This hotel is new and has all the nice amenities of a modern hotel room. Location is good as it is in a quite neighborhood and sited just beside a shopping complex (Velocity@Novena) and MRT station. You are just 2 stations away from Orchard for some serious shopping but if you don't feel like traveling there is a variety of shops and restaurants at Velocity.

I paid an extra SGD40++ on arrival for breakfast (x2) and club facilities and it was worth it. You also get free drinks from the minibar and at the club floor. Breakfast at the Zaffron was very good and you can also take your breakfast at the club floor on 22nd floor where you can get a view of the northern part of Singapore. You can get specialty coffee at the club floor but the food variety is less as compared to at Zaffron.

The thing about this hotel is the size. Almost everything is small in size. Your rooms are small, the gym is small and the restaurant is small and will be crowded during breakfast. Not really suitable for a family with kids unless you are willing to shell out for the suite. Even in the room you will not find much space to move about and I feel this is the biggest factor which will prevent me from staying here again.

Room Tip: Take your breakfast at Zaffron instead of the Club floor. There is more variety at Zaffron unless you want the view at the 22nd club floor.

Great location and the room was excellent. Rain shower was a great relief after business meeting. Trust me, the "cool rain" is really good. Breakfast spread was great, except the waitress will clear your table for other guest before you are done. Personal touch of housekeeping is a great idea to check on guest needs. The room interior and bed are real comfy. Staff are friendly and helpful. Will return on my next business trip.

Stayed 2 nights last week with this hotel, overall it has good location, facility and my room is not big but functional, clean, and great wi fi connection for my iPhone, iPad and laptop etc.

But the main frustration caused by its key system in their lifts ... they use "smart" key that you need to place your room key at "sensor" to access your floor. 7 out of 10 times, it didn't work (not only me but other guests in same lift too :-(

Dear Norman_HK,

Thank you for your review concerning your recent stay with us.

We have noted the areas where we fell shorts of expectations especially concerning the card sensor in our lift. We have contacted the vendor to rectify and will work towards measures to ensure that our guests have a more enjoyable experience with us.

We look forward to having another opportunity to host you again soon.

Excellent location with a team of extraordinarily nice and helpful staff. Though room size is just average (our booking is superior room), very comfortable bedding that a sweet sleep is guaranteed. Definately will come back for our next visit to Singapore and recommended to friends.

For the Missus’ birthday celebration this year, I decided to do something special and planned a staycation – an secret weekend getaway at Oasia Hotel.

We had made a lunch reservation at Aoki (which, by the way, is a fabulous Japanese restaurant) for 12pm, and so we arrived at 11:15am (check-in time was 2pm) intending to leave our luggage with the hotel before returning at a later time to check-in. I had called the day before, and they confirmed that we could do this, which is great news for travellers who arrive in Singapore via an early flight.

I had booked a Weekend Savers Rate Plan (Oasia Club Room) via the hotel’s website. A day after reservation, I received an email asking if I’m interested to include an eStandby Upgrade option.

How this works is that you can indicate certain room upgrades you want at given price e.g. corner room @ S$15, or a “Bukit Timah” view @ S$15. Upon check-in, you can choose whether or not to pay for the upgrade if there are available rooms. The best option of all is the choice to upgrade from a Club Room to a Club Suite for only S$79, before taxes!

The hotel reception made a few checks and concluded that the Oasia Suite is available, and we could pay S$79 for the upgrade, AND we could check-in early! Well, we took it, of course! That’s what this review is all about!

We were brought to the Living Room at level 22 to continue with our check-in. Cold towels and welcome drinks are provided – I’m beginning to feel like I’m at a resort already.

After a quick admin procedure, we were led to our suite. There are a total of four Oasia Suites in Oasia Hotel, two each at level 24 and 25. We would be staying in the one at the top floor, with the fantastic view.

The Oasia Hotel is rectangular in shape, with the lifts located at one end of the hotel. The suites occupy both ends of the hotel, giving you a 180-degree view of whichever side you’re are. The suite that is nearer to the lift is the “not-so-good suite” due to the close proximity to the lift, and also because the view isn’t as good.

