Booked this staycation simply because I want to view the National Day Parade Preview. The suite given to us were just behind the spectator stand, giving us full view of the big screen showcasting the parade, as well as the parachutes performance, fireworks display etc. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole show, just as if we were there in front of the stage, but with full comforts of the hotel facilities.
Check-in was a little slow, as rooms were not ready even after 3pm, which is the official check-in time. However, they upgraded my room, which was a pleasant surprise. Only hiccup is that they forgot that my original room included a free rollover bed, and didn't send one to our suite until I asked for it. Housekeeping take a little while to send in though.
Room wise, the suite is big. Bed was too soft for my liking, and I felt like sinking into the bed. Bedlinen smelt of cigarettes. Bathroom amenities were great, with aromatic scented toiletries plus bath salt.
Service at the swimming pool was beyond expectations. Service staff led us to an empty canopy, brought towels for all of us, and served iced water - all at no charge.
Breakfast at the Melt Café was delicious with lots of variety.
Check-out was somewhat slow, as the concierge took quite a while to collect our luggage. I supposed it's because a lot of guests were checking out at the same time. The icing was a waiver of all but one of the extra breakfasts we had (we had guests joining us for breakfast).
Overall, a very pleasant and beyond expectations stay. If NDP is held again at Marina, I would definitely book Mandarin Oriental again!

Booked for business and was amazed at the attentive professionalism from the concierge regarding my car service requirements before arriving. I booked a club harborview room. On arrival I was taken immediately from the car door to my room on the 20th floor where check in was done there. No reception desk. I was impressed, but when looking out the window and having a panoramic view of the entire harbor from Marina Bay Sands to the Esplanade Mall, I was equally impressed. Watched the light shows with clear views nightly. The pool was great (if not a bit small) and the gym was great too. The spa had some kinks. On arrival I booked a jet lag service only to have construction workers banging away on the spa roof right over my relaxation room. An expensive non-relaxing experience. The attendant gifted me with scrubbing salts rather than adjusting my bill. As a guy, I was not impressed with gifted scrubbing salts. Otherwise the club attendants were great breakfast and evening buffet were very good. I would consider staying here again on my next business trip to Singapore as service exceeded my expectations for the brand (minus the spa).

Room Tip: Chose the Club Harbour Room for the best panoramic view of the city.

Figured that I would focus my review on the gym, which has an outdoor terraced area with a proper pull up bar mounted on a rafter. There are also TRX straps in this area. I have not seen this in any other gym in a business hotel in Singapore.

Room Tip: Get a room near the elevator

I booked the Mandarin Oriental for my husband's birthday to surprise him. Arrived at 8.00pm approximately and it was hot even for an Aussie. I also had a seven year old autistic son with me. Now based on the fact that I was spending nearly $1000AUD a night I assumed that our room would of course be ready. It was not. Tantrum on my half began. So you're probably wondering where the five stars came from. Had the staff behaved differently this review would have got one star but they proceeded to try and repair the damage immediately. Not only did they pay for our first nights room service they organised a private limo to Universal Studios the next morning. When we arrived back there were chocolates and a bottle of wine. In hindsight despite the first nights problem everything was great. The room was beautiful as was the bed. The restaurant Mortons was fantastic and the staff were lovely even in the face of me abusing them on night one. I felt like a bit of a twit when they were so lovely that I had to apologise. Thank you for making my husbands birthday wonderful.

This is my third stay at this hotel. I have stayed other 5 start hotels in Singapore, but keep coming back to the MO and will continue to do so whoever I pass through Singapore. I enjoy the large comfortable rooms and the ambiance, drinks and snacks in the Club lounge. The service of the staff is impeccable.

Room Tip: I had a junior suite on the ninth floor. It was ideal - excellent view of the harbour and the pool.

This is probably the classiest hotel I have ever stayed in, and despite the cost (which was higher than I expected) I happily surrendered to enjoy all of its merits. Service is out of the box, from the elegant doormen and women to the wait staff at breakfast remembering our names and our previous orders, and the pool staff prompt with fresh towels and cold water. Even the housekeeping and room service were exceptional. The room was top notch in all respects and the panoramic view of the harbour was breathtaking. Breakfast was great with everything being top quality.

This was my first time in Singapore for business and the Mandarin was highly recommended. I arrived at the hotel and I was very graciously greeted by the front desk personnel. I began the check-in process and was informed that the room I had booked was no longer available, however, I was upgraded to the suite on the top floor free of charge. I had no problem with that :).

Once that was all settled, the person I was dealing with at the front desk escorted me to my room on the 21st floor. She showed me all of the room's features and amenities. I was truly stunned by the service.

The room itself is slightly dated in my view, but it was clean and quite spacious. I had a beautiful view of the Marina and could not have asked for anything more. The washroom is quite large.

Service at the various restaurants (Melt) is a sight to see and witness. I was always called by my last name (Mr. XXXX). Service was beyond attentive and it seemed that they would go to great lengths to ensure that I was enjoying my meal. After one breakfast in which I did not finish my eggs (I was full - the eggs were perfect), the supervisor brought out a chef who had a whole mango and began to slice it up in decoratively in front of me. I was truly amazed. They all remembered my name every morning for breakfast and even remembered my newspaper and preferred seating.

Dolce Vita was exquisite. I went there numerous times after work and the food and service are just impeccable. Cherry Garden was also very good, although it was empty/quiet when I was there. Morton's is very lively and has a great atmosphere. I do like how it is open to the center of the hotel.

The pool area is gorgeous, with a very nice view of the marina. I still dream of that view to this day. It was also nice on my lazy day to sit there all day and have food and drinks ordered directly to my chair.

It was truly very hard to leave this place, but I can without a doubt recommend this hotel to anyone that I know. The service here is like no other - hands down amazing!
