I booked directly with the hotel and got the weekend rate of 240 Singapore dollars, inclusive of breakfast for two, late checkout and a 30 dollar voucher to be used at any of the hotel's restaurants. We got a room on the 9th floor, which was clean and well kept, but it is obvious that it has seen better days. There were stains on the cushions, and the toilet although huge, had a leaking showerhead. My biggest disappointment was the noise. The room overlooked a fountain/waterfall and the sound of water could be heard quite distinctly. It may be soothing for some, but if you're sensitive to noise, then you would need a higher floor. Worst of all, the evening entertainment at the lobby lounge could be heard in the room till midnight. And this was with the TV on in an attempt to drown out the singing! The management needs to look into soundproofing the rooms.
The highlight of the stay was the dinner buffet at AquaMarine. The seafood was fresh and the variety of dishes was quite impressive. In terms of location, the Marina Mandarin can't be beat, but there are other hotels in the area which also have competitive rates.
As with all 4 to 5 star hotels in asia it's pretty hard getting a bad one. No negatives at all shop around all sites for prices, we paid $220 Aus. Saw it on some sites at $350+
Great service and wonderful staff characterised this hotel.
On arrival you get film star treatment and although we were only there for a day, en route to Australia, our memories of this hotel are great.
It is well located and about 30% of the price of Raffles without all the snobbery!
We will go back!!
Service was great, rooms a little bit old but ok. great if you are on a mixture between business and holidays
My room was normal size on the 20th floor, very comfortable with an excellent view. Room tended to be very warm if you take the room key out of the energy control as the A/C turns off after a while. When you get back in it took quite a while to cool off and I started to use another card while I was out only to find that this card had been taken out by the maid. Also in the restaurants,,elevators and other areas I found the A/C to be inadequate. But really this was a minor thing and all in all I would certainly come back as the location is great for Seatec events and the rate very favourable.