Oasia Hotel is flanked by Novena Square Office Tower (to the west) that is 25-floors high, and also Soleil @ Sinaran condominium (to the south). If you take the suite at the far end of the hotel, you have an almost totally unblocked view, except Tower A of Soleil @ Sinaran. Check out Street Directory and search for “Oasia Hotel” and you’ll get what I mean.

The suite is divided into two separate areas – the living room and the bedroom. The living room is brightly lit with the surrounding bay-windows.

Well, people in Soleil @ Sinarans can practically see what each other is doing! The swimming pool below actually belongs to Oasia Hotel, and the open-air common pool is located at level 8. Pretty decent size, I think? There are also a few jacuzzi there.

As per some suites in Singapore hotels, there are two bathrooms, with one connected to the living room. Pretty standard stuff here. Pretty neat mini-bar and beverage area equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine. Naturalis tea packets for non-coffee drinkers. Snacks and drink from the mini-bar are complementary so we stuffed ourselves with these!

The use of wood gives the suite a very cozy and warm feeling, almost like this is not a hotel but a resort! Just like what we had at Quincy Hotel, the safe also incorporates an charging outlet for added convenience.

There is a spacious work area in the room, but then who would want to work when you have a suite to relax in? The natural light is more than sufficient and gives the room a lovely glow. A list of cable channels available – movies, news, cartoon and more.

The rooms along the north side of the hotel should be having the “Bukit Timah” view. A shot of what we can see from our suite bedroom – that should be Caldecott Hill if I’m not wrong.

In the suite, there are numerous electronic controls like these that you can use to switch on/off the lights and control the curtains. The blinds/curtains in the suite (including the bathroom) are all electronically controlled and can be drawn up at the press of a button.

Special mention for the wooden flooring – no matter how cold the air-conditioning is, it is still very comfortable to walk around barefoot in the room.

The bathroom – twin basins, marble flooring and huge bathtub. Nice? No more fighting over the same basin. Below the basins, there is a digital weighing scale.

Toiletries from Thann. Toothbrush, shaving kit, comb and more. The bathtub is huge and can accommodate two persons comfortably. The WC and the rain-shower is located in its individual cubicle.

TOTO WC! The toilet seat can be warmed to your desired temperature, along with a variety of options. How cool is that?

During our stay at Oasia Hotel, we have exclusive access to The Living Room at level 22, which is open to Club guests only. The seating area is divided into indoor, and outdoor. It happened to be drizzling while we were there, so the end of the table was a little bit wet.

As it was the all-you-can-drink cocktail hours, we ordered ourselves a couple of drinks. Below is the Oasia Bliss, the signature drink of Oasia Hotel. During this time, an assortment of finger-food (tarts, mini-burgers, etc) are available for guests’ consumption. For guests who stayed at the Club Room or Club Suite, breakfast is served here as well. Not exactly a huge selection and it was satisfactory.

It was a delightful experience staying at the Club Suite, and definitely one hotel we would miss coming back to. The Club Suite with the fantastic view made all the difference in the world.
We didn’t really get to try out all the amenities in the hotel – there is a gym and a bigger pool at level 8. The restaurant named Zaffron at the ground level where we had our complimentary buffet dinner was OK, but the food was nothing to shout about. There is Cold Stone Creamery ice-cream though!

The service we experienced during our stay was great. I’m nitpicking here but I feel that service standard on the whole isn’t exactly consistent. The doorman/porter who helped us with the luggage during check-in was super-friendly and wears a huge smile on his face. On the other hand, the reception staff who checked us in/out seemed a tad less friendly, even though their service and attitude were fine and couldn’t be faulted.

Location-wise, Oasia Hotel is just a couple of minutes away from Orchard Road (two train stations away) and can help you to save a couple of bucks if you would like to stay in a decent business hotel at an affordable price.

Having said that, TripAdvisor does have a few reviews which gave it a poor/average rating – do check them out and make your own decision!
