We stayed at the Furama RiverFront Hotel for three nights as part of a Singapore Stopover package. The hotel was very comfortable and a great location for the hop on hop off bus, as well as walking distance from Clarke Quay. We didn’t eat in the hotel, so can’t comment on the food but we would be more than happy to stay there again should we be in Singapore.

My wife and I booked this hotel during summer 2012. We were so pleased that we booked again last year (July 2013), and will be going back for a third stay in June 2014. We upgraded to an executive suite the first time, and were pleased to find a large lounge area, separate bathroom and bedroom. There were TVs in both the lounge and bedroom, which was very handy as I watched the Olympic Opening ceremony without disturbing my wife.

The main reason for choosing the suite was the price; there was a special offer on at the time, and it was only about £20 per night more than a basic room. It proved very useful as we have family in Singapore and were able to 'entertain' in the lounge area.

In July 2013 we decided we didn't need the lounge area, so booked an Executive Club room. This was a fairly spacious room, but the bathroom has a glass wall. It has a blind that can be lowered and raised, but I can see how this could be a cause for embarrassment for some people. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, there was free bottled water and tea/coffee making facilities, and a good air-con system.

This year we have booked an Executive Club room again (non smoking). All the executive rooms have the following advantages over ordinary rooms:
1. Free WiFi in the room
2. Use of the Executive lounge for breakfast and at other times
3. Free drinks and nibbles between 6pm and 8pm
4. Late check-out (4pm)

The free drinks and nibbles are excellent. There is a good range of beer, wines and spirits; and the nibbles consist of sushi, rice dishes, sweets, cheeses, biscuits etc.

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and it was nice that several of them remembered us from our previous visit. There is entertainment most nights in the main bar, and there is a happy hour between 7pm and 8pm.

The hotel is well-placed with the following within a 10 minute walk or so: Great World City, Clarke Quay, Tiong Bahru market. Local bus stops are a couple of minutes walk, or you can get the staff to hail a taxi for you.

Overall, very good value for money.

Room Tip: My recommendation: Go for an Executive room - the drinks and nibbles alone are worth the difference...

This hotel, I put my family up when they were visiting from Brunei. Being from Brunei, my family is used to luxury and we were hoping this hotel would deliver for us. We were wrong. This place is chaotic and super boring. The room felt outdated but I have to be saying the staff are very nice. But that is all I can say. My family was not too happy to live here. Lucky only for three nights, so no drama.

This hotel is good value. It is located very conveniently, within walking distance of the Great World City mall. Also, the staff are always quick to hail a taxi and very friendly.

The rooms are nice, but be sure to ask for non-smoking if that's what you want! Some rooms have been smoked in, which is very unpleasant if you're a non-smoker.

Tip: don't eat breakfast at the hotel, but go eat some sushi or other food (for instance at the Great World City mall). The breakfast isn't really the best ever, and the sushi in Singapore is brilliant.

Stayed just for 1 night. Nice lobby and coffee shop/restaurant. Rooms comfortable and friendly service by staff. Decent breakfast spread. Must try the tailoring establishment in the shopping area. Suit delivered in 24hrs and most reasonable price. a bit distance from orchard road and need to take a cab or bus. No free wifi in room and price for this a bit high.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor for a nice view

Had a pleasant stay at this hotel, the rooms were standard, the staff excellent but the location isn't great and $25 per day for internet is ridiculously high.
Loved the high quality entrance and lobby, but the rooms were like anywhere in the world for a bog standard hotel, but ok size. The location is a bit far from anywhere and need taxi or bus to get to where the action is. Wouldn't stay here again especially as plenty of places provide wifi for free.

We stayed a few days before a cruise to KL and the hotel was wonderful, the service was first class and the room was spacious and well equipped. Most staff spoke very good English and the doorman was outstanding arranging taxis and making sure we got to our destinations.
Alcohol in the hotel as with most of Singapore is very expensive, I had a beer waiting for the tour bus and almost choked when it cost almost $30 Aussie dollars for a glass of beer.
The hotel is only a short walk to Chinatown, and a little further, perhaps 20 minutes walk to large shopping centres.

Room Tip: Shops in Singapore open late, about 10am but trade till late at night, so sleep in if you intend to...
