We stayed at this hotel twice in the past six weeks, once on our way to Europe and once on the way back. Because of our having a midnight flight we booked an executive club room. The extra price was well worth it as we able to avail ourselves of a late checkout on both occasions and also having the use of the club room after checking out. Breakfast is also in this room on the 60th floor. Great views while you eat. It is the staff that makes this hotel. It is possible to forget the dated decor (the beds are firm and comfortable and the place is spotless) when you have such a caring and friendly staff right from the ones who deal with you directly to the ones you meet casually in the lifts or corridors.. Before our midnight flight we were able to have drinks and a meal at the Happy Hour in the club lounge and after our long flight from Europe were welcomed with drinks and a small meal. My suggestion is to upgrade to the executive rooms as the service, free use of internet and the Happy Hour snacks and drinks (which is really an evening meal and made use of by guests with young families) make it really well worthwhile. We will stay here again becuse of the location right above the shopping centre and Metro and mostly because of the kindness and friendliness of the staff. One even made sure a nervous photographer felt safe while taking a photo from the balcony on the 60th floor.

Room Tip: Choose and executive club room (floors 57 to 60) and ask for a harbour view if possible.

We booked into the Swissotel during a stopover on the way to Australia. We had to book two nights, even though we only actually stayed one - just to keep the use of the room for the second day (flight out was around midnight).

Check-in was easy, and staff polite. We had booked a smoking room, and although given a smoking room, there was no ashtray, so we called the desk, and one was delivered reasonably quickly.

We decided to treat ourselves to a beer each from the mini bar, before heading down to Clarke Quay - to find our mini bar was stocked with one beer only, and nothing else. Another phone call resulted in a vist from the Room Service attendant, who re-stocked the mini-bar, but with warm drinks. I had a feeling there would be issues with this on check-out, and I was right - when checking out I was presented with a bill which included the one cold beer (which we did have (shared)), plus some red wine. I thought it odd that the bill was only for one additional item, when the entire minibar had to be restocked. The bill was amended, and we paid it.

I had requested a room on a high floor, and we were given a room on the 43rd floor, with amazing views.

There is a taxi rank at the front of the hotel for guests, and when we left for the airport, we were given priority - I assume because we were going to the airport?

Next time we stopover in Singapore, we'll probably stay here again, is it is a nice hotel, and it is in a great location.

I stayed at the Hotel about 16 years ago, under previous owners and thought the views were fantastic and with the addition of the new Marina Sands opposite they still are fantastic. Unfortunately the views were the only thing that compared favourably with my previous stay. The check in person was cold and robotic.
I had booked a Grand room and in size it was grand but the decor was dated and furniture was grubby. The lounge suit was so soiled on the arms that it really belonged at a rubbish tip. The TV remote only worked if you held the button down for a prolonged period. Unless you have a company credit card I suggest you stay away fron the restaurants, again fantastic views but the food was average at best and the prices were obscene. For the price of one glass of a mid range Australian red I could purchase 2 bottles of the same drop at home.

I've been visiting this hotel under various names for about 15 years - probably 10 to 20 times. To start with, it is a massive hotel - it could be totally impersonal, but they seem to still hold it together. Rooms are large, with balconies and plenty of natural light. The inevitable update hasn't been game changing, but it is welcomed. The desk is large, the bed firm but comfortable, the TV moderately entertaining and the mini-bar sparse and expensive (not much better for the internet). Room service is good, and the local food options great - if you can walk a couple of blocks, you'll find excellent hawker centres or you can always cross the road to the Raffles Hotel and go to the Long Bar for beer and nuts. The MRT underneath makes most locations easily accessible, but the taxi's are usually plentiful (can be a little rare at peaks). The shopping centre - which the hotel is built above - is quite large, and it is relatively easy (with help from the concierge) to navigate your way through the underground walkways to the convention centre and nearby attractions / shopping centres. Best still, I tend to fall-back to this hotel if room prices in Singapore get excessive, and never seem to regret it. Overall, a safe stay and just about always great value.

Room Tip: The view over the bay and towards the new Casino is great

Went on a weekend getaway with my husband just this weekend and decided to stay at the Swissotel The Stamford for the location. We were in Singapore for only a little over 24 hours and didn't want to waste time walking to the MRT station.
The hotel, for a 5-star chain hotel in Singapore, is just OK. Lobby is a little on the small side, and consequently, quite crowded. However, service was very good with staff always quick to assist. Our room was on the 27th floor, with views of the War Memorial Park, Esplanade, Marina Bay Sands, and the Singapore flyer. The view at night was quite amazing.
The room is outdated, but the bed is comfortable. What I didn't like was the foldable glass shower wall that had a small gap for the hinges, which meant that the floor beside the shower/toilet would flood a little when you shower.
Location is superb. The hotel is adjacent to the Raffles City shopping centre with a foodcourt just below the hotel. Also below the hotel is the City Hall MRT station and an underpass to the Esplanade.
Overall, it's quite pricey for an outdated hotel. It's great for short stays, but for longer stays I prefer other newer, quieter hotels on Marina Bay.

Room Tip: Lower floors also have a good view of Marina Bay.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! A very comfortable room with a great bathroom, big balcony and a very good bed. The service and staff are very professional and always helpful, nice atmosphere. There is a free wi-fi in every room. I really recomend to book a room with breakfast. It's varied, fresh and you can find a lot of typical dishes. This hotel has also a top location and you can book a room with a very good view on the high floor

This property used to be The Westin Stamford and still offers a very convenient location with The Raffles multi-level shopping mall below and access to the super efficient subway system without even crossing a street. In addition, a network of below ground air conditioned walkways inter-connect to adjacent office buildings, hotels and other sites in the Marina Square area. A definite plus when it is pouring rain or baking hot outside! Some of the hotel rooms are a bit dated with Westin-era furniture but still offer a comfortable enviroment and jaw-dropping spectacular views from its private balconies. Request a high-floor room facing the Singapore river or the new Sands casino. The Orchard Rd shopping district is only a five minute subway ride away!

Room Tip: High floor room away from elevators are more quiet. Request an upgrade to a corner mini-suite facin...
