“perfect hotel to stay in Singapore”
Reviewed 11 February 2013

The hotel has an outstanding view and best pool view among Singapore. You may see the perfect marina bay view from you modern design room. The pool was so awesome, you may see the building emblazoning your tanning time. The pool staff also were very friendly and offered us some assistance to anticiipate my needs.
All staff greeted me so nice, eventhough the hotel was so busy at that time.
I love the strategic place of MO Singapore and I would make sure my self to go back in this hotel once I go to Singapore.

Room Tip: You may choose the higher floor and ask for marina bay's view, you will be impressed with the st...

This review is simply for the front desk as i have been waiting for my room since 3 and it is now 6pm. After apologies and telling us to wait an hour, two hours, and after strolling out and returning at 6pm there is nothing available yet. They tried to offer us free shuttle to the airport when we leave but we already have arrangments. Initially at 3pm Rita at the front desk had a stressed out facial expression and was not friendly at all. THis entire check-in process is NOTHING what patrons would expect from MANDARIN ORIENTAL. Poor service, poor etiquette. The second visit to the front desk Chee Ho and Rita were not helpful and only asked us to wait some more. How ridiculous is that? If the rest of my family were not staying, we would have left this hotel by now. What ridiculous standards, I would not recommend you to come during busy season like the Chinese New Year with such service. The only they tried to comp us was on drinks for 2 people who are not checked in. Really? THere are 7 of us including a children and you are being petty over CHinese New Year to a CHinese family when you originally said you would comp for 6 and all of a sudden you take it back for only 2 people. That is simply rude. Please kill me already.

We did take up on their offer on the drinks at the cafe. The restaurant staff was absolutely darlings. Perhaps they should train these friendlier staff to replace who they have at the front desk.

I think even Sheraton staff is better than them at this rate. What a shame.

The Mandarin Oriental is always our first choice when travelling to Singapore. Again, it did not disappoint. We love it for the location, superior service, comfortable rooms and super comfortable beds...and the wonderful buffet breakfast.

My husband and I have stayed here over 5 times between us and/or with our young family.

This stay was only for 1 night due to flight times, with our family of 2 adults, 2 children and an infant. We were picked up from the airport and swiftly taken to our Suite for personal check in. Always in the room is a fresh fruit basket, tea, a personal welcome back card, and in our case, kids slippers.

Arriving late we ordered room service which always has a good selection was impeccably set up for us when it arrived to our room. We had a small problem with our lights which was fixed within 5 minutes of making a call.

The impeccable service always extends out to the pool. The attendants are quick to bring fresh towels and set up your beds. Also bringing fresh water, and some nibbles or little tasters.

My husband and I also had quick Spa treatments which are always top notch.

We have never been disappointed by the Mandarin Oriental and will continue to stay here on our trips to Singapore.

The Mandarin Oriental hotel is an ideal hotel for an enjoyable stay, the level of care and consideration is excellent for a large hotel. While certainly not as intimate as their Bangkok hotel, it does not fail to please. The pool area is especially lovely and poolside service is excellent. Restaurants abound and will please every palate. The 'Melt' restaurant will ensure a broad range of choices, all excellent; if there is any criticism is that this restaurant could do with a revamp in its decor and better lighting in which to enjoy one's morning paper over breakfast. The writer prefers a smaller hotel, however the Mandarin Oriental's dedication to service overrides any criticism. The sole criticism of the room(s) is the awkward thresh-hold on the floor between the bedroom area and bathroom which comprises a half inch black granite rise that will certainly lead to many stubbed toes...why would any design encompass so obvious a danger...the front desk could provide no answer to when I stubbed my toe on this hazard...be forewarned as to this. Otherwise the hotel is ideal and so is the location, adjacent to shopping and various local sights and transport. The preferred rooms face the harbour and are designated as deluxe, ask for this view which will surely please especially at night.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the harbour are much favoured and will provide the view that is highly sought after...t...

Everything about our stay was slick and efficient. The location is great, within easy walking distance of numerous attractions and equally not far away from the super efficient MRT which you can get to without hardly going outside wandering through the malls.
Our harbour view room lived up to its name with spectacular views. We had an overnight flight home and following checkout we were given complimentary access to a room for a shower in the evening which was a nice touch. Not the cheapest but we felt we had value for money and I would stay here again.

Room Tip: If you like a view the harbour view rooms are worth paying for.

I loved everything about Mandarin Oriental except for one thing.. the cleanliness of the carpets wasnt so good. You can see the black marks on the sides of the carpet walls, the carpet near the dressing room area, cabinet area and going to the bathroom need shampooing. It looked disgusting for a Mandarin Oriental standards. I excpected more from Mandarin. I have to salute them though for the quality of bed, sheets, pillows.. service is impeccable, breakfast food, everything! It's indeed a luxurious stay except for that carpet shampooing that needs focus.. but everything else is perfect!

It was our first stay with Mandarin and we were simply amazed by property, service, staff, food and location. Rooms may be not that spacious, however they are so cosy and make you feel very comfortable. Bed linen was just amazing and of excellent quality. Houskeeping colleagues were doing their job very well and no unneccessary distruption. Bathroom was always in a very neat condition and what we liked more the messages with regards to Water and Energy savings which we think is a great idea to save extra time and manning.
Breakfast time was ourfavorite time of the day. We believe the variety of food is unbeliavable, especially how everything was organized by staff. They had a very good coordination between each other, assisting each and every guest- it has been obvious that all guests are so welcomed. The variety of fresh juices was amazing and how well it was presented. Colleagues behaviour was svery proffessional.
Colleagues at the reception and concierge are always up to speed, know answers for all questions, ready to provide with additional information.
the location of Hotel itself is very convenient as it connects to the Shopping Mall and MRT ( metro station)
upon departure it was heavy raining and colleague from concierge Kenneth was so polite and helpful arranging a cab to Marina Bay Sands ( this is was last night stay in that hotel). it was bit busy during that time, but he didnt leave us and went for extra mile to check about which Tower we were supposed to go by calling Hotel and checking that for us. He wanted to make sure that we are on the right track. Our next stay will be definetely in Mandarin Oriental.
