Had stayed here to celebrate my birthday..
The bell hop is really friendly ..upon check in thought the front desk staff did not seem
warm and friendly..However second day the younger reception was much better.She smiled and greeted us.The breakfast was just okay not too much varieties...
Overall good experience ,Houskeeping staff friendly and nice..

It's a shame - a rather nice building in a pleasant (although not central) location has extremely poor service for South-East Asian standards. I got "NO" as an answer to almost every request. Some things got sorted out eventually (we did get the double bed but only 15 minutes after moving into the single-bed room), and others did not. It's easy to make good breakfast - but not here apparently. You might as well walk across the street to Toast Box. I won't be back and I'm sure you can find a better place to stay in Singapore.

My family stayed at SGH East Coast for 2 nights. And I can say that we enjoyed it there. The location is excellent, it is near bus stations, a church, shopping centers and there are a lot of food stalls to choose from when trying local dishes.
The breakfast buffet they offer is nice also.
The staff are courteous and they always smile and greet us.
I will probably stay there again if I have another chance of Singapore trip/vacation.

Some are not friendly. Looks angry when I couldn't fulfill their requests (documents). And looks not so helpful when I ask several questions. Restaurant staffs are also looks like being afraid of guests are eating free of charge. :) They are chasing aggressively to get vouchers. Overall, customer services & relation need to be improved a lot.

Location : Not very strategic because far from MRT & City Area. This place is near to Joo Chiat road (popular for sex). The advantage is near to 7-11 shop & there're a lot coffee shops surrounding this hotel.

Taxi : Not easy to get taxi from mainroad.

Hotel : Clean, Room size is moderate.


Breakfast : Very little choice but the taste is GOOD.

Internet : Wifi is slow and the signal is not strong in room.

I personally prefer to stay in Bayview Hotel with cheaper price and strategic location with 2-3 min walk to MRT (Bra Basah MRT).

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review and noted some positive points of Santa Grand Hotel East Coast.

In regards to the location of the hotel, we are indeed situated in a Peranakan heritage precinct which aims to introduce Singapore’s unique culture and tradition to visitors and easily accessible with public transport, walking distance to Katong shopping mall and local famous hawker fare just a stone throw away. Besides that, it's also a perfect hotel for transit travelers as is just 15 minutes drive from airport. Our hotel to the main city may seem a little bit far for some travelers, however there is a free shuttle bus at the Katong shopping mall to MRT station, alternatively we will ensure to have sufficient taxis at your disposal.

Stay would have been excellent except for a few issues. Location-wise, it's only 15 mins away from the airport and will only cost you roughly SGD15. However, you need to ride a bus to get to the nearest MRT station (Paya Labar or Eunos) and this can be quite inconvenient for those with young children since you need to fold the strollers when you ride the bus whereas you do not need to do so in the MRT. Service-wise, dining staff was friendly and the front desk staff too, except for one incident wherein I found myself being reprimanded by a front desk staff when I called them to ask directions to a certain place. I found it highly irregular especially since the staff was reprimanding us for something that we did not do. We asked housekeeping to clean the kettle in our room since it had milk stains when we wanted to use it to boil water but we were accused of being the one who boiled milk in it instead, which we NEVER did. I think their housekeeping needs to improve as they did not check that thoroughly before we checked in and there were instances when we had to invariably ask for the amenities kit and the handwash to be replenished. They need to be more attentive in looking into this. The front desk staff also needs to be exercise a little more courtesy and discreetness in conveying things to the customers. Overall though, the rest of the staff was helpful and friendly and it’s a little saddening that our experience was marred by the above incidents.

The room was too small but manageable if you aren’t going to stay in it that much during the day. Good breakfast and wifi. Dining staff was very attentive. Rooftop pool was also great.

Tiny room but, new clean and all you need. Good breakfast and WiFi. It's a fair way out of town but the no. 12 bus is never far away. Roof top pool was cool. Bathroom was excellent and bedding very cofortable. Plenty of good cheap eating places close by.
