For me the most important part of travelling is the hotel, and I have to say one of the best hotels I ever been to. Maybe not much suitable for families but if you are couple, solo or friends give this hotel a try.
The staff was very friendly, they even made me breakfast for when I'm in the flight and helped me in booking the taxi and places to go in singapore
The rooms are so unique and nice, you can have normal lightening and those beautiful lights.
The design of the reception and even the elevator was great
Totally in love with this hotel

Hi Fatemeh A,

Greetings from Wanderlust!

Thank you for staying with us during your recent trip to Singapore. We are heartened to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us as well.

Indeed the Origami Mono rooms are great fun to stay in with the interactive pads by the bedside allowing one to change the room's lightings as one's mood dictates.

We look forward to welcoming you back at the Wanderlust and it is our pleasure to be of assistance during your stay with us!

Warm regards,
Yan Goh

Booked this hotel hoping for a more personal boutique experience. Right from the booking the service was poor. We contacted the hotel a whole week before our arrival to enquire whether it was possible to arrange for an early check in & whether there would be any charges associated with this. Received an email saying that they could not tell us??? Arriving in Singapore at 6:30am we were both tired from our flight so we decided to proceed to the hotel & just see whether we could check in or leave our bags with the concierge. On arrival we were told that we could check in for an additional rate of approx $140AUD- I don't know why they didn't advise us of this when I enquired via email. Anyway, we opted to pay the extra. Over our 2 day stay front desk staff were difficult about everything from calling taxis, to enquiries about whether we could have an early breakfast at 6:30am, about the broken Nespresso coffee machine in our room.... Just everything! It was quite bizarre how put out they were by actually having to assist their guests. The hotel itself has a cool design concept- but the "whimsical loft" rooms would be inaccessible to many due to the extremely narrow & steep slat staircases (basically a ladder) up to the loft level the bed is on. By contrast the house keeping staff who cleaned our room were friendly & lovely. Next time I'm in Singapore I will definitely opt for more mainstream accommodation where the standards of service are more dependable.

Hi SydneysiderCC,

Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent stay with us.

We regret to hear that you did not enjoy your stay at the Wanderlust, and kindly allow us to extend our sincere apologies. We try our utmost best to provide a personable service to our guests from the point of reservation up till check-out and we appreciate you taking the time to share honest feedback and will strive to further improve our service standards.

With regards to the few issues highlighted in your review, I believe that there might have been some miscommunication. Pertaining to the request for early check-in, the charge applicable would usually depend on the estimated time of check-in, and should the room be pre-occupied the night before it would then be subjected to availability. For early check-ins in the mornings, a full-day charge would apply.

Having looked into the matter regarding early breakfast, it is to my understanding that your request for early breakfast was made at 10pm.As the restaurant only opens for breakfast from 7.30am onwards, we were unable to accommodate your request for early breakfast at 6.30am. In such instances, we usually assist in arranging a simple pre-packed breakfast for requests made by 9pm the day before. However at the time of your request, the restaurant's kitchen has already closed for orders and hence we were not able to extend the option to you and instead suggested the option of having breakfast at the Changi Airport where there are numerous food outlets.

As for the Nespresso machine, the power plugs are not switched on upon check-in and for first time use of the machine, the power point has to be switched on. Upon switching it on, the machine's lights would blink for a period as it begins to warm up. The machine is ready for use once the light stops blinking. As for the water contained in the water compartment, despite being at room temperature the water will be heated up as it is processed through the machine and the machine will then dispense hot coffee.

We would like to apologise if the explanation regarding early breakfast and the Nespresso machine was poorly communicated and led to any misunderstandings. Nevertheless, we will continually work on our service provided and hope that you would be able to provide us with another opportunity to be able to better improve your impression of the Wanderlust Hotel.

Warm regards,
Yan Goh

The hotel foyer is decorated nicely and the restaurant offers a fresh, well-prepared breakfast. Rooms were cleaned well and the staff were always friendly and smiling.

The neighbourhood can be a bit daunting at first but has plenty of good eating opportunities.

As most have stated, rooms are quite small - I knew this going in and decided to pay extra for a 'Mono' room, but was a bit dissapointed when I ended up with what looked like (from the fire escape floor plan, and my peeks into other rooms) a much smaller Mono room than most of the others. I can't remember the room number but it faced the street/front of the hotel.

I asked if there were any other rooms available for any of my future nights, but was told all other bookings for Mono rooms in the following days included requests for specific rooms that needed to be met. Bummer.

