This hotel is a favorite. Great pool with a view. I find it better than the marina bay and the guests are more relaxed. The rooms are well appointed and mega quiet.
Buffet is unbelievable with everything you can imagine. Located next to marina shopping it has a good food court but the best is the hawker food tucked across the road.

On previous visits to Singapore, we have stayed at and loved the Shangri' La. This time we were unable to book the Shangri 'La so opted for the Mandarin instead, because some categories of rooms offered a late check out at 6pm, which was ideal for our onward flight. On check in we were advised that check out was 4pm but on querying this, they honoured the 6pm, as that was the policy when we reserved. 5 star service.
The Mandarin has a great location close to the Merlion, Marina Sands and Gardens on the Bay (better than the Shangri' La which is remote). The Cherry Garden restaurant was very good, service in the club room efficient and the gym well equipped.
The service was a little impersonal and the hair dryer was difficult to use as it was hard-wired into a drawer. How many people staying in 5 star hotels steal hair dryers!

Stayed at the Mandarin Oriental for 3 days before going to Thailand. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with friends and we were not disappointed with any aspects of this hotel. Fantastic room with an amazing view, world's most comfortable bed, friendly helpful staff, and the choice of different food at breakfast was staggering! Would definitely recommend staying at this hotel as the location was excellent too!

Stayed in the hotel for our honeymoon then we continued to Bali. The welcoming was outstanding, a bottle of wine, flowers, large fruit basket and tea was placed in our room on arrival. The concierge and front desk staff knowledge's were magnificent. We been complimentary upgraded to the Junior suite. The champagne breakfast on the top restaurant was just wooooow.

Many thanks to all staff.

We arrive at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel at 7.30pm on New Years Eve, this is the forth time we have stayed at this hotel as the service and facilities are outstanding. The hotel was really busy when we arrived and found they had allocated our harbour view room, which was booked February 2013, had been taken by another guest. The hotel were very apologetic and gave us an upgrade to an enormous suite.
We had a meal at Dolce Vita Restaurant, which is on the fifth floor and then out onto the patio area to watch the wonderful fireworks which were lit from the harbour and were almost eyelevel with us .
The hotel provides everything you need for a perfect holiday, good restaurants, lovely pool area providing towels, sunscreen and waiter service.
There is also a spa and beauty salon.
The restaurant overlooks the harbour of Marina bay which after dark is completely lit up by the lights from the surrounding sky scraping buildings and the river boats sailing up and down the river until late.
There is also a laser show every night which shines onto the water from the Marina Bay Sands Hotel.
The Singapore flyer which is almost next door to the hotel is apparently the highest wheel in the world at the moment and from the top we were told you can see all over Singapore although we didn't venture onto it.
The hotel will organise any trips or sight seeing you would like to do and I would recommend the
Night Safari.
If you have children a trip to Santosa Island to visit Universal Studios is a must, it is Disney Land on a smaller scale but magical to all the little ones.
On a final note a trip to Raffles for Singapore Sling is obviously a "have to do it", but we thought it had become so busy they were serving SS on tap and the SS we had at Mortons Bar in the hotel was much better, plus Mortons serve free steak rolls between 5 - 6.30pm every night.

Room Tip: I would recommend a higher floor as the rooms have a better view over the skyline. Also ask for a r...

We had two nights at this Hotel in a Club room on the top floor. We wished we could have stayed longer - We loved it. The staff were gracious and incredibly helpful.
The location is perfect. The view from the top floor Club bedroom was great

Room Tip: I would choose a Club room with harbour view - glorious!
