Owner description: Bugis Street market has now been transformed into a mecca for shoppers and bargain-hunters. This market has just about everything you could want – CDs, souvenirs, t-shirts, shoes, jewellery, knick knacks and other fashion items.

“Souvenirs, cheap shoes hats bags etc”
Reviewed 28 April 2014 via mobile

I saw tourists walking around with empty trolley bags to fill up - the place is definitely the cheapest place I saw to shop while there. I bought about 8 bags and didn't spend more than £10 equivalent. O bought a baseball cap which by rights wasn't that cheap Other than that I wanted to by more, but it's just junk. Make it a quick visit and have lunch at the Albert food centre on queen at. Eat the carrot cake!!

“A nice little cheap market for the tourist and local alike”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

Having been to the various shopping places where everything is upmarket and expensive found this little gem.Got there on the efficient MRT.Its a little like Victoria Market in Melbourne for clothes and the like but on three floors.Cheap but ok clothes and other stuff that the tourist might want. I bought sunglasses and my wife hats.Ok we have issues but really enjoyed this market and the MRT.The wait for a taxi home was another thing.Use the MRT when you can.

If you like 3 levels of crowded shopping arcades then this is the place for you. For the first 5 minutes I thought it was colorful and interesting but then the sameness of every stall hit me (phone covers, small clothes, small shoes). I am amazed that a place that is allegedly for tourists doesn't deal with shoe and clothes sizes that will suit so many Westerners. (My partner is average Australuan size and wears shirt size Medium in Australia but couldn't find a shirt to fit him comfortably here. As a wearer of Large size, I didn't bother looking.) Quite dull after the first 5 minutes.

“Typical Asian market centre”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

Bugis Street is a typical Asian market centre, bustling with activity and crammed full of stalls and people. The $1 juices you can buy are fantastic, as are the ice cream and wafer sandwiches. Other than the food and beverage options however, everything is fairly cheap and nasty. Fun to walk through, but I wouldn't go expecting to find any high quality goods.

“Great for Souvenirs”
Reviewed 25 April 2014

If you're in Singapore and you can't afford a Ferrari or a real Hermes bag and need to buy some gifts, come to Bugis St. Bugis St. is a typical jampacked shopping experience similar to Pat Pong in Bangkok or the old Tsim Sha Tsui district of Kowloon. Fighting your way through the crowds on the narrow street lined with 100's of tiny shops, you can find almost anything for almost nothing. This is not for quality. This is not for the feint of heart. But this is a lot of fun.
