“A must”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2014 via mobile

A visit to Singapore must include this food hall, if you like Indian food. I had one of my best Indian meals, and I am an addict. Tandoori chicken, keema peas and garlic naan. No fuss or pretentiousness. Just fresh food which was truly amazing. All for S$8. A must if you don't mind scruffy tables, plastic cutlery but fantastic food.

“Good wet markets, fascinating”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 March 2014

A trip to. Little India would not be complete without a walk through Tekka Market Centre. Fruit and vegetables, seafood of all varieties, mutton, goat, chicken, beef all are available and being sold as quickly as prepared - be prepared for the market smells though. Travel upstairs to enjoy the festive colours of the tailors and trade stalls - no shortage of Indian inspired clothes here. The hawkers markets deliver Indian, Malaysian, Chinese inspired foods with plenty to tempt the taste buds. Good access from the little India MRT.

“Great array of Indian apparel & hawker food centre”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 December 2013

Great hawker centre downstairs (wet market too if you are looking for that sort of foodstuff) however the shopping upstairs is 99% Indian clothing so is not great if you are looking for "western" style clothing. For me, not a great tourist destination (except if you are just looking for a nice hawker centre meal) unless you are specifically looking for Indian clothing (which I wasn't).

“Little India all in one complex”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 October 2013

This unassuming multiplex is a wet market, hawker food centre, and a clothing and shopping bazaar all in one. It is home to Singapore's largest wet market (284 stalls), and 2nd largest food centre (119 stalls).

To experience instant India and more, shop for Indian style apparel on the upper floor, and then take your pick of cheap and cheerful Indian dishes at the food centre below. You can also pick up any kind of Indian spice or vegetable or condiment at the wet market.

The market and food centre don't just carry Indian items however and you will also be able to find a whole smorgasbord of any kind of fresh and dry produce at the wet market. At the food centre you will find the usual local Chinese, "western", muslim and Indian food stalls, albeit a much larger selection of Indian stalls than you would normally find in a food centre.

If you're not on a low-carb diet then definitely try the Nasi Beryani (Indian rice dish with meat and spices). There are a few stalls selling this, each with a humongous vat of cooked spiced rice front and centre of their stall.
