“Cool and good design hotel”

Good design hotel near Novena station, bit far from orchard however only few more stop by MRT. If you does not care about location I can recommend. really clean. Swimming pool is middle of the huge condominium near hotel so unable to see sunshine all the time, if you want to suntan, be careful the timing. Overall really good stay there. Stay there on AUG2012

Amazing place. Very clean, comfortable, and food was good

Rooms were very clean, comfortable and bathrooms were great.

Janice Roy and Margret Inocencio were so helpful, polite and friendly. They helped us out so much with planning things to do and how to get places. They know how to make each guest feel special. They even sent a nice congratulations card for our wedding.

Keep up the excellent customer service and thank you for a wonderful stay.

This is a great modern hotel with pleasant staff.
Location is very convenient, just above the MRT and food court/shopping mall.
The swimming pool is decent size. The room are clean and modern althought a bit small for us (couple with young child). We haven t try the food or breakfast so I cannot comment on this.
Don t read the comments about the staycations. The locals are well known for beeing unhappy and demanding. I found the staff vey dedicated and helpful at this hotel. Thank you to the staff for making our stay comfortable and easy.

I went to Oasia Hotel with two of my friends for a staycation after much consideration. I have had great experience in another Far East Hospitality hotel so I think I might have had expected too much for Oasia. Oasia's location was great, it was directly connected to Novena MRT - a very short walk away. Check-in was not as smooth as it took very long and the receptionist did not look very happy. If she smiled or was happier, we would not have minded the long waiting time.

The room, however, was fantastic! We all loved the modern design and found the room bigger than expected for a basic hotel room. It was also very clean and bright.

We went to the pool for a swim in the afternoon and in the morning of the next day. The first time round, we ordered some truffle fries and sadly, it was to our disappointment. We paid $12 for slightly soggy fries with no indication of the truffle. When we went to the pool the next morning, there were no towels and someone had to call the reception desk to get some. This is something that should not have happened, although it is very minor. We did enjoy lazing around the pool and Jacuzzi though.

Checking out was smoother than before but still it was a pretty long wait. Maybe it was because we were at Oasia during the weekends, but I hope the staff at Oasia will try smiling more - it will go a long way!

(This review's written from the perspective of two Singaporean staycationers who checked in with no plans. If you're visiting from overseas with different expectations, or if Oasia is merely a venue for other plans you've made, your experience might be different)

Oasia's a good hotel in that it is clean, has well-mannered staff, nice finishings and comfortable rooms. I personally really liked the design, colour palette and fixtures. My wife and I, however, found our 3D2N Club Room staycation there very poor value for money. We were underwhelmed by the experience. It was a thoroughly forgettable experience.

The Club Room isn't bigger than the small standard room. You feel the smallness of the room immediately. The view isn't necessarily better either - although on a higher floor, our room overlooked the balconies of the neighbouring condominium. The soundproofing of the rooms is also incredibly bad. Corridor noises, and even sounds from other rooms were surprisingly clear in the room. Very bizarre!

The Club Room's exclusive lounge, the Living Room, is also so-so. While it does offer a free flow of food and drink, the menu's limited. Also, unless you're a glutton or a binge drinker, you won't ever get a sufficient return on the extra price you pay for the privilege to use the facility, even after you factor in the ambience. It's fun grabbing drinks from the fridge for the first 10 minutes or so, then lounging by a pool, but that soon gets old, especially since the view isn't particularly spectacular. One could do the same thing at any condo.

My wife and I swam in both the private and public swimming pools and the experience was similar. In fact, we had to use the latter pool because we wanted some sun. The private pool's completely sheltered. Although we stayed on a weekend, both pools were not crowded. There's little reason to pay extra to use the private pool.

The staff are well-trained and polite when they interact with you. But that's if you get their attention. Standards can slip when the hotel gets busy. For example, I was left standing in the exclusive Club Room queue at the front desk because the two receptionists were so busy handling guests that they didn't look up to see that I was in that separate queue. Instead, they just served whoever went up to them, looking down for the most part. I certainly didn't feel very special as a Club Room guest at that point in time. I was similarly overlooked by the receptionist at the Living Room because she apparently had to do double-duty as a waitress.

All in, my wife and I didn't have any major issues with Oasia Hotel in general. Our experience would probably have been better if we had paid standard room rates because our expectations would have adjusted downwards. But at the Club Room price point, our stay was not value for money at all. The service was warm but not exceptional because staff seemed to be stretched thin. The facilities were similar or only marginally better than that of a condo. The free-flow of food and drinks looked a lot better on paper than in reality.

As staycationers, we'd only recommend the Club Room upgrade if it's heavily discounted (or free). In hindsight, we feel a bit silly paying the amount that we did for our staycation. We probably would have had a better vacation spending the time to travelling to Bali or Phuket for a weekend. It would have cost the same.

As my title says, you've got to manage your expectations. Oasia Hotel is generally a good hotel, but it may not be the hotel for your needs.

It is heartening to learn that you liked the design of our hotel and appreciated the cleanliness as well as the service level of our staff. It is a regret though to hear that you did not find your Club stay an attractive value proposition.

Although our Club rooms are similarly sized as our Deluxe rooms, aside from the differentiated design by world renowned architectural house Super Potato, all our Club guests get to enjoy exclusive use of our award winning lounge access that serves breakfast, light snacks throughout the day and cocktails in the evenings. We are also one of the few hotels to have an exclusive pool for our Club guests. If you book directly via our website, you also get to enjoy additional perks such as early check in or late check out, free city tour and airport lounge access. The recently launched weekend promotion was well received and the overwhelming response may have inadvertently affected your overall experience. Nonetheless, we have spoken with the relevant departments to ensure that we continue to maintain our service levels during such high demand periods.

You may like to know that we have Club rooms facing the lush Bukit Timah reserve and I would encourage you to request for such rooms to allow you to enjoy the scenic skyline. Our apologies that you were affected by noises from the neighbours at your floor. Had we known about it, we would have offered a room change for you.

Your valuable feedback is instrumental to our efforts in further enhancing the overall experience for our guests. Alongside, we seek your understanding on this occasion where we may not have met your expectations. This hotel's best point was that it connected directly to Novena MRT so it's definitely easily accessible for all. It's also currently the only hotel in Singapore that has a direct link to an MRT station. The rooms are beautiful but even for our Club room it was fairly small although sufficient. The service was excellent and the staff there were more than willing to help you in any way possible.

stayed here for 2 nights for business trip during ramadhan. they should be more concern on the menu that they serve for sahur. in my last night, they were late deliver the foods which caused me skip my sahur. the only good thing, next to novena plaza which makes you easy to find foods.
