i prefer to staying at Grand Mercure Roxy hotel each time I went to Singapore. The room is spacious and clean. Staff are so kind always and helpful. Housekeeping is quite good and people are so nice to guests if you happen to be in the room when they are making your beds. It's really a home away from home.

The Roxy Mercure isn't glamourous. Indeed, there is something about the working men's or gals' hotel about it - I saw no less than three different airline crews either checking in or out. It's where you drop off your bags, grab a quick shower before you go out to shop or eat or do business. Its location is excellent - near enough to the airport to which it offers a shuttle and close to the city - you can easily take a bus and surrounded by facilities. There is Parkway Parade just across for mall shopping and the rather dark and dungy-looking Roxy 1 and 2 Centre beside it - don't knock them because they have an excellent array of massage, foot reflexology and hair-dressing services at affordable prices. These are legit enterprises, sandwiched between wholefood bio stores and tution centes for kids. And on nearby East Coast Road, you get a wonderful sense of Peranakan culture as well as some of Singapore's best restaurants. in fact, the best thing about this hotel is that it gives you a sense of being among Singaporeans going about their everyday life - going to school, checking in at the library and cinema across the road, queing up for spring rolls, dining out with the family, hostel kids playing basketball in their courtyard, ladies getting their hair done, people jogging...
The hotel itself could do with major renovation - the furniture is scuffed and the carpet is totally sad. You get a view of the sea on the higher floors and free internet access in the lobby standing up - a good idea as it limits everybody to a certain time. Staff is friendly and effcient and breakfast is a good selection of East/West favourites.But it really is a place to use as a base rather than a destination in itself. I still can't get over the carpeting - please, please do something about it because I would so like to go back to you...

We are glad to know that you had a nice stay with us and enjoyed the friendliness of our team as well as the breakfast selection at Feat@East Buffet Restaurant. We are also really happy to know how much you appreciate the hotel’s vicinity and that you were able to dive into the locals’ everyday life and enjoy the experience of being part of it. The hotel location is indeed very convenient as we are surrounded by many local eateries, great restaurants, shopping centres and also only walking distance to the beach at East Coast Park. Being close to the airport and providing free airport shuttle service is an advantage for certain type of clientele at this hotel, from business travellers, airline crews, and guests who are in Singapore for a quick stop-over. However, we do have a wider range of customers that includes leisure travellers as well from all over the globe. We appreciate your input on our rooms and we are pleased to let you know that we are currently undergoing upgrading and refurbishment projects and you will be able to enjoy our newly designed guest rooms as well as other facilities. We really look forward to seeing you again during your next visit to Singapore.

This hotel is entitled to get a thumb up, since a free of charge shuttle service to and from the airport is provided with an on time schedule.
Breakfast is good, with ample of variations and choices of food.
But I am wandering, why is it always difficult to get a room facing South ( facing Parkway Parade).

Stayed at the hotel for several days with some of my friends at the end of July and the beginning of August
I expected a four-star to have a little of more fancy, impressive decor - for both public spaces and rooms, but overall it was clean and neat. The hotel was quite busy at that time but we fortunately got a very good rate for Accor staff. The room was clean, bathroom had a little smell at first but the bed was good and I experienced very good sleeps. We also had some troubles with our bookings, but finally (fortunately), everything was settled by the next day. I would like to congratulate the Concierge team, all of them were really helpful by helping us with different tour bookings and trying to solve my little problem too (I forgot my cell on the cab). Also, don't forget the Chinese restaurant, they have really good food there.
A little away from the city centre, but I would recommend this hotel for the ones who seek for a comfortable stay in the hectic city of Singapore.
