“Luxurious with fantastic views of bay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 February 2013

Everything about our stay was slick and efficient. The location is great, within easy walking distance of numerous attractions and equally not far away from the super efficient MRT which you can get to without hardly going outside wandering through the malls.
Our harbour view room lived up to its name with spectacular views. We had an overnight flight home and following checkout we were given complimentary access to a room for a shower in the evening which was a nice touch. Not the cheapest but we felt we had value for money and I would stay here again.

Room Tip: If you like a view the harbour view rooms are worth paying for.

I loved everything about Mandarin Oriental except for one thing.. the cleanliness of the carpets wasnt so good. You can see the black marks on the sides of the carpet walls, the carpet near the dressing room area, cabinet area and going to the bathroom need shampooing. It looked disgusting for a Mandarin Oriental standards. I excpected more from Mandarin. I have to salute them though for the quality of bed, sheets, pillows.. service is impeccable, breakfast food, everything! It's indeed a luxurious stay except for that carpet shampooing that needs focus.. but everything else is perfect!

It was our first stay with Mandarin and we were simply amazed by property, service, staff, food and location. Rooms may be not that spacious, however they are so cosy and make you feel very comfortable. Bed linen was just amazing and of excellent quality. Houskeeping colleagues were doing their job very well and no unneccessary distruption. Bathroom was always in a very neat condition and what we liked more the messages with regards to Water and Energy savings which we think is a great idea to save extra time and manning.
Breakfast time was ourfavorite time of the day. We believe the variety of food is unbeliavable, especially how everything was organized by staff. They had a very good coordination between each other, assisting each and every guest- it has been obvious that all guests are so welcomed. The variety of fresh juices was amazing and how well it was presented. Colleagues behaviour was svery proffessional.
Colleagues at the reception and concierge are always up to speed, know answers for all questions, ready to provide with additional information.
the location of Hotel itself is very convenient as it connects to the Shopping Mall and MRT ( metro station)
upon departure it was heavy raining and colleague from concierge Kenneth was so polite and helpful arranging a cab to Marina Bay Sands ( this is was last night stay in that hotel). it was bit busy during that time, but he didnt leave us and went for extra mile to check about which Tower we were supposed to go by calling Hotel and checking that for us. He wanted to make sure that we are on the right track. Our next stay will be definetely in Mandarin Oriental.

Enjoying excellent locational advantage, Mandarin Oriental proves to be one of the best hotels in Singapore. The harbour view rooms offer a great view of the Marina Bay, and the sight is fabulous at night ! the Melt Cafe offers a huge multi-cuisine range of foods at breakfast and also at lunch! The Italian restaurant has a great view of the pool and also gives very good food! Of course, the atrium design has make the interior of the lobby rather dark, and the service is primarily oriented towards the Chines, Japanese and Korean travellers, and there are slip-ups ! Two fire alarms ( false alarms both!)_ in the middle of the night and in the early hours within three nights, is rather annoying! But they respond to complaints well. Their commercial terms are rather stiff--but overall a memorable experience.

Room Tip: Ask for the harbour view rooms---they are worth the additional price. Make sure you eat the breakfa...

I stayed here recently for a three night stopover and find myself in the situation of feeling quite neutral towards the hotel. I mean it does everything very well and efficiently but it also feels quite lacking in soul. On the positive side, the limo pick up service from the hotel is marvelous and any hotel with an in-room check in always gets my vote - I can't stand queueing in receptions whilst ignorant people in front who seem never to have stayed in a hotel before query why a provisional amount is being charged to their credit card. The view from the bar in the evening is superb and service is always first class. The negatives, I booked a grand room and assumed that as it was more expensive than a club room I would also get access to the club facilities - wrong. A grand room just gets you more space and then you need to pay extra to use the club facilities which are really useful if you need to meet anyone whilst out there. The lifts are also slow and can be quite a long distance from your room (irritating if you have reached that time of your life when you remember your phone or your wallet just as the lift finally arrives!). Overall, I find it hard to see how anyone would be disappointed with a stay here but then again I cant see why anyone would get excited about it.

Room Tip: Grand rooms are a decent size but not sure I would pay the premium again - get a club room for the s...

On the day we arrived, we got our room upgraded to a suite, which was great. The hotel's design is very oriental in a positive way. Even though the room is a little old, it is nicely kept. There were some people at the swimming pool, but it isn't crowded at all. Staff are overall nice and well educated. Yes, the hotel is somewhat expensive but considering the high price in, Singapore, it is acceptable. I would recommend this hotel.

We wanted to try Mandarin Oriental as its in the Marina Bay Area where there are lots of new up and coming attraction such as the Garden by the Bay but we didn't want to stay in a large hotel such as the Marina Bay Sands. The hotel itself is well kept and clean with very nice darker ambience suitable for the older crowds. Unfortunately we went with our twins and we always feel that there's something lurking in the shadows. Stayed in a connecting premium ocean view room over looking the pool. The room was nice and clean but you can tell that the hotel has been around for quite sometime. The breakfast buffet was great with various selections and lots of freshly made stations, such as, egg station, noodle station, pancakes and waffle station, etc. The pool looks nice on the Internet and was one of the reason we chose this hotel but unfortunately it is once again catered to the older crown as the main pool starts from 1.4 m deep. Even though they have children's pool it is more suitable for babies and tons of bamboo leaves in the pool. Overall I will say good hotel for adults not the kids.
