Situated in the middle of walking traffic this place is open and very nicely put. The chairs are very comfy and the service is wonderful and attentive. I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce. It was great and a long time waited for me to get some decent spaghetti in Singapore. My hubby ordered a crepe with mushrooms and spinach. It was good to his liking. We also ordered a salad to share they were out if mixed greens and only had romaine which was not a problem for me. However they o my had balsamic or orange citrus dressing and they were both not to my liking. They had fresh juices and fantastic iced lemon tea. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely come here again.

I love coming here, the coffee is good and so is the food, especially the eggs benedict. Though I was disappointed after cycling to Gardens on the Bay they have stopped doing food and we could only have a cake, what's that all about? Last time I was there the place was full, and as expected empty this time.

Great place to have afternoon tea with friends after window shopping :P

The macaroons are yummy.
Average coffee & tea but accompanied with macaroons & its dessert are beautiful.

It's not easy to find a place that comfortable for a leisurely Saturday breakfast which you need to have early in the morning because you have a hospital appointment at Mt E next door.

The Royal Breakfast was as good as they come, but the French Toast (with raisins) with maple syrup and chantilly cream was truly yummy. Coffee - very important for breakfast time - was good.

This year, the revamped Canele has infused the traditional sweets with some new flavours that are bound to light up anyone's Christmas.

For details and pictures : http://dairycream.blogspot.sg/2012/12/canele-christmas-delights.html

Amedei Chuao Cassis(centre with a chocolate star)/ Chestnut Obession (the one with glittering shine)/ Cranberry Indulgence (pink)/ Elderflower Blossom (green)/Gingerbread( orange)/ Nougat Temptation(yellow)

Each Macaron is larger than the christmas macarons by Antoinette and the ganache filling is really thick and sweet.
My favourite is this Gingerbread version because it has simply the richest festive taste of spice in its fillings.

The flavors in others were overwhelmed by the white chocolate ganache and thus were not distinct enough.

Texture wise, this nougatine filled center gave the additional crunch and a pleasant turn from jam or compote filled centers.

This "Dawn" mascarpone rum mousse with the expectedly sweet chestnut cream, bitter orange marmalade and vanilla sponge. The crunchy meringue is fortunately just a thin wall layered in the middle so this is very suited for those who are usually chased away by the sugar-high mont Blanc.

The " Dusk" is an ultimate chocolate decadence of made with good quality Amedei chocolate. Love that silky chocolate glaze which is a sweet contrast to the more intense bitter chocolate mousse though I did not quite agree that the chocolate sponge really fluffy. But crispy praline will always work for me and has come to be one of the deciding component when I choose a cake. Now the problem comes when this dark logcake seems to suffer under the heat more easily than the rest. (the base of my takeaway box was soaked in chocolate juice)
