, all my friends screamed with joy as the room was so spacious with three large beds. Pulling open the curtains and you get a wonderful view of the magnificent golf course . We could sit outside the veranda and enjoy the sunset in the evening. Amenities were sufficient for our stay and where else you can find a supermarket nearby and we coud buy a few snacks to munch. A variety of choice of food outlets available. A chinese restaurant, a cosy cafe and a fast food by the swimming pool. There is also a bowling alley and a beautiful bar, called the Par Lounge whereby you get to viee live EPL matches. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and hope to return for more. This is the only hotel you can find in the rustic north of Singapore.

Room Tip: All the rooms are facing the golf course. Ask for the centre units, great view .

I booked a one-nighter for a getaway movie-marathon. My early check in was denied and was told to return at 2pm which was acceptable due to slow turn over of rooms. The room is spacious and very clean. Basic amenities were provided. The room came with a balcony facing the golf course which was a delight as with the evening rain, it made one feel most peaceful to sit and relax. However, unlike what was promised online to have a DVD Player in the room, the Receptionist told me its unavailable. There was a mistake in the information represented. I wrote an email to the Management Team upon check out. The manager copied me in the email to have the website update the information, very mechanical. You might wish to try out the chinese restaurant there for afternoon dim sum. The staff there are much nicer.

Hard to understand how anyone can be positive about this place. Go somewhere else! Overpriced - looks nice from the outside but once inside you will experience: a) breakfast has very little variety most of which is poor quality Asian - you can eat better at a Hawker centre b) the food in the Par Lounge is equally bad and if you wish to eat outside away from the fierce air conditioning and loud music you have the choice of two old plastic tables with plastic chairs c) air conditioning in our room was broken and they were unable to fix it so the room was too cold d) free wi-fi is limited to only some public areas and very expensive to purchase it in the room e) limited toiletries and small well worn towels in the bathroom

The only positive is the staff are friendly and try to help!!!
