“Do not stay here”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2012

Very small rooms. With a double bed there is no space left to move around. Poor lighting of the rooms. Bathrooms were again too small, fortunately we all were on the thinner side. Our bath room was stinking, a complaint on this regard did not yield much results. However the breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. Location is not convenient at all. Too far from everything except may be the much talked about mustaffa shopping center. It is not very far from the electronic mall simlim center.

Room Tip: Do not stay here .

We stayed at this hotel for a quick overnight before flying out of the Changi Singapore airport. We'd been doing some travelling in Malaysia and Singapore, so we arrived at the hotel in the late evening (around 7:30pm) and had to check out very early (around 5:00am).

The rooms are very tiny, but they've been efficiently planned, and everything has its place. They boast all the amenities one could wish for in a hotel room -- everything's just on a tighter scale. The bed linens and towels were clean and smelled fresh, and the sink and shower were spotlessly clean. The free wi-fi internet in the room was quick. The windows weren't very soundproof, but once the construction outside stopped for the evening, all we could hear was birds singing, which was lovely.

With little time to explore the neighbourhood, we were glad that the Mustafa Shopping Centre was only a 15-minute walk from the hotel; after check-in, we went there to eat and buy some last-minute souvenirs.

In general, the hotel is great for people on a budget: clean, safe, and close to the airport. I would stay here again.

I booked a single room for a weekend stay at Aqueen Hotel Lavender. The hotel is located about 10 mins walk from the metro station. There are many eateries surrounding the hotel offering inexpensive local food.

Check-in at 1pm took a bit of time as the staff was quite new. I didn't find them to be particularly welcoming even though I was greeted by a spacious and bright lobby.

My room at 601 was next to the 2 lift elevators. Bad choice. The sound from the lift was particularly obvious at night whenever someone used the lifts. I was practically kept awake at night.

Other than the noise problem, the room was compact, clean and comfortable. It had a modern design and was well furnished with toiletries, cable TV, in-room safe for a comfortable stay. If not for its location next to the lift, I would probably give it a thumbs-up.

Breakfast was included and it was a simple buffet spread. The food tasted ok for the price I paid.

Overall, Aqueen Hotel met my basic needs even though I wouldn't recommend a room next to the lifts unless you intend to stay awake for the whole night like me.

Room Tip: Stay away from the rooms next to the elevator or next to the main road.

We chose this hotel mainly because of the great reviews here, since it seemed like the best budget option for Singapore, which included breakfast. the hotel is close to the MRT, VERY clean, very nice rooms, not too big, but very convenient with very comfy beds. Buffet breakfast was ok for a 3 star hotel, with decent selection of food. more asian than european choices, however, it is excellent if you compare it to average 3 star place breakfast in Thailand.

I first freaked out when we walked to the hotel from the MRT station for the first time, because the area seemed to be outskirts and unfriendly, however, it is totally fine. and it is only 2 MRT stops away from the City Hall, which is Singapore downtown.

All in all, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

After reviewing many hotels in Singapore we decided to stay at the Aqueen Hotel Lavender. It is one of the more economical hotels for the quality. Very clean, decent size room and bath with good window light. The staff in the hotel and cafe are very friendly. We went to this hotel after being on a cruise. When we arrived our room was not ready, so they stored our luggage in a locked room. We ate lunch and dinner in the attached cafe and the food is very good.
Since we had a 5:15 am flight the next morning, the lady who waited on us at dinner volunteered to fix us a breakfast to take with when we left the hotel at 2:30 am. The breakfast of tuna sandwich, banana, and hard boild egg for each of us was waiting when we checked out.
I would recommend this hotel.

Nice room, a bit small, but well designed and well-lit. Very clean also with decent breakfast. Taxi is also easy to get while MRT is 10 mins walk. the only minus is the location, next to singapore casket.
