Stayed here for 4 nights during a recent business trip, due to its proximity to the financial district and affordable pricing. The hotel is inside Chinatown and was converted from an old row house. The lobby is quite beautifully designed. After reading other reviews online, I decided to reserve and executive room instead. Despite being an executive room, its rate was still cheaper than other hotel rooms in the city center. I have no problems about the room and the services, given its superb location and alike.

As a reasonably priced solution for a stopover where you know you just need a shower and good sleep - this is perfect.

Enjoy the hawker centres and Chinatown street stalls, the staff are helpful and polite. I would stay again. Shuttle from the airport was $9 and taxi back was $25.

I did bike around Singapore too and it's just a 2 block walk away which is handy.

Check-in was quick and easy, the hotel was easy to find. Located in a great location in Chinatown, shops and restaurants are at the doorstep of the hotel. Even with the close proximity to the street the noise level from the outside is quite minimal. The hotel is across the road from Chinatown MRT and also ChinaTown Point shopping centre. I booked a Queen Deluxe room with early bird special discount and was given a room closer inside the building which is probably why there was no street noise. The room had no windows, thus no views.

My family had another room booked on a separate floor and the feedback was tiny and that the door when opened hit the bed. The queen deluxe is a little bigger and has a table available for storage.

The air-conditioning temperature was a little smelly the first night but once we got it off 24 degrees, it was fine. My family’s room air-conditioning broke the first night and was blowing out hot air the whole night. Reception got this fixed the next day.

The hot water in the rooms doesn’t last long in the shower and the frosted screens aren’t entirely protected for privacy. The shower glass walls are a little see through.

Free wifi is available in all rooms and the speed is acceptable.

Do not under any circumstances use the on-site massage parlour, the staff are not professionally trained and do not know how to provide a relaxing atmosphere. I’m not sure if the shop is part of the hotel but it is not recommended to visit as it is overpriced and my back hurt a heap more after the massage.

The noise level from other rooms was terrible in the hotel, as all the rooms are packed in tight and close together. We could hear our neighbours talking and kids running down the hallway every morning. It is totally disruptive to sleep quality.

The Porcelain Hotel is in a great location for a short stay and storage of luggage. If you are looking for something with average living space, do not book this hotel. If you are looking for a hotel in a convenient area with safe luggage storage area during the day and minimal trimmings, book this hotel.

The outside of the hotel and lobby look really hip and cool, but when you walk into the rooms you'll be blown away--by the size. I lived in Japan for two years and have traveled there extensively, so I'm pretty well-acquainted with small rooms... and man, the size of this room makes a Japanese capsule hotel look a suite at the Hyatt. VERY. SMALL. ROOMS. The hotel is on a very busy street, so you'll hear garbage trucks, party people, cars, EVERYTHING from inside the room.

The price of this hotel is also very expensive (but low cost for Singapore standards). Still, if I'm paying over 100 USD a night I at least expected a breakfast or maybe a room that was a little larger? I was also surprised to see that this hotel is surrounded by hostels that look just as good--or better--than this place. It made me wonder if I should have just stayed at the neighboring hostel instead?

Location is good, close to subway and other main areas in town, and the nearby China town street food is a godsend. Best food ever.

Still, maybe stay at the hostel nearby and get the same standard room for half the price?

The staff is heplful

A very compact but clean room, definitely not its single elevator which smells terrible. The staffs at the reception works very fast and very helpful during our check in. The location was perfect, 3 minutes walk from MRT Chinatown station. If your itineary for visit are mostly Clarke Quay area, this should be a place to considered.

Location is excellent, very close to the Chinatown MRT, couple transfers from the international airport, but so easy to get to. Staff were warm and welcoming, but the problem started as soon as I "tried" to walk in my room, quite shocked that a hotel that charges so much, is sooooo small!
The room was actually quite smaller than a walk in closet, small twin bed with large flat screen at foot of bed, really no room to move around, or lay out suitcase, luckily my stay was only for 1 night! The staff were extremely helpful with providing me directions and such. Singapore is very clean, and nice BUT very expensive, but nice city to go explore in, would recommend visiting Sentosa Island, nice modern, with Universal City, and casino, just make sure you bring your passport for entry if not a Singapore native; that was my mistake, couple stops away via MRT.

This is the perfect hotel for exploring Singapore, especially Chinatown. Rooms are compact and bijoux. If that"s a problem for you go elsewhere, but who comes to Singapore to sit in a hotel room? Staff were very friendly; will certainly stay here again.