Overall; nice, clean hotel, friendly staff and interesting neighbourhood. Let down immensely by trying to fit too many rooms in this small building.

Room Tip: Ask for pictures or floor plans of specific rooms if planning to pay a bit more for space on the 'Mono' level. Not all the Mono rooms are worth the upgrade.

Hi Jobias,

Many thanks for staying at the Wanderlust during your recent trip to Singapore!

We are delighted to hear that you liked the hotel's interior design as well as breakfast at Cocotte. Kindly allow us to extend our apologies for not being able to accommodate you in a bigger Mono room as we only have 9 Mono rooms in the hotel. We do try our best to accommodate our guest's requests to ensure that their stay with us is nothing less of pleasant and comfortable.

Should you be visiting Singapore in the near future, perhaps you would like to consider our sister hotel - New Majestic Hotel where the rooms are bigger than the ones at the Wanderlust Hotel and has more facilities including a swimming pool and a gym. The New Majestic Hotel is also very design centric with each room being designed by a different designer and is located in the culturally rich neighbourhood of Chinatown.

We hope to be able to welcome you back to the Unlisted Collection group of hotels and wishing you safe travels till we next meet!

Warm regards,
Yan Goh

Situated in a strange and unique location, next to a popular hawker center and a beer garden in Little India, Wanderlust has many surprises up its sleeves. After visiting a "pantone" room on the second floor and a phunky "eccentricity" room on the third floor, I decided to upgrade to a penthouse-like "creature comfort" room on the top floor: a duplex featuring a living room with a sculptural mural made of gigantic typefaces on the ground floor and a steep stair leading to a bed area on the mezzanine. Cocotte, the hotel restaurant, is as interesting as the hotel, serving a minimalist design breakfast (a choice between a fruit bowl, continental, or american), and delicious comfort dinner food inspired by rustic French countryside cuisine. I stayed @Wanderlust for three days in March 2014 while on a business trip and the hotel made this short stay a memorable experience. Out of the comfort zone, but with the help of a wonderfully (graphically) well designed itinerary guide, provided by the hotel, I explored the rich neighborhood in the evening, and truly enjoyed the sense of authenticity in the surrounding streets, which contrasted with the artificiality of my workplace in the city. Service was outstanding, check in and check out smooth and efficient. Will definitely come back.

Hi JH,

Thank you for your lovely review of your stay at the Wanderlust Hotel!

We are delighted that you enjoyed the whole experience from the room stay to the food at Cocotte and the culturally rich neighbourhood! Being situated in such a vibrant and dynamic area of Singapore, we try to assimilate and embody these characteristics of the neighbourhood in the hotel with each floor designed by a different design agency.

Our doors are always open to welcome you back to the Wanderlust Hotel and should you wish to try a different property, feel free to check out our sister hotel - New Majestic Hotel which is likewise located in the cultural enclave of Chinatown.

Looking forward to welcoming you back to the Unlisted Collection group of hotels and wishing you many more exciting trips in the year ahead!

Warm regards,

Stayed at space themed room over the weekend as I have heard many good reviews on this hotel; very nice and unique rooms. The breakfast area was oso great and food was just nice although limited selection. The room was a tad too dark but it definitely looks like u r in space with the twinkling lights all around the room.
However one major major disappointment which spoilt my stay was the service I received. In particular, I was served by this staff called jerica. She didn't have a smile on her face at all, and listed down the tiles and regulations of the hotel as though she is a discipline mistress when we checked out the next day, I was also served by her, and her service was still a total disappointment. I really hope this feedback would be taken into consideration bcos this hotel is a nice getaway if not for the disappointing service.

Hi Lydia H,

Thank you for staying at the Wanderlust Hotel!

We are delighted to hear that you like your space loft room as well as breakfast at Cocotte. The space room might be slightly dark for some as we try to emulate the feeling of being in space with use of the black walls and lights akin to starry stars.

At the Wanderlust Hotel, we pride ourselves in providing a personable service to our guests and we would like you to know that we take your feedback very seriously and will look into the matter. In light of the matter, kindly allow me to share that it is within our standard procedure for our Front Desk to share with guests upon check-in about the hotel's policies and information pertaining to the hotel's facilities.

We hope that you will not take this incident personally and we will continue to strive and improve our service standards. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Unlisted Collection group of hotels, and perhaps you would like to check out our sister hotel - New Majestic hotel when planning your next getaway.

Warm regards,
