We stayed in a club level room which was very nice. However, as we have already been in Singapore for some days, we arrived in shorts and polo shirts.no business dress but still quite we'll dresses - but in shorts. When you stay at club level, checkin is done in the club lounge. However, shorts are not allowed there. It took us a few minutes to find this out and we're asked, if we would like to change our clothes.... Of course we did not want to change to please the staff of the hotel only... And it was in the afternoon, hardly any guests in the lounge. Speaking to the front desk manager was useless, he only said 100 times sorry but insisted that we should change our shorts. It ended up that we did the checkin in the room. No welcome drinks, nothing. We were so angry, that we wrote the same night an email to the manager and the next day, we have received an excuse with a nice bottle of wine. All the hassle could have been avoided by simply bringing us to our room without bringing the lounge checking on the table and get us two welcome drinks - they are complimentary anyway on club floor.
The rest of our stay was great. The club lounge offers a decent breakfast, nice afternoon tea and great cocktails I'm the evening. Complimentary for guests on the club floor. Staff in General is very friendly. We in addition have received a room upgrade thanks to the Amex platinum card and enjoyed a nice view. The pool area is also very nice, stylish and cool. Also the gym is good equipped. All in all a very good hotel and if the checkin would have been more professional, I would have rated excellent instead of very good.

Room Tip: Don't arrive in casual clothes, otherwise they feel you are not good enough for the hotel

comfortable hotel for business with a great swimming pool with a view. I like this hotel, the only bad thing I found, the bar which is small closes very early. For leisure travellers, it is a bit of a hike to the shops in Orchard Road

The service was excellent. Nothing was too much. The location was great. The harbour area is lovely and it was very easy to get into the main shopping area and place of interest. Depending on your fitness you could walk or catch an MRT.

Room Tip: We loved the room!

Stayed at the place for 2 days on a business trip. Conveniently located between airport and city, yet close to the central business district. A top hotel with no flaws. Excellent service. Let them give you a a single digit room number. On any floor these rooms face the lake and the Marina Bay building. Stunning views!

As part of our Golden Wedding celebrations we stayed at the Mandarin Oriental before moving on to Malaysia. On arrival we were given a great room with tremendous views of the sea and the Singapore Flyer. There was also a bottle of wine and chocolates in the room with a special anniversary cake. What a welcome! This is probably one of the best, if not the best hotel in Singapore. There are many things to praise in this hotel and the quality and choice of food at breakfast was tremendous.
Another plus is location. Within easy walking distance to the Quays, the Esplanade, Raffles Landing and Gardens by The Bay. We would gladly go back any time as it was an ideal start to our Asian holiday. Thank you Mandarin Oriental.

Room Tip: Higher floors with view of Singapore Flyer are best

I have always enjoyed staying at any mandarin oriental throughout the world. My previous stay last year was enjoyable however their standard has really dropped during my recent stay this year
Upon check in, the chair in my room was broken with sharp metal parts exposed. It did caused a slight scratch on my legs. It wasn't that bad so I merely informed guest services that they should replace the chair. Electric outlet wasn't working in the bathroom. That was easily fixed.
My main issue was that after informing them that I was allergic to down, pillows that they offered were really firm cheap foam pillows. The comforter were replaced with a tattered twin blanket with torn covers. I inquired if they had a pillow menu like most hotels ( especially at the, price they were charging) and was informed that they do not have any.
To add insult to injury, my room wasn't made up the following day upon my return in the late afternoon. Guest services had the audacity to inform me that perhaps the do not disturb sign was on. Definitely not.
Housekeeping finally showed up and admitted that they were short of staff and didn't have the chance to clean my room.
I didn't want to ruin my vacation and immediately checked out the following day and checked in to another hotel.
After writing a letter of complaint to the GM , all I received was an apology email back from another manager.

Room Tip: All rooms were average and dated.
