“Fantastic Stay at Fullerton Bay”
Reviewed 8 February 2012

We stayed at the Fullerton bay in Jan 2012 for three nights for a stop over returning to Australia from our Euorpean Chistmas holiday. The hotel is expensive but really fantastic - it has a lovely setting directly on the water looking over towards the Marina Bay Sands.

The rooms are modern but elegant - beds great and bathroom is fantastic. We had a nice balcony overlooking the water, Nespresso machine and complementary internet. The service we had was really good - and we got along well with all of the staff. The roof bar and pool is very cool - but can be very busy at the weekends.

The dining room is amazing with very tall ceilings with beautiful decoration - breakfast is also excellent.

We highly recommend staying here - although we are staying at the Intercontinental for our next trip (F1) - the Fullerton bay is in a different league...very boutique and chic. It is also miles above the Marina Bay Sands which we had a look at during our stay.

I stayed here with my parents as my mom had a medical appointment. The property itself was charming and simply marvelous, with a wonderful view to match. The service was really top notch and impeccable! We had to give breakfast a miss as we were running late (though breakfast had been delivered to the room). I asked them not to clear it as we would be back by mid morning and we can then have breakfast. The front staff told me that they will clear it and keep it warm and we can call them to have it delivered again when we got back. The medical check took longer than expected and we got back after 2pm. When I called the front desk they informed me that they had thrown the food away as it was no longer fresh and would make us fresh ones instead. They even called to check if my mother was feeling better. The staff there made it a very pleasant and memorable stay. I would definitely return if I ever was in town.

The Fullerton Bay Hotel is a swish designer property, which is an offshoot of the Fullerton Hotel. Its location on the bay opposite the Marina Bay Sands and next to the CBD makes it an ideal watering hole for itinerants visiting Singapore, be they tourists or business types.

The hotel is small enough to be classed as boutique: its shiplike steel and glass design sits on top of an old pier from the days before land reclamation overlooking the newly created bay. The rooms are architect/ designer uber cool, complete with glassed in bathrooms, sliding glass doors, waterfall showers, electronically operated curtains and unfathomable electronic light switches. They feature every amenity: Nespresso machines, iPod docks, international power sockets, and free WiFi. Our room was on the ground floor and had a deck which faced the Marina Bay Sands, with its Louis Vuitton Island shop and its absurd aerial boat. While very attractively designed and very functional, the rooms are just a bit too small – you tend to collide with many of the designer square edges in the night and the clothes storage space is woefully inadequate for two on an extended trip like ours – a small wardrobe and two drawers!

The public areas are limited: the formal dining room is attractively finished in a more traditional style in a nod to the old Fullerton Hotel – we had an excellent buffet breakfast there, although the hotel has no idea at all how to make cappuccinos! There is a bar/coffee shop area in the Lobby, which is rather lacking in atmosphere, and a very nice open air rooftop bar, where the hostess seemed reluctant to seat us as we didn’t have a reservation!

On our first day, the air conditioning had been set to arctic levels everywhere (even colder than the usual in Singapore). On the second day, the temperature was far more agreeable.

Our overall views? This is a good property which is probably better suited to the two night trip business stopover than the holiday trip we were on. At SGD 680++ the value for money is not quite there – you do better service and room wise at the Raffles, the Ritz Carlton Club floor or at the Shang, for the same or less money. One final word: the staff need to smarten up a bit: while pleasant and accommodating, they reveal no sense of passion for what they do and they tend not to go the extra mile for their guests. Having said that, this is a new hotel and the service levels will improve over time.

This the 3rd time we have stayed in this hotel and it is most definitely the finest in Singapore in our opinion, the service, quality of food, ambience, quality of rooms and facilities is second to none. You feel special when you stay here, unlike our friends who felt just one of a number in their huge impersonal hotel.. We enjoyed our wonderful buffet breakfast each morning overlooking the river, loved walking to boat quay at night, the hotel is central for just about everything, and the concierge - James Dean was just so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Indeed, all the staff were amazing. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Our room had all the facilities and more that one requires for a stay whether for just 1 night or in our case 6. The rooftop pool is a haven for relaxing after the heat of the day sightseeing and the Post Bar a lively place for a drink in the evening. Nothing is too much trouble for this hotel.

Room Tip: We paid slightly more for a room on the 8th floor but the rooms were very quiet

The Fullerton Bay Hotel is a new comer to join the fabulous band of luxury hotels in Singapore. Ideally situated on Marina Bay adjacent to the old site of Clifford pier, it commands a wonderful vista of the bay and the three towers of Marina Bay Sand Hotel across the water. We stayed two nights and found the service impeccable. Our corner room is superb with glass-clad walls and a small balcony to enjoy the waterfront. It is luxuriously furnished and we particularly like the glass-walled bathroom with a tv to catch up on the news while luxuriating in a warm bath. Bliss! Breakfast is sumptuous and lunch at their Clifford Restaurant is delicious and very stylishly presented. This boutique hotel is small and intimate and the interior is stylish and contemporary, the work of Andre Foo, the internationally renowned interior designer. If you want to treat yourself and splurge out in Singapore, this is the hotel to stay. It is ideally situated near the main colonial centre of the city and 5 mins from Raffles Place MRT station.

Room Tip: Choose a corner room to take advantage of the bay view.

We had 2 nights in this stunningly situated hotel on the bay in a bay facing room, well worth the extra to be able to enjoy the stunning day and night views. Breakfast was a feast of delights and healthy options. Great location for exploring the sights of this beautiful city, hope to return one day.

We recently stayed for 6 nights at the Fullerton Bay Hotel in a Bay View room. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious and very well presented, pleasant decor, was exceptionally clean, and was cleaned twice a day by the room attendant.
Our trip was part business, part holiday, and we felt that the hotel was suited to us both. It is very well located for sightseeing and close to the metro.
Breakfast was good, plenty of choices for all tastes.
To sum it up, this was the best hotel that we have ever stayed in.
