Thanks for the nice stay in 5footway.inn. Everything was super clean and the people were really nice! I especially liked to sit on the balcony on first floor were they had water and free coffee. The breakfast was good and all sites were easily accessible by MRT. The station was right in front of it.

The 5footway.inn in Chinatown is clean and convenient. It's also near the MRT station. Like the name, the distance from here to MRT is "5footway" around.
Highly recommended. All the staff here always solve any problems quickly. The wi-fi is very fast and the air-con is very good, especially in such a warm island. Breakfast always serve fruits, toast, cereal and milk.
The price is fair, and we use the long-term staying promotion for 30 days.
The best point is the hostel near all the famous attractions in Singapore. And it is also near the SGH and NUH, suggesting if you have chance to have training course in such places, the hostel might be a good choice.
But the hostel near the pagoda street, sometimes noisy. And the space is not quiet really large. I suggest 4~6 persons together registering one room might be better.

My first time to stay in hostel with family, we bring two teenagers with us, new experience for them. We booked a four bed room, it's just next to bathrooms and toilet, quite convenient. My boy and girl seems ok for going to public bathroom and toilet. The room is small yet clean and tidy, as we will be out for whole day, it's ok for us. Very good price for four of us to stay in Singapore downtown for 3 nights. The location is very convenient, we have late night dinner around and last minutes shopping, also travel agent nearby to buy cheaper tickets for all the sites we visit e.g. night safari, Universal studio, Singapore flyer..... I think it's a smart decision to stay in this hostel.

We stayed here for only one night. It is surely the nicest hostel I've ever been in-the room was large and spacious. It didn't feel cramped at all, we were in an all female dorm with 6 beds. We literally just slept, showered and ate breakfast there. The bathrooms could be better designed-it felt cramped and not very neat (again, I realize that it is difficult in a hostel, especially with toilets) but we felt that they could make it more effective somehow. Breakfast was basic but good-toast, cereal, fruit and coffee. The milk was weird though..Not sure if it was soy milk or what, but we couldn't finish our cereal. If they could replace that with real milk-great.

Staff was cordial and professional, but not overly friendly. I am sure that for the price we payed in Singapore, this is good value.

Just a short walk from Chinatown MRT station, it is very easy to find. Provide free breakfast, such as bread, milk, coffee & cereal. Outside the hostel is the famous Chinatown street, you can almost find anything you want.

originally, i planned to stay at the beary best hostel, however, all rooms were filled on that night. so i walked around and saw this hostel. it was kinda expensive for a hostel in singapore. considering a bed in a 4 person dorm was like 40$.

the good thing about this place though is its location, and, its also the bad thing about this place.

its set in the middle of china town on pagoda street. just a few steps away from the MRT entrance, so you're well connected to everything.

however, if your looking forward to an early rest, you better be really tired that you wouldn't be able to mind the noise that goes on outside.

only stayed one night here, the week end before chinese new year, so the whole street is made into a market. nice experience, but very crowded.

wifi connection is fast, and they also have a couple of macs you can use.

breakfast is basic, toast with jam, cereals, and fruits. might as well go down south bridge road towards the food court fronting the buddhist temple and get yourself a good hot bowl of fish porridge or some other singaporean delights.

staff were quite helpful giving hints on where to go or what to do.

all in all its an okay place.

would i stay here again, probably not, there are other hostel options, that can be cheaper, and with singapore's mrt so efficient, you can hit chinatown easily in a day, then be done and over with it.

My husband and I booked this room with not a lot of option as it was the high season between Christmas and New Year's. We booked a room with two twin beds because that was the only option available for a private room. There was no mention that the twin beds would be bunked when we booked through hostelworld. So we were very disappointed when we arrived to see that they were. In addition, this room was VERY small. We dubbed it the jail cell, which may be too much of a compliment for this room as jail cells typically have a toilet and a sink.. but about the size of a jail cell. Really and truly a very depressing room that was stark. It was also a very noisy hostel. All through the night you can here people coming and going as the doors slide to shut and often shut with a bang if you aren't super diligent to close it lightly.

The bathrooms were ok, but at the price we were paying for a terrible room, I would have expected more. My showers were consistently luke warm to cool in temperature, though my husband did say his were pretty warm.

I will say that the location is good if you want to walk out of the door and be surrounded by thousands of people and cheap tourist shops. It is VERY close to the MRT, but we felt the atmosphere of Pagoda street was extremely overwhelming.

All in all, I just think that this place was not for us. Wouldn't recommend it for couples.

Room Tip: I'm guessing all the rooms are the same. We were on the second floor close to the terrace area...
