After several visits to Singapore with my female relatives staying at a nearby hotel I vowed that I would return with my husband and stay at the MO as the dark cool ambiance always captivated me.
We stayed in a Harbour View Room with Club Lounge access. The room itself was on a high floor with large double glazed windows which made it very quiet and the bed and lines were fabulous. The views were beautiful but obstructed by the very heavy old fashioned curtains taking up a quarter of the window space. The room felt very small and the facilities outdated i.e. no expresso machine, old fashioned bathroom and shower.
The club lounge had a lovely serene ambience with polished wooden floors and very tall windows with unfortunate views to an unatractive construction site and no views to the Harbour. The couches were threadbare and in urgent need of replacement.
The swimming pool is beautiful if very busy due to the Christmas season.
it is a lovely hotel and I agree with the positive comments in relation to the service but it is in serious need of a top to bottom upgrade particularly when taking into account the price tag that goes along with a stay here.More
