“Bad!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2012

Hotel looks fresh and new, room was nice but small. Would have been a great place to stay had it not been the bad experience with staff at the counter.

Was checked in into the hotel by a Priscilla. Extremely unfriendly and unprofessional attitude (makes one wonder why was she hired in the first place). Not even a friendly smile by her upon reaching the counter and she didn't even bother explaining the facilities that was provided in the hotel!

Check out was handled by a Jocelyn, who was curteous and friendly. It was nice of her to offered me access to the gym on the 8th floor if I wish to have a place to shower after informing her that I have a late flight.

Might consider coming back but then, maybe not as there are many other options to choose from in Singapore.

The natural elements (wood, stone, water) are given centerstage in this brand new hotel. Can you spell relaxation? That's what you get when you step in Oasia. Got a club room and the express check-in in the club lounge is a nice touch. Were given refreshing drinks while waiting to be checked in. Enjoyed the exclusivity and the special care we got from the staff. Had our fill of Asian noodles when hunger pangs hit late in the evening. Breakfast was adequate and very classy. Drank cup after cup of coffee (you get to choose how you want it-hot,cold,cappuccino,latte,etc.) The room was modern with so many hidden cabinets hiding surprises but a bit on the small side. Good for 2 persons max otherwise it could get tight. The rainshower was heavenly. The bed was firm and will ensure good sleep as you cannot feel the other person moving. Enjoyed the pool both on the club floor and 8th floor. Since Oasia is located in a quiet area of Singapore, the peace you get when you go back after a day out adds to the charm.

Stayed in this hotel recently whilst in Singapore for the "Great Singapore Sale". It's new and the location is very near to the main shopping hub of Orchard. Location is very good considering the MRT is located barely 100meters from the hotel. (Although getting to it takes some exploration and the nearest route to the MRT is NOT following the signages)

the building by itself is a bit funny, sharing part of the building with a Hospital, hence floors 2 to 7 is occupied by the hospital, rooms are above the pool and "garden" which is located on the eight floor" .

Rooms are pretty decent, chic and modern is the theme, and all amenities of a 5 star hotel is present, there is even a coffee machine in the room similar to nespresso's where thy provide 2 pods a day. Unfortunately one is decaffienated. 2 bottles of drinking water is also provided and some tea as well.

Toilet is ok, although I reckon it's a bit embarrassing for some since everything is glass and the sliding glass door either closes the shower or the WC. All in all, everything you'd expect in a reputed 5 star hotel.

One thing that I find utterly disappointing is that the bed is super firm and one of the pillow provided is as hard as a wooden pillow, hence reducing the sleep quality.

On thing though, the view from our hotel room overlook the pool and the opposite condominium and if anyone is thinking of going around "au naturale" i suggest to close the super cool electric blinds.

The Oasia is one of the newest hotels in Singapore. Service and decor were excellent. The shower was great. The breakfast buffet was very good. Location is convenient to the metro, food, and shopping. One odd thing is that there are no drawers for clothes in the room. The small gym has modern equipment and the pool on the 8th floor is cool.

Have just completed my third stay in three months.

I like this hotel because I get a good night's sleep. The beds are comfortable and there are nice touches in the rooms – the safe with a power point, so phones/cameras can be left on charge and remain secure; and electric blinds capable of operation from the bedside. The TV is easy to use and when switched back on returns to the last channel used – regular travellers and users of big US chain hotels will know what I mean! The rooms are well lit, and airy which makes up for the slightly small size, but for a two night visit they are adequate.

The aircon is a bit of a mystery but I usually get it right after a short while. It is quiet and effective.
The shower was a delight on previous visits, as it was the ‘tropical downpour’ variety, however I suspect too many people have enjoyed long showers and management has had the water pressure cut to a trickle and one almost has to run around in the showere to get wet – and there is no option of a bath. On this visit the shower screens were filthy and the shelf above the sink had not been cleaned. The cushions on the window seat had prominent stains which made them avoidable. Two lights were not working. A disappointing deterioration in standards.

Wi-Fi works faultlessly throughout the hotel and can be included in your package by negotiation.

The restaurant is very busy during breakfast; getting tea or coffee can be haphazard and the food nothing to write home about. Lunch is a better proposition as there are fewer guests and the ratio of staff is much improved. The Asian food is generally of better quality than the western food.

My client uses the conference facilities and these are adequate although as they are on B1 level it becomes tiresome working in a windowless room for several days. The conference staff are always charming and anxious to please.

Have yet to try the swimming pool, but it looks very exposed as it is overlooked by the two blocks of flats behind the hotel.

Stayed here for 2 nights on a business trip.

Service at the desk was prompt. The room looked very well appointed and new. No complaints on the internet speed, was fast. I was expecting the room to be a bit smaller since there is a lack of space in Singapore but the room size surprised me (I took the superior room only). The design is very modern and I quite like it. Beds are nice and firm, had a great nights rest here. My only gripe would be the toilet and it was a bit cramped, but nicely designed.

I didnt really fancy the breakfast as the restaurant for the buffet breakfast was not large enough to cater for all the guests, especially if they came at the same time. Made the place feel a bit stuffy.

Location wise, it is very convenient, right beside a mall and under the mall is a subway (Novena Station), which gets to almost anywhere around the country. There is also an Express bus service that stops at the mall. It leavers Singapore to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, so if ur planning to head there, this is a good place to stay over.

With the abundance of good hotels in Singapore, I am unsure if I will stay here again, but I will definitely recommend this place without a doubt.

The Oasia is a quality hotel with standards equivalent to a 5 star international hotel brand. Although there were a few minor issues.

We stayed in one of the lowest category rooms but found it comfortable, luxurious, and well appointed. Others have commented that the rooms are small, but we thought ours was more than adequate. On our first night we had an issue with the air conditioning, and the room was like a sauna. But this turned out to be a thermostat dial that worked opposite to how it was labelled. 'Warmer' was in fact 'cooler'. In the mornings there was a little bit of corridor noise.

The hotel is very close to the Novena MRT station, and made it really easy to get around. We even caught trains to and from the airport. We bought the Singapore Tourist Pass, which gave us unlimited travel. This way we didn't have to worry about how much credit we had, and could just explore Singapore. It was tricky to find our way back to the hotel sometimes though, as there are two connected shopping centres at Novena, and multiple escalators to get you on the same level as the hotel.

For a place like Singapore and such a nice hotel, wifi was expensive. These days charging high prices for wifi is like a hotel charging you for the basics like electricity or water.

There were slight negatives, but overall we were very impressed. When we return to Singapore the Oasia will be high on our list.
