Very convenient because it's close to MRT and faced with food street (smith street). The hotel decorates in chinese style, it's all red! They provide some beverages like tea , instant coffee 24hrs. The room is quite small and too dim for us ( there are no windows). Can't wake up in the morning because of its darkness(I woke up around 10AM and thought it was 5AM) , can't read books properly as well.

The Santa grande is a comfortable hotel. The rooms are quite small but for Singapore it is a reasonable deal. The soap was really nice and foamy, but there isn't a real partition in the shower. Also our bed was in a corner so it's not comfortable for two people.

Stayed overnight for a Singapore stopover. Arrived early evening and walked through the markets with our luggage to the front door, there is access from the back street but this was more fun. Atmosphere abounds in this property, yes the rooms were small and bathrooms cramped but we had a room with a balcony over 'eat street' and the markets and we loved it. The foyer and staff were lovely and welcoming. We probably wouldn't pick this hotel for a long stay but will be back for a couple of nights soon to soak up the Chinatown experience.

Room Tip: Corner room had space for 3 with bags but the bathroom was cramped.

It was a small hotel, no frills, but the location is in the heart of Chinatown. The MRT is just 5 minutes away. Service was ok. Good place to shop and taste local food.
Hotel has a unique decoration. It gets a bit noisy at night because of the bars in the neighbourhood. But, it gets quiet at around 11pm. Will go back again.

It is a fancy hotel which enrich with Chinese traditional ornament. The location is near China town MRT station and such, transportation is convenient. There is a new built food street right next to this hotel but it is also the most serious problem. Because the hotel is literally sound insulation, the music played by food street is nonstop and all day long, not kidding, all day long. (from 9am to 11:30 pm) Although we have report it to the staff of hotel and the volume did volume down, it still very noisy.

Room Tip: You'd better check your room is not on the food street side or you will be brainwashed by the Ch...

Having read the reviews, I was prepared for the small room with no windows. My main priority was a quiet non-smoking room at night for a single person and that was what I got.

Room is clean. The aircon and hot water good. TV, though flat screen, was small and sounded cheap. The entire hotel is reddish like a Chinese temple or a brothel (lol). I have no problems with the staff. Polite and helpful. Didn't see a lot of people in the hotel though I think the occupancy is high.

Overall location is excellent. Chinatown has been cleaned up so that's a bonus. I would consider staying there again if they don't price themselves out of the market.

Room Tip: Chinatown is noisy. A lot of hotels are old. Windows and noise go hand-in-hand.
