“Beautiful floral displays”
Reviewed 19 June 2013

Lovely and good place for kids to run about. Awesome infinity pond. The beginning of the Southern ridges hike. Allow yourself a couple hours just to see this pretty little garden.

“Relaxing, interesting and nice evening walk.”
Reviewed 26 May 2013

My son pestered us to bring him there and finally we were there yesterday (25th May 2013). On arriving, the nice environment really interest us. We reached there around 4pm with sun but not too hot. We spent around 1 and half hour to finish the hort park only. We told ourselves we will leave the canopy walk for the next round. Overall, nice place and if you want peace, you can find here as is not crowded and noisy.
They have very nice toilets around. If you are hungry or thirsty, you can buy some snacks or water from the vending machines. Overall, is convenient. However, it will be good if you can bring your own food.

“Nice place”
Reviewed 30 April 2013

If you want to see something difference and natural, come and visit Hort Park. It's free entrance and the place is very big, you can see so many kinds of plants and flowers. Also from Hort Park you can walk to Alexandra Bridge and passing thru the forest you can reach Henderson Wave Bridge.
It's very relax and nice view. I like to walk in the morning to this place.

“Kew Gardens and Hampton Ct Flower Show rolled into one!”
Reviewed 15 April 2013

So having done the Southern Ridges trail solo I decided to take the family …. This time, having completed the Forest Walk, instead of dropping down to the Alexandra Garden Trail and round Berlayer Creek (as I have done before), we crossed Alexandra Arch to have a look at Hort Park. What a fantastic surprise! Hort Park is not exactly an inspiring or exotic name yet it showcases gardens, glass houses and nurseries and leads to the Canopy Walk – it’s like a cross between London’s Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew and (a permanent) Hampton Ct Flower Show. I can’t believe this haven is such a secret. Even on a Sunday it was almost deserted - and it is FREE of charge – this will DEFINITELY become a favourite stamping ground. The great thing about all these sections of the Southern Ridges is that you can join it at given points. You can taxi up Mt Faber and walk down from there – or take a bus to the foot of the hill which leads to Henderson Waves – or take the MRT to Labrador Park and walk up to Hort Park. If you have a car there are a few car parks. I recommend visiting a few times and take it at a leisurely pace. There are so many little treasures along the way – beautiful views from the Southern Ridge and the exquisite horticultural aspects of Hort Park - ah THAT’s where the names comes from! There is a small but very nice visitors centre. Try and go when it is overcast and even raining slightly - it makes a lot of difference temperature-wise. This is really easy walking and you don't need hiking boots or anything - you can wear flipflops (like a real Singaporean!) - however if you stop to take in the view on the Canopy Walk you may suffer a few nasty nips from teeny ants - they really are miniscule but they deliver quite a bite. Consider wearing socks/trainers ....

“Hort Park”
Reviewed 25 March 2013

I happened to stop by the Park on my walking tour of the Southern Ridges. As I arrived a group of Scouts and their leaders were just setting off on a walk. Nice to see kids out enjoying the area. There happened to be a plant market under cover just inside a building. Saw some orchids for sale. Kept walking and found the Community Garden section. Locals standing around discussing plans for what needed to be done that day - wish I could have joined in. Great idea to have Community Gardens growing lots of vegetables, fruits and herbs.
